@@jumursikder6748 Li had a very difficult childhood. Her parents were divorced when she was four, her father remarried. Her step mother was very abusive towards her, don't know if her dad ever intervened, but her stepmom went as far as pushed her head into the river and beat her up for good quite often.
Her father passed away when she's 6, so her grandparents took her away from the evil step mom. They raised her, taught her many skills which she has shown us today.
Unfortunately her grandfather passed when she's 14, living in a poor life in the village, she had no choice but to quit school and try to find work to support her grandma. As grandmother became too old, Li came back to care for her, in desperation to try to make a living, the idea of becoming a TH-camr came to her, and thus, gradually, we came to know her.

my mom grew up in a chinese village too. She told me when one family butchered a pig they would split it up for everyone because they didn't have money for a refrigerator. The poverty forced people to share and work together :)
@@andy.8444 It is not the core reason to share because they have many ways to reserve it, such as using salt. The main reason is that they have that culture to share and help each other. This time maybe this family split pig, next time another family may split mutton in return. In the ancient, the limited resource maybe the reason why people needs each other. but now it just become culture thing.

a few months ago I showed this channel to my chinese mother who hasn’t been back to her country since she was forced to flee in the 70s. she became pretty obsessed as I think it reminds her a bit of the life she left behind as a kid. she even got me to make her a youtube channel and help her subscribe! every day now she’s in the garden growing new things, and i think it makes her really happy so I just wanted to say thank you liziqi!

When does this beautiful lady sleep? This is hard work. She never stops. Her food would fit into any 5* restaurant. Her presentation alone is worthy of the Ritz hotel. No wonder grandma lives for ever. When I saw the first episode I stumbled across my first thought was this is maybe a soap opera and she is an actress playing a part. But I was so wrong. Her embroidery stunned me that is not easy to do it takes years to achieve this skill set. I just saw the episode where we had a glimpse of her wardrobe after she made her purple woollen cape and picked up a baby lamb on her journey, the wardrobe is truly amazing. I was very depressed when I first watched one of her video. And then I got obsessed, I felt much better. I was just graduated from agriculture university, and I had no idea what to do after graduation. After watching her videos, I realized that I could turn my backyard into garden, which I did. I was in solitary mode, I liked to be left alone, so when my dad joined me, I gave up. I left my house, and my dad continued the work. When I came back, all my plants were ready to harvest, and my dad got excited even more. So now our backyard is full of vegetables and fruit trees

The way your grandmother greets you is the same way my grandmother greeted me when she was alive, with a 'Hey-hey' and pure happiness. Sometimes I cry at your videos because she reminds so much of my theatha (arabic). Her posture is similar. Her laugh is similar. A simple and honest way of being. My mother was not nice to me so meeting my kind-hearted grandma when I was 18 was a very big moment and healing relationship in my life. And the few times I was able to visit her and spend time with her I treasure deeply. A loving grandmother is one of life's greatest blessings. Thank you Ziqi for sharing your life with us. Well, as someone who has a garden that’s like quarter the size of hers, I’d say yes...and no... No, because hoeing, plowing, digging, planting, pulling weeds, watering, maintaining and harvesting is *really exhausting*. But also yes, cause honestly, being able to look at your dinner plate and say “yup, I made that”...that feels good, not gonna lie.

I'm sure even with English captions we miss some of the meaning, but it's nice to know what the ingredients are. Sometimes I go "so that's what that plant is called" and sometimes I spend a long time figuring out whether she's using sugar or salt or something else entirely. But i'm happy to watch these without captions as well, they are so captivating
I always feel extremely relaxed watching her videos. The views, her beauty, the food, even the soothing background music. It feels like I'm right next to her, watching her, enjoying the last bit of the scenes, like I'm right in her hometown, it just gets me.

In the 17 minutes I spent watching this, she's probably already harvested a cornfield, climbed to pick some persimmons, speared a fish or two, cut large rocks in half, made a beautiful pond, returned home to grandma, cooked with her, and finished a scarf to kill the cooking time. Obviously, it's more about the rural lifestyle, to take those of us who live in the urban areas to somewhere that's peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. You say don't trust Chinese as if every single one of them means you harm. I have issues with them in my own country but that doesn't mean they're all the same.
