Wow, that was a tough one, Julie. I have dexterity issues with my hands due to arthritis, so I'm afraid that sweet snail would've had to live out his days inside that mold 😆 He's adorable!! ❤️

Your snail is both adorable and elegant. Love the color choices, and the silver accent at the end truly brings it all together ❤️
Would love a resin video. While I have used resin in my turning projects forever, doing this kind of resin work is totally different and I am struggling. I watch these videos hour after hour trying to learn more, however an actual resin video would be so much appreciated.

I am new to resin crafting, and yes, I would love to see how to mix 1:1. I always have bubbles, and sometimes my resin is bendy even though I mix as I am supposed to. You have given me some great ideas on resin crafting, and once I'm more experienced, I will be trying more crafts. Your work is absolutely beautiful and very informative. Thank you for sharing ❤

Tip 1: Fill the antennae by putting tiny things in a straw. Pinch both ends (don’t want them to dump out), tilt one end into mold and release the “pinch”. Tip 2: hold a flashlight- torch?- behind the mold. You may be able to see if the section is full.

Oh, he's so CUTE! 😍😊 I LOVE this pearl snail, and the pink pearl mica is perfect! ❤ Pink puffy hearts are perfect for Valentines! They are gorgeous! 😊❤ And yes, that looks like 2 different pinks! Glad it set to the right color. 😊
Ohmigosh, a mini heat gun?!? What will they think of next? That's so cool! 👍 Now I want one (of course). 😅
I had no idea Let's Resin has a big snail mold! I have the medium size, and those cute eye stalks break off, every single time, no matter how careful I am with demolding. 😥😤 I have to poke out the eye stalk bulbs and reattach with UV resin.😤
Sure, a resin measuring & mixing video would be great for new resin artists! As I will watch anything you post (including watching grass grow, probably), I'll watch it and comment. 😊👍

He's still lovely, even with the little half full antenna! I kinda felt like we broke something after the demold and were trying to fix it before anyone noticed 🤣🤣. Would definitely appreciate a resin mixing tutorial as a resin newbie, I mess up in mixing a lot and my resin looks like a tornado helped me mix it lol...no matter how slow I think I'm mixing.

I use cheap liquid dish soap to loosen molds. You don't need a lot, however if you buy the 2x or 3x strength it's more difficult to wash off. I keep a small container about 2oz, . Mixed with water on my table along with a syringe.
Love the snail too cute 🥰

I was thinking, could you pour your resin in steps? Could you put maybe 1/3 or 1/2 of the balls into the shell then pour resin. When tacky, add another little bit of balls & resin? Do it in 3 or 4 sections. You used clear resin, so you don’t need to worry about a color, and the balls don’t bleed their color. Air bubbles arise, get little boogers!

That poor snail 🐌 had a tough time coming into the world lol 😂, is it possible to “ roll” the mold back against itself to remove the snail? I know some molds, like crystal points, you literally have to peel back like a banana, or is the mold to stiff? Anyhow it turned out cute… and I have to say that I burst out giggling when you said on video that you weren’t going to have a nervous breakdown… 😂 your humour throughout the struggle was priceless… ☺️

I would be planning to make some kind of change to that mold! Ugh! Like pour those antennas separately but make them a little longer from a new mold you make for them. And figure out a way to block those antennas in the snail mold leaving a 1/4 inch depression in its head. Then you will have a place to glue or resin the antennas in the 2 depressions you made in the head. Ii doubt if I could do this well, but I bet you can!
    Cool project!

They are antennae, but with the function of eyes. Snails do not have eyes or see like we do, they have antennae that allow them to probe the world immediately around them and give them a sense of their immediate surroundings. But the don't know much other than vibrations at a range, which is why they don't usually panic until someone picks them up. They couldn't tell there was danger until it clamped around their shell.
I hate snails, but this is a really artful piece! I think gold would've gone better with the colors you chose, but overall, a very pretty way to represent snails!
