    Very well done vid man. Don't think alot of guys know how to do this level of work on Excursions anymore. You handled it like a BOSS! Lets face it, Excursions are awsome but are also dinosaurs. I have a 2001 Excrsn Limited 6.8L V10 and i love it. But since Ford stopped makin'em in 2005, well they're becoming a thing of the past. But those who like'em are quite loyal to them. Thanks again man. You got serious talent.👍

    I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for this video. It was very easier to follow the steps and get my cab off at my house.

    Was curios how much work this would be... Thought about pulling the cab to work on chassis rust and stuff but it looks like the cab is staying on for that work until I have a better reason to pull the cab... THANK YOU SO MUCH for this highly educational video!!!

    Been looking for a vid like this. Very smart and knowledgeable young guy. I cant seem to find much on the 2001 Excursion with Triton V10, 6.8L, although this was a 7.3L TD. Great tips. thnx.

    Ford should start making the excursion again, I think it would sell pretty well especially if they offered the 6.7 powerstroke engine. Seeing how popular the old excursions are and the fact that the 6.7 is a quieter and cleaner engine I would think it would be wildly popular.

      Agreed. But looking how the 6.0 Excursion was $55,000, dwarfing the best optioned out diesel pickup by $10,000, one would be looking at $90,000+ once again making it for the very well-to-do. I own an 03 6.0 excursion, bought in 2010, and they were still going for $30-40,000 then.

    Great Video, I'm pulling my can as we speak. Thank you for showing me what I missed.
    Also, what is that step you have on the front bumper?

    I am enjoying this video, thanks for posting this in detail! I have an early 03 and when it becomes my daily I want to do some work to the engine and I know this is the best way to work on them. Thanks for showing your struggles with fasteners! I thought I was the only one that can get his ass kicked by them! lol. Great vid, I am so glad I found it! Sub'd

    Thanks for the video. I was looking to see how the excursion is done since I will be having a reman long block put in my 03 soon. I would do it if I had a lift but unfortunately, I don't. The shop has quoted 2200 to remove and replace with the new long block.

    What's the difference between the 6.0L excursion and the other ones when it comes to removing the body?

    So, how long does it to from start until the cab is lifted? Rough estimate I know there are a lot of variables.

      If you know what you're doing, it takes about an hour or two. If it's your first time, probably a day or two.

    Here's a question for you. I have a 6.0 with a good frame and a rust bucket body. Can i drop a clean california body from a v10 on it?? Wiring harness issues?

      CayenneosaurusRex dash wiring will be different.

    • @carteranderson32
      @carteranderson32 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am doing this now, dropping a gas body on a Diesel chassis. You have to bring the diesel dashboard and wire harness over. My project will take me into the summer before I will finish due to snow in Colorado.

    I wanna pull the body of an 02 v10. The motor is blown so it is coming out either way. Would i be best off trying to pill the motor first or body then motor?

    • @CaptainRudy4021
      @CaptainRudy4021 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Body first. You'll have so much more room for activities. However, if you don't have a lift, then pulling the body off is pretty much out of the question.

    Is it possible to put a 2 wheel drive body onto a 4 wheel drive chassis? 2000 to a 2005

    • @CaptainRudy4021
      @CaptainRudy4021 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll have to swap over the dash and wiring from the 4x4 truck body

      Bryon Davidson we build engines. I don’t really have a kit that I recommend. We do sell everything you need.

      Check the ficm and pcm connectors, the ficm plugs are notorious for coming loose.
