    I have tried every single possible solution to this problem. I have the exact same problem in a 97 GSI. I just disconnected the regulator as you stated and it is the first time I've heard beeps from this machine sense August. My original problem started with water in the rear electrical box. And has finally shown some light at the end of the tunnel

    I would not run a Seadoo without a rectifier as that is an original part by design. Not sure what damage running without might cause. Glad video is helping others.

    Reverse on the battery can smoke the reed switch in the DESS post. Happened to me on a 03 RXDI. The key has a magnet in it that closes the switch in the post which sends power to the main power relay

    Thanks great tip. Did the same thing. Replaced blown 5amp fuse and now we have a running Seadoo..

    I have a similar problem with my 2001 GTI. The ignition button will not work, but the key will beep when you insert it. However when I get it running by holding the screwdriver to the starter solenoid it will fire up. When you pull the key out it keeps running. Please help

    Your exactly right about the videos , I have 2 of the same skis you do ... the one don’t beep and it will not accelerate . Cuts out . But I feel it’s the rectifier

    If your gauges dont work and you hear no beeps then test mpem at the fuse links and see if you have voltage with a volt meter with battery connected and lanyard key off post. If you do have voltage then run a second ground wire from negative on battery to the ground post inside the mpem next to the rectifier. If you do this you will get power and beeps and it will start. Problem lies in the stator ground either internal or at the plug!

      @@successfull0 same I don't know what's wrong

      @playfulmean videos mine turned out to be a lose ground wire to the engine. Also we found out the that our beeper was broken after focusing on why there wasn’t no beep so maybe make sure your beeper is working lol woulda save a lot of time on looking for an issue that wasn’t there.

      @@successfull0 I found out the beeper is dead, and after cleaning off corroded plugs I could hear a clicking noise when pressing the start button. I think the starter solenoid is bad. The rear end of the jet ski was sitting it oily water for years so that makes sense. Lol

    Do you have a link to where you did your research as to which mpem it is ? I'm not sure where I identify which mpem , thus which terminals to liven up on . Many thanks

    Thanks for the info. I currently have a 1998 Seadoo GTI and my mechanic said my MPEM is bad. I have been trying to test a way to see if thats really the problem. When you said you hooked up the MPEM to a power source did you just hook it up the the seed battery?

      Eilert Meyers - I used a 12v car battery.

      Run a second ground wire from battery to mpem ground post inside the mpem box . If fuses are good then check for voltage at fuse link . This will work if you have voltage to your fuses. Dont have to have the key to check for voltage

    Hello, I have one in the same year 2000, I bought it recently and I was testing it in the water and the red light of the oil stays on. I would like to know if that is normal or I should do any maintenance.

    • @XY-xk5ww
      @XY-xk5ww  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have it checked before running again. Could be both serious and costly if you don't have it checked. Good luck.

      Justin, sorry I had to watch the video since it's been years ago. Yes, I replaced the part you mentioned. No problems since. Good luck. I ordered of Ebay, just don't remember who.
