Need Steam on a pc and Virtual desktop app

There has been a few updates since I last used Gravity Sketch. I'll check again on the PC version using virtual desktop.

@@TheVurch that'd be awesome, thank you. I've tried it on my desktop and laptop and haven't been able to figure it out. I'm using windows 10, quest 2 headset, and I've been trying to use the steam version and Virtual Desktop streamer but I haven't been able to use the wired way either for some reason. I can open the first menu screen but then fails to load the environment after. Oddly enough it will show the first frame frame of the environment on the desktop monitor...

Yeh, just tried it with the same result. Might pay to Ask Guy Godin in Discord. From memory and I mentioned it in the video, I had to install via Oculus runtime, then use VD and Steam, but it was a bust back then with the controllers, but at least it ran.

I just asked on the Discord support channel. I'm going to check out Freebird XR - a VR plug in for Blender (limited functionality. And also ShapeLab VR on Steam, but a paid app, and got some bad reviews recently trying to force people to a subscription payment model BAD !

@@TheVurch thanks a lot man i really apprechiate the help!! I've been poking around on the occulus version and it's surprisingly smooth given its running off of the headset, but I want to add some imported models (and a scan or two) and I'm sure the headset will get crippled with the extra geometry. I didn't know about the blender pluging for VR too I'll have to check that out. There's so much to learn!

I agree, looking down on our planet in VR is awesome, imagine doing that in person in orbit :-)

I love directly looking down a whole country in fixed human scale and panning my head left and right like I am looking at a gigantic map. Oh and every other feature. Soo damn cool. Although, I wish in the future they can finally 3D render the whole Earth and that the future of that is almost full scale realism at ground level :)

Just follow the link in the video description. Download and unzip the folder inside the local Portal 2 Steam location, and paste the launch text into the Steam Portal 2 game properties. I didn't have any issues, apart from some minor gittering on startup (using a relatively lowly 4060 Ti GPU). I'm playing on a Quest 2 using Virtual Desktop, so untethered :-) Note VD doesn't recognise it as a VR game, so launch SteamVR then runt launch the game on Steam.

Yeh, I think it because Google Earth VR uses, well Google for terrain data. And I suspect that Wooolrd uses Microsoft Bing for terrain and street level images that is not as good as Google Earth :-)

Yes MSFS does use Bing, it's still not as good as Google. People trid various patches and work around to use Google data in MSFS :-)

Great in V, hopefully the graphics will improve and be ported to standalone like the Quests. Also be great to be able to move around.

Hi, if you go their website you can reserve the glasses for different quantities (1,3 packs) for a $5 deposit www.tiltfive.com/shop . I will be covering the resolution and hopefully thru the glasses 3D video recording with a later YT video. But basically the projectors are only 720p, if they were 1080p that would make a big difference to the image quality, currently too many pixels spread out across an impressive FOV. Don't know about W11, probably, the discord channel would be the best place to find out, they are super helpful. Hope that helps, and check out my next vid, coming soonish.

Don't notice that, the chopping of the sticks seems about right. Maybe it's a TH-cam thing and will settle down. The walkie-talkie has dialogue choices to make that takes time.

@@TheVurch I checked out a few other videos and damn, some atmospheres look damned good. Really considering buying Odyssey... although my joystick is jittering really bad.

@@anonanon3066 EDO is getting better and better with updates and patches. But they are no longer actively supporting VR, so we are stuck with what we have, including the VR bugs. Pity about your joystick, sounds like time for a new one, if you can get one :-)

@@TheVurch it's pretty fucking idiotic. This game is just on an entirely different level in vr. Its a sim game and that's what sim games are supposed to be like. Super immersive. And that's what VR relatively affordably provides. Yet they ditch that shit for boring pancake play. Truly unbelievable.
