honestly this sounded more like benny wanting to embarrass frida by saying that she had been practicing all week long for this. she sounded genuinely hurt when she said "that's not fair"
They had a big hit with Does Your Mother Know with Bjorn doing the lead. They used to sing more leads in the first few years of the group. They always did backup vocals on the albums.
This, in my opinion, is the magic of youtube - having access to wonderful moments like this that would otherwise not be accessible to humble everyday people like me.. Thank you!
The only Abba song sang by Benny is "Suzy hang around" you should check it ! :") And also about girls' vocal range - check their preparings to the show in "Abba. The Movie"!
When they really want to, Abba can cover all genres. To think that Abba knew opera, classical before pop with all the range necessary, it is no wonder popular bands feel constrained doing only their song. This is a very generous sharing of abilities wonderful to see and hear.
I just realized something: Olivia has a nice voice, but what made her a star is the quality of her musicianship and the way she often approached a song. Pretty cool!
ABBA, Andy Gibb, and Olivia Newton John did a wonderful job singing Help Me Rhonda (originally sung by The Beach Boys). Feel like dancing in the 1960s and 1970s in the family.
This is like meeting these talented people round the campfire. It's enchanting. Abba are a tiny bit nervous because they are so used to singing in English, not conversing in it. But everyone enjoys themselves: no rude or blockhead of a tv host or interviewer sapping the fun and gentleness from proceedings here, thank God!
Anni- Frid (Frida) is stunning in this video and she has a wonderful sense of humor as well! Her opera training stands out along with her beauty! Agnetha is ever the ravishing blonde with an amazing sense of life direction that she ultimately chose to follow, despite the fame from being one of the world's most incredible quartets!
Notice how polite and restrained the audience is, no-one getting out of order or interrupting, just listening probably in awe at these mega stars actually just being themselves and clearly at ease - aside from Frida's 'solo'were she does feel a little discomfort but shouldn't. You just couldn't have this kind of set up these days, absolute golden times and I feel lucky to have been a child of the 70s
"And then in '71 ..." says Olivia NJ, in 1978, referring to the beginning of her career 7 years previously. It's just the way she says it in abbreviated form. Time keeps ticking, and ticking very fast. I know: '71 in 1978 was so close. I think, with this piece of tv history, you relive the 70s. The way ONJ says '71 makes you feel you are actually there. You get a taste of the 70s through the conversation. That's heartwarming. Very much so!
***** The general populace in the 70's were so much nicer looking than today. Few fat people, tattoos only on vets & circus freaks,no steroids or growth hormones in meat and neat dressing was more common.
vanillaexplosion99 From what i've seen in images, movies and TV shows from that era i'd have to agree, i was born in 79 but i've been drawn to that decade since i can remember, all the way to the early 80's, there was so much beauty and style back then, and Olivia's beauty was like unparalleled at the time.
+vanillaexplosion99 Fully concur, even if i was too young in the 70's to realize that, but it's more or less the same for the 80's when i was a teen. Especially about fatness: Actually the ones who were fat, were either "professional eaters" or fat because of medical reasons. But what i miss most is that life was so uncomplicated then compared to nowadays, less information, less technology, less expectations, MORE FUN !
Real beautiful voices... live music... no lipsing... on TV in the 1970's !??! WOW!!! Even today in 2017 it's still impossible to ask for live performance (not lipsing) on TV
I remember seeing Abba in Chicago in 1979 and watching this show when it aired. I'm eternally grateful to have lived the seventies!! My God Abba and The Bee Gees and Olivia were and are the BEST!!!
Wow, it really was a completely different era, wasn't it? I love this grouping! It's a bit surprising how shy and awkward they seem here... these were amongst the biggest stars in the world! Well, poor Andy Gibb would've been had he lived longer, but ABBA & ONJ definitely were. Such is the allure of nostalgia, folks! 😀
Incredible that I didn't even know about Andy Gibb until now. So nice to see Olivia, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid in opera mode, awesome lovexxxx
They did a lot of covers in their solo albums. Only chek Frida's Ensam (Swedish covers of David Bowie, 10CC etc.)and Agnetha's My Colouring Book (covers of 60s tunes). Believe me, Frida did enormous vocal work on that album !
This is music heaven. My favorite groups were the Beach Boys, ABBA and the Bee Gees - all represented here! Olivia/Sandy and Grease was one of my favorite movies. Thanks TH-cam.
Thanks for putting this up. So cool! They all seem like such sweet people, especially Andy Gibb, with that soft-spoken way of his. Frida sounds like a legit opera singer.
Sometimes I feel like Andy Gibb, ABBA, and Olivia Newton-John all had something special with each other. They’ve been around each other a lot. Like UNICEF and the ABC Television special with just them again. I love them together.
This was fun! Just goofy fun jammin' on the spot. A lot of people I know hate the Beach Boys and think all they did was sing about surfing, but musically speaking they had some really catchy tunes (as well as many songs about other topics besides surfing). This special was just real and that's what makes it rock!
Andy Gibb... I think my crush has never gone away, for such a beautiful soul, and Olivia Newton John, I remember as a kid, in Xanadu, I was in awe and of her, I just wanted to be her, getting around on roller skates 🥰 and who didn’t love ABBA?!!! All of these people, were so influential, growing up. I was devastated, when Andy passed. I don’t know any person, who wasn’t 😔 O.N.J, just had SO MUCH innocence about her♥️🥰 #love #classics #wishicouldrewindtime x
A lot of great talent here. I love the Beach Boys, and seeing their music performed by ABBA, Olivia, and Andy is a treat. Thank you for sharing this with us. George Vreeland Hill
i love when they sing "Baarbara Ann" and i laughed so hard at how Frida is so funny. georgous and funny....hmmm...she has it all( of corse, Agnetha does too)
Me encanta. Que bien canta Frida "Una Voce Poco Fa" del Barbero de Sevilla. Preciosa Mezzosoprano aterciopelada. Felicidades para Frida!!! También para todos!!!
IT is so hard to put into words how much would I have given to be there, with such superstars, and that is the least bit of everything...The memories from hearing Olivia, Andy, and Abba are just so precious that that happens to be the true treasure that I carry with me. Is there anything else to say....Maybe the musicians, in all their fame and madness, never realize how they change lives, help you forget your problems, make u fall in love with their music. I could go on and on....

1st time I've seen the ABBA boys sing (or attempt to), Andy Gibb was so underrated, the girls are gorgeous!
They had a big hit with Does Your Mother Know with Bjorn doing the lead. They used to sing more leads in the first few years of the group. They always did backup vocals on the albums.
@@creatinotionchannel2680 That's what I was about to say.... hahaha
The ”ABBA boys”...

Woooooaaaaa Frida is stunning!!!!! she is simply amazing here!!! no one wanted to keep on singing after she performed!
This, in my opinion, is the magic of youtube - having access to wonderful moments like this that would otherwise not be accessible to humble everyday people like me.. Thank you!
Ditto, Im 58 and its 2019
Yes! I love TH-cam for videos such as these.
It is so funny that they don't know the lyrics of Help me Rhonda in the beginning
Close as you can get to time machine
2020; couldn't agree more.
Love the natural chemistry and innocence between these guys.
Never seen this before. Fida is Wonderful & Olivia is so cute.
That’s the first time I’ve heard Benny sing 🎤 🎶 and I’m surprised by Frida’s vocal range. Wow!

Im simply stunned by Frida's fantastic operatic voice.
What a wonderful session. RIP, Olivia, and thank you for the music.
I just realized something: Olivia has a nice voice, but what made her a star is the quality of her musicianship and the way she often approached a song. Pretty cool!
Just an absolute Star in anyones language. Pure talent as they call it
Quite a rare combination of top 70's stars here...Abba, Andy, Olivia,
I think we should be grateful this gathering of talent was recorded. Much talent and charm demonstrated here.
Now that’s a talented group of singers
Frida has an amazing voice. So underrated.
Frida has a wide range, she can do contralto also. I love ABBA!
ABBA, Andy Gibb, and Olivia Newton John did a wonderful job singing Help Me Rhonda (originally sung by The Beach Boys). Feel like dancing in the 1960s and 1970s in the family.

well said, good comment
What I find most amazing about this video is the fact that Olivia Newton-John is playing drums with the brushes.
Gotta luv the brushes 💙 😎
Not sure "amazing" is the right word, but it was interesting as a curiosity.
It's nice to see pop stars just having fun and enjoying themselves, doing it for the kids
RIP Olivia Newton John (Aug 8, 2022) Always loved you - You will be sorely missed. Much love always, dear one❤💔❣
Olivia is a sweetheart.
Abba were so musically talented.
Olivia and Andy Gibb had lovely chemistry.
Great frida's voice
And you know those very high operatic voices on The Day Before You Came, Frida sings them!!!
Wow, Frida singing Rossini's "Una Voce Poco Fa". Awesome.
Yes, I agree this is awful. It is downright embarrassing.
Great to see musicians, singers, from separate groups - or just soloists - all jamming together.
"And then in '71 ..." says Olivia NJ, in 1978, referring to the beginning of her career 7 years previously. It's just the way she says it in abbreviated form. Lovely to see them together in such a relaxed setting, not seen this before :)
So much beauty in one room, my God, these women were gorgeous, to be fair, so was Andy :)

***** Without question.
+vanillaexplosion99 ..and beautiful, natural, hairy beavers :)

Beautiful people, beautiful music, beautiful period in time.
Real beautiful voices... live music... no lipsing... on TV in the 1970's !??! WOW!!! Even today in 2017 it's still impossible to ask for live performance (not lipsing) on TV
This is one of my favorites clips of Andy Gibb ❤
Frida rocks man, what a voice, wow.
That’s why Abba is one of the bands all times, very appreciated to watch this from TH-cam
I remember seeing Abba in Chicago in 1979 and watching this show when it aired. I'm eternally grateful to have lived the seventies!! My God Abba and The Bee Gees and Olivia were and are the BEST!!!
I remember when this was on TV. It was just a fun special. All of this wonderful talent jamming together. R.I.P. Andy Gibb
Priceless... i wanna go back to when i was a child and these folks were in their prime.. what a time.. ;)
That is a historic moment there folks. Best harmonies ever, and the cast. OMG you can't get better than that...Thanks for posting this.
Frida's solo is amazing
Back in those days, "pop stars" were also real musicians...
I was in love with Frida , beautiful !!!
Frida sounded lovely
Wow, it really was a completely different era, wasn't it? I love this grouping! It's a bit surprising how shy and awkward they seem here... these were amongst the biggest stars in the world! I have no words for this...absolutely amazing!
Wow! Big smile on my face (and a tear in my eye) all the way through this piece. Those truly were The Days!
I love them!! Frida is amazing!!
Incredible that I didn't even know about Andy Gibb until now. So nice to see Olivia, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid in opera mode, awesome lovexxxx
Two of the most beautiful blonde women ever!
I thought you meant Olivia Newton John and Andy Gibb - then I noticed Abba in the video.
They did a lot of covers in their solo albums. Only chek Frida's Ensam (Swedish covers of David Bowie, 10CC etc.)and Agnetha's My Colouring Book (covers of 60s tunes). Believe me, Frida did enormous vocal work on that album !
Olivia is still AMAZING! i saw her sing this weekend at a private event with her new husband Amazon John and it blew me away...what a beautiful soul!
This is music heaven. My favorite groups were the Beach Boys, ABBA and the Bee Gees - all represented here! Olivia/Sandy and Grease was one of my favorite movies. Thanks TH-cam.
Such fantastic musicians!!!! Like for real, no effects.
JOSEPH DEHESA P
Anni Frids voice when she does opera 😍😍
Because she was schooled as a opera singer 😄
she's a mezzo soprano!!
So sad to see Andy here. Such a talented, handsome young man who had so much potential. RIP.
So fun to watch these people enjoy making music. so much talent on that stage.
How did I only just find this?! This deserves more appreciation
Thanks for putting this up. So cool! They all seem like such sweet people, especially Andy Gibb, with that soft-spoken way of his. Frida sounds like a legit opera singer.

They're Australian
Abba and Olivia Newton John competed against eachother at the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest.
And then only ABBA remains... 🤧 Rest well ONJ ❤️🌹
...and Olivia is SO quick witted!!! The"dogs" comment was timed to perfection... and unrehearsed too
Frida is so cute
and this vid rocks absolutely
Olivia was so beautiful!
I will never stop loving Frida
Goodness you forget how powerful ONJs voice is even mixing among those amazing voices from ABBA. What a treasure.
Awesome... thanks to youtube, we get to see much more musical footage than even fans in the 70s !
Frida îs absolutely amazing......she's perfect !!!!!!!
What a cool video to see them all preform together. Really neat. I love it !!!!
oh my my ABBA...they are just perfect!
I would've loved to have been sitting around the stage. FrIda is incredible.
Oh God!
My favorite voices n the planet.
I havent seen this
Amazing!
That’s a great collection of female voices and musical talent on that stage. And Olivia is absolutely gorgeous by the way.
Desde que era una niña admire a esta mujer su voz, su calidez; todo; estos son unos buenos recuerdos que tengo de mi infancia...
Great video! All my favourites from the 70's in one package. Wow!
What a treasure to accidentally find! Thanks so much for sharing this; it brought back so many memories.

D. Alex Hutchinson No. It’s Olivia Newton John, or Newton- John.
Cheers 🥂
That blonde from ABBA was gorgeous, truly an angel on earth.
That blonde.... Her name is Agnetha and she's 50% of the most lethal pair of lead singer's in music history
este video lo he visto miles de veces y no me cansare nunca de verlo me rio mucho todos son encantadores
All these artists just having fun it is so enjoyable
When i was 12 i use to listen to the beach boys all day and all night. Loved ABBA!!! Andy Gibbs died way to soon. All my favorites on one video.
A lot of great talent here.
I love the Beach Boys, and seeing their music performed by ABBA, Olivia, and Andy is a treat.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Q coisa mais agradável, e discontraída, maravilhoso..... Bons tempos quando a música fazia sentido e as pessoas cantavam mesmo....!
i love when they sing "Baarbara Ann" and i laughed so hard at how Frida is so funny. georgous and funny....hmmm...she has it all( of corse, Agnetha does too)
They had fun, you can tell and it's fun watching them as well.
OMG!! Agnetha and Olivia in the same shot!! 🤗
Me encanta. Que bien canta Frida "Una Voce Poco Fa" del Barbero de Sevilla. Preciosa Mezzosoprano aterciopelada.
Felicidades para Frida!!! También para todos!!!

All amazing voices.
