  • Just got Wooorld on the Oculus store, thought I'd compare it with Google Earth in VR :-)
    Wooorld is design for shared multi-player, Google Earth is not. That out of the way, check out the video and let me know what you think.
    I'm going to check out Wooorld in more depth - so leave a like and some comments to guide me further ;-)

    i love google earth, just something so satisfying about being out in space looking down on earth, and moving earth. i mean you can like either one you want and that is awesome. gotta say it's a treat to live in this time frame, where we can see our planet like we do.

      I agree, looking down on our planet in VR is awesome, imagine doing that in person in orbit :-)

      I love directly looking down a whole country in fixed human scale and panning my head left and right like I am looking at a gigantic map. Oh and every other feature. Soo damn cool. Although, I wish in the future they can finally 3D render the whole Earth and that the future of that is almost full scale realism at ground level :)

    Stick your head n the bubble for a quick look and the street view image changes when you move not when you point at stuff.. Nice video!

    Google Earth VR is absolutely brilliant, and it's free. I tried Wooorld when it first came out, and it was awful. I just couldn't see the point of it, and got a refund.

      Yes, and the graphics and maps are better in Google Earth VR. I wouldn't mind trying out the multiplayer in Wooorld sometime, that might be where it shines?

      Wooorld doesn't need a PC though, for folks that don't have PC VR

    Hi there! Thanks for the video. The blue pins you are seeing on the map are just the ones other people have saved. You can drop your of 360 Pins anywhere on the map to see a 360 image from that location in Wooorld. There are 220 Billion of them to explore! Simply drag and drop the "360 Pin" from your Hand Menu onto the map. Press the Menu Button (≡) on your Left Controller to open and close the Hand Menu. :)

    • @TheVurch
      @TheVurch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh, I think it because Google Earth VR uses, well Google for terrain data.
      And I suspect that Wooolrd uses Microsoft Bing for terrain and street level images that is not as good as Google Earth :-)

      @@TheVurch Wasn't Bing the basis for Microsoft Flight Sim latest excellence though?

    • @TheVurch
      @TheVurch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes MSFS does use Bing, it's still not as good as Google. People trid various patches and work around to use Google data in MSFS :-)
