i was upset that you got it during one of the only streams recently i wasn't watching live, but then i realized that if i had been there it would have caused you to hit different frames and not get the shiny, so it's basically all thanks to me that you got it (kidding obviously). huge congrats!

My first ever shiny, and my first time playing Pokémon emerald… I’m baffled… probably like my 40th encounter on this route Edit: just did the math, for me to find it on the first try (which it was pretty damn close to that) the odds would be (4/100)*(1/8192) which is a Mind Blowing 0.000122% Chance… like WTF!! I saw this on TUMBLR, the sudden whiplash of it showing up here is trippy
It was from an anti-drug program worksheet, likely because they wanted to demonstrate what drug peer pressure looks like without referencing any drugs anyone would actually take recreationally (or would be illegal to do so)

Shiny Pokemon in Colosseum and XD I think are just hue shifted rather than having whole new palettes applied to their textures so that's why a lot of them look very different from their core-series counterparts.
On my Sapphire playthrough, Ralts was the second Pokémon I encountered on route 102. I named it "2nd Coming" as in the second coming of Jesus, because ot felt like a miracle of biblical proportions. 😂 ... And then when I needed a HM slave for Surf and decided on using Lotad, I went back to 102 and found a Lotad in the second encounter, even though i've never encountered a Lotad on this route before. I called it "2nd, II 102", the second second coming on route 102.

Gard is my fav since I saw gen 3 for the first time and I still feel a little weird cuz I liked this pokemon before I turned into a teenager and met the... err... creative side of the pokemon community and the whole "pokewaifu" thing so I always think twice before saying Gardevoir is my favorite.

I love that the face sprites for the shinys are also using a frame from move animation too! Genius sonority really put in the work with these games. Cant wait to see more vids!

Would you ever consider an “Absolute Plays” movie for the first 3 gen games? These movies have kept me company on my lonely night shifts and long runs more times than I can count - I even listened to them to get me through the 4 hours of an ultramarathon! Would be incredible to relive those gb/gbc/gba games of my childhood through your eyes, and see all your 1/8192 shiny encounters!! Thanks for all you do Matt; I’m truly grateful for all your hard work :)
