I am presently reading the book ' We Die Alone' by David Howarth. So many brave people who had the courage of their Viking ancestors, especially Jan Baalsrud. Incredible tale of survival.

When people are fighting for their homeland, some of them become capable of exceptional things. This is right from the top drawer of such stories. Vladimir Putin needs to be shown this, because there are people in the Ukraine doing just this, in their own ways, right now. When exceptional people are motivated, almost nothing will stop them.

He and three others were supposed to sabotage the airfield at Bardufoss. They were discovered and the other three and 8 boat crew were captured and killed. His escape served as a story of defiance against the German occupants and a motivation to keep on resisting.
