Great vid mate.... people give me crap sometimes for fishing heavy but I've been done plenty of times on 60lb and I'm sick of losing trophy fish and expensive lures 😂. When your fishing heavy structure covered in barnacles they're extra hard to stop 😬
100% agree, I have been getting a few around weed beds just on dark and fish light because there is no structure, good fun as the drag screams as they bolt from the shallow weed back into the deep. But casting into tight fallen trees its back to locked drag and 50-pound leader.......and still get busted up. Hope you have recovered well from your surgery mate, tight lines.
@@danstocks2906 Thanks Dan, was a pleasure to meet you mate, hope you have been getting a few, was hoping to have another crack tomorrow Arvo but this southerly winds wrecked my plans
I like the idea of red hooks, I use a few lures that have red around where the gills would be so it looks like a wounded bait fish bleeding from the gills. Cheers mate I'll give it a crack.
I keep the odd one if it is hooked in the gills or eye and probably not going to survive, they are a tasty fish but only keep a few each season, too special to eat
Hey mate, been watching your videos since the beginning and love every time you post! I’m from your local area and fish a lot of the same spots (surprised we haven’t crossed paths over the years haha). I’ve actually just started making timber lures and wondered if you would be interested in trying some out? Would love to get some to you for you to test and give feedback. I have a mulloway lure I’m super happy with and some jack ones in the prototype stage. Let me know if you’d be interested 🤙🏽

Another great vid. I’ve been hitting that same creek a fair bit lately and I got smoked on the same log you did 😢
@@PaulVanDenBoom I think it's a monster jack that's collecting shiny lures to decorate it's home with 😂😂
Great to see you fishing this creek for a change. It’s a local to me and it’s good to see it on the big screen. Amazing stuff
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it, I find the spot a bit hit and miss but it has its days.
Great job 🎉🎉
Thanks mate, but still cursing the one I couldn't turn......but that's what keeps you keen I guess,
Sweet casting mate !!! deserved some nice results well done cheers for the upload.
Thanks Warren, appreciate it mate.
I was in Coffs a few weeks ago. No shortage of fish from my adventures walking.
Hoey Moey pub and the Latitude 30 seafood restaurant were great
Use to be great food at the Hoey, haven't had a feed there for years, thanks for watching
nice one m8 , gr8 spot, fish & conditions ... gr8 video & sweet tips keep them coming 👍
Still no "a" key on your keypad mate lol....shame that Southerly howled in, would have loved to hit it again. Cheers m8 lol
Go the bomber! Nice day fish too!Not sure if there’s an actual difference but I seem to always do better with red hooks on these.

@@209DYL Hey mate, are you on Instagram? If so send me a DM, would be keen to check out your lures.
@@LoveYakken No sorry I don't have Instagram
No worries, how can I contact you?
That sick!!!, still trying to get my first
Thanks Flynn, keep casting at those snags mate, it will happen.
Love your vids, what weight rod and main line do you run for jacks please?
@@ianrowan5156 Thanks Ian, this rod is an Ugly Stick Carbon, 3 to 6kg medium action, I have 30 pound braid on my reel atm.
Hey have u ever targeted Jack land based around there or can u only catch them on a kayak
Hard spot to land base, not a lot of access
Can you get jacks in Coffs creek or am I trying for nothingn
Every creek around here has jacks in it, I haven't fished for jacks there for a couple of years but they are definitely in there.
What pound braid do you fish when chasing jacks like this mate? I'm keen to get a new set up but don't want to go too light. Thanks!!
I was using 30 pound braid.
Thanks! Love the videos btw i watch them all :)
