I Played 100 Games of Pokemon AT THE SAME TIME

- I attempted to beat 100 games of Pokemon Sapphire at the same time, by using two shufflers holding 50 games each. By pairing controls to each game, I had to complete all 100 games to consider this challenge successful. Will I beat the game, or will I lose my mind trying?

132 people are streaming Pokemon sapphire on twitch right now. Rylockes is all of them
Best comment 😂 and most of them are just paused in time
Were any others there...
Yknow like chaotic meatball, Scott's thoughts, mah dry bread, jrose11..?
Are you being held hostage? Play every Pokemon game at the same time if you are, and play one game at a time if you aren't.
Here’s to hoping it is a hostage situation 😂
Or skip that and just play every game ever at the same time
Honestly, I'm shocked the 101st game managed anything. I thought it would be a "Pi Plays Pokémon Sapphire" scenario, lol.
to be fair it was the only game running over the full course of 100 hours so it was bound to stumble into doing something
im most surprised that it didnt pick mudkip. it should have followed the first two games and selected mudkip as well right? unless you cant do that choice in the first 3 minutes, im not super versed in the games to be honest. but yeah really cool that it actually got somewhere
@@bidoof367 pi has been playing pokemon for months and isnt even /close/. In fairness, you can question how the keys are being mapped to pi
@@tsawy6I wonder if AI could determine the most optimal button layout for pi and see if it improves.
@@octolockg5059 i found myself wondering if simply weighting by the relative button presses of an average playthrough/a twitch plays thing, might be sufficient...
The Sceptile in the 101th game even got Pokerus!
I don't see PKRS, am I missing something?
Is it that little . Next to lvl 36?
@@NathanCotrill i looked it up and it seems like that's the icon in gen 3 for when a pokemon has had pokerus and itd been cured
First thing I noticed too, why is no one mentioning this??
while cool for sure, that game being always active and probably battling 90% or more of the wild battles, it just makes sense.
The cascoon had it too
31:41 Hang on, do you see that dot on the summary screen on the bottom left, between the PokéBall and Sceptile's level? That means you had PokéRus and it healed over time. The 101st game accomplished something incredible.
The way my brain would be FRIED after doing this. Not functioning for a solid two days after the project
Pokélobotomy
I loved that abrupt ending. Like, "don't do it, bye."
I thought he was going to link it or something but that took me out, I indeed reconsidered
The Chikorita comment really hurt. I mean there are literally dozens of us that picked that as our starter 😅

I am part of the cult.
Me! I loved Bayleef so much, but my brother teased me for picking "the girly one" so I reset the game. Never got a Meganium.
@@Kmn483 bayleef just felt so cute and powerful especially considering the anime came out and there was a strong connection between Bayleef and Ash
I adore Chikorita. She beat up Falkner in my HGSS playthrough all by herself. Cracked baby.
Unironically one of the best pokemon videos on the platform. This is mindmelting and took so much effort. You've grown so much as a content creator, the talking head moments are absolutely fantastic.
I'm turned off from the very beginning by the clickbait. He is not literally playing 100 games simultaneously, but the title and thumbnail sure suggests he does
I think the reason Mauville became a major city in the remakes is because you visited it hundreds of times, and they thought it was popular
“Those 100 people are visiting again!”
Can't wait for "I played 1000 pokemon games at the same time"
if you run 20 sufferlers it would theoretically take the same time as this video

The money I would spend to get the raw footage of that final game.
For reeeaaaal! I wanna scrub through it and see what happened. Maybe watch on 4x speed
@@DKdropAt 4x speed it’d be 250 hours of footage!
@@yoshidababies4222 assuming it was played with the same 4x speed modifier the others had (which is probably the only way to get 107 hours of active gameplay, plus offline afk hours, to hit the timer cap), it'd only be like, 3 full days of footage at 4x playback speed
Absolutely insane lol
Btw, the Sceptile and Cascoon at the end had Pokerus at one point!
I am amazed that the 101st game managed to get a badge.
Considering that every other time he’s done something like this the final game did nothing, I was also incredibly surprised. I wish he could have recorded that game so we could of seen how that happened
Next up: I played 999999 pokémon from all nine generations and found myself crying at the corner, while the 1000000th mystery game had 8888888 hours and a missingno
I’m so glad you had a way of telling the system a game was complete. I thought the endgame was you staring at the hall of fame for 3 minutes waiting for incomplete games to shuffle in!
25:38 “for the first time we ACTUALLY have some struggles from the game running at 4x speed.”
Idk man those map interludes beg to differ.
Oh my god 101st game finally did something I'm shocked! Great video as always, you're getting better and better at voice over I can tell you!
Imagine if the two shufflers ran at different intervals.
101 games at the same time, and in only one of them the correct starter was picked smh

I have watched and enjoyed all of your videos but this one was by far the best imo! Loved the commentary and just how ludacris it was! Keep up the good work homie
8:13 "ooh, that's bad" while holding a playstation controller on a nintendo game.
My left ear is enjoying the pop sound that occasionally plays on this video.
The way you laughed after saying “succeeding for sanity” really made me question your sanity
This video is really really good! Seriously, great work man. I hope your channel starts gaining traction soon cause you're destined to blow up with videos like this lol.
This video was so much fun to watch! I loved the shuffler premise, it seems like it made things even more chaotic than if you did control all 100 games at once. The 101st game at the end was hilarious too! Thanks for making this!
The fact that game managed to catch two pokemon, learn an HM, and even beat a gym is wild. I’d be interested in seeing a recording of what happened in it if it exists (yes I realize it’d be extremely long)
Great video as always, these are always so entertaining and unique! I always love the mystery of the unseen game 😂
(Also I love your EEAAO poster!)
The focus system you developed is crazy, I love this.
I saw that thumbnail in my subscription box and laughed.
You're insane and I love that.
This is such a neat twist on the fully simultaneously runs, keeping track of all of them is def way harder with this method. I’m excited to see how it all pans out
The quality of your videos has just kept on going up! Love the videos!
This was amazing! This was so well edited and extremely captivating.
Best pokemon "let's play" ever, bro.
Completely random but love the Capitals shirt!
This is a suprisingly accurate representation of trying to anything when you have ADHD
More like this is what people think having ADHD is like. I assure you, as someone with ADHD, it's nothing like this. This is such an annoying stereotype.
@@xxMiraclesMay I have ADHD
@@aurochtamer Then why are you pushing the stereotype further? People will see your comment and think that we can't go more than three minutes without swapping to the next activity. =/
@@xxMiraclesMayif you don't mind telling, how does "attention deficit" part usually play out? I don't have ADHD and there are lots of memes that are basically "can only do one thing for 3 mins" so it's easy to believe that
@@ratspew932 Generally the "attention deficit" part of the disorder pertains to being unable to pay attention to a single subject for x amount of time. For me, this usually applied to long tests in school, chores around the house or sorting files at work. It varies from time to time, but it's indefinitely longer than "three minutes". I'd say 20-30 minutes at best before my mind begins to wander. And it literally only applied to things I was forced to do or things that were expected to be done.
Most people with ADHD will only suffer from this if it's something they do not enjoy or is time-limited, like a project for school or work. However, if it's something you enjoy doing, you could spend hours upon hours focusing on it and it alone. It can actually be pretty difficult to pry them away from their current fixation. I certainly know that it's hard to pull me away from my "zone" when I'm drawing. I will neglect to eat, use the bathroom, drink water, etc.
"Attention deficit" could also technically apply when you're given an order or asked to do something. Such as taking out the trash. You will be on your way to do the task, but will suddenly recall you did not put away your clothes or something. You'll put your clothing away, then completely forget that you were asked to take the trash out until you're reminded. As annoying as the whole "three minute attention span" is, the "walking into a room and forgetting why you're there" is indeed quite common.
A thin attention span is a problem we suffer from, yes, but a few minutes is such an over the top exaggeration. It can vary from person to person, but that's not how it works. OP decided to play into it, and I'm not sure why. Perhaps they are young and have not experienced the negativity that I have growing up with it.
How would the 101st game get sceptile? mudkip should have been guaranteed if it started at the same time as the first two games
Next step: 100 games all with randomized pokémon. (please ^^)
Great video!
Omg! I can’t believe I missed this in my feed so happy to see another upload 😍😍😍😍
Would love to see a stat breakdown of all the games. Which one had the most playtime / switches which had the least. Lowest and highest level etc.
Great video!
I cruised through the game with the Torchic line. I can literally beat the National Elite 4 (that’s the Elite 4 with the stronger teams, after unlocking the National Dex) with just my Blaziken in my party. And when I go through the Elite 4, I won’t take 1hp of damage. It’s literally all about having a diverse move pool. Take that Mudkip line.
How are you getting the inputs to each game? are you using a program of some kind? I'm trying to do something similar (although im trying four different games at once) but am not having any luck with getting the inputs to each window. Would be sick if you could share what's going on behind the scenes
The bonus game is always the most entertaining part 😏
This is one of my favorite nuzlocke concepts yet. I'm a video editor and I LOVE video games, but ideas, editing, and personality like this inspire me to want to make a channel so often. Keep up the great work, you're already a legend!!!
To think the TH-cam algorithm can recommend gold like this is wild
You know, I was thinking "hmmm, this challenge seems familiar..." then i realised I had watched a similar video a few months ago, even down to the secret extra game being played, only to realise the original video I watched was you! The quality of your videos have seriously grown in the past year and its almost unrecognisable! You should be proud of yourself and well done!!
congrats, i could not stay awake 107 hours, let alone play pokemon for 107 hours!
11:06 As a fan of Chikorita and it being the starter I almost always pick in hgss. I feel I have to defend the walking pear.
If you get female Chikorita, breed it with male hoppip with leech seed. You have a reliable wall. Both screens, passive healing, status conditions, with decent defenses at your arsenal.
Really good support player for the team. They don't deserve the hate.
Love your videos. Please make more! I would love to support them, though I understand why weekly videos are hard with these very intense challenges.
There was roughly a 1/819 chance of one of his saves getting a shiny.

Ryolockes's vocabulary : 1000
I loved the idea of the hidden game playing in the background.
felt the need to do the actual statistical probability of one game not getting chosen with 218 swaps (because its unfortunately not 1/218). i did (49/50)^218 which is equal to 1.22% if you did 99/100 as the probability, it shoots all the way up to 11.2%.
reason for thos enumbers is that you have to make a 49/50 check ever time the games swap, which is multiplying probabilities. so you multiply it by itself 218 times, or (49/50)^218
Thank you for this! It's kinda funny how often folks underestimate how complex these probabilities can be, but still put them up regardless because numbers sound authoritative and interesting.
Would you know how to calculate the chance that, within 218 swaps, *all* games end up being chosen at least once? I'd imagine it would be lower than one might think, but... I also wouldn't know where to begin with it. xP If you don't either, though, don't worry about it!
This is such an interesting experiment. Its like watching a human mentally undergo a machine learning algorithm. With each iteration, you find small optimizations so that by the 100th iteration, you can act as efficiently as possible
You need a pre shuffle warning to prevent misclicks
You keep Chikorita's good name out of your mouth >:c
(And also this is a fantastic video, as always. Your uploads are always a treat!)
Alternate title: Pokemon but my character have a demencia.
Alternative title : Can you beat Pokemon Sapphire with short-term memory only ?
I have stumbled across so many Pokémon TH-camrs lately with a very small following and unbelievably good content. What a time to be alive.
This idea is great! I'd love to see you revisit this idea. For next attempt, maybe duplicate a save file after completing the tutorial and getting the starter, then start shuffling the files from there. And then I think it would be cool to have the games that get shuffled to have a number and run timer on screen, that way you could see what file you are on and how often they are played. Super cool idea, thanks for the video!
Hey, new fan here! Subbing for your premium content, personality, and presentation. Wishing you a ton of luck in becoming one of the new top tier Pokemon Challenge TH-camrs.
Now do it again but as a Nuzlocke
This is absolutely not playing 100 games at the same time, yet still compelling
How... Is this man not more popular, seriously great work on these videos!
So what was the point of doing this? I thought it was to show the effect of randomness on games otherwise played exactly the same, but given your random shuffle every 3 minutes that basically rendered any attempt to gauge the games RNG meaningless because your no longer playing through the same situations pretty quickly as the games get out of synch. Was the point of this just to make multi tasking difficult?
Content
This actually sounds like fun. What shuffler did you use?
I'm guessing AAAAAAAAAA the Sceptile was responsible for getting your first badge.
good video, I do not approve the chikorita slander tho👺
Not to take away from your efforts, but the blind game is actually the most impressive accomplishment here.
While catching two Pokémon and winning one badge is easy, there is still enough precision in accomplishing those feats that I wouldn't trust an untrained AI to do it, let alone a blind play. The player has to do a lot of specific actions, like talking to the rival beyond the first two towns, talking to Dad at the gym, talking to Roxanne in her gym, acquiring and using pokeballs correctly, etc. That's not even including pathing precision and the fact that the blind game probably whited out a lot, probably getting teleported back home or to an early Pokémon center.
Given enough time, a blind game could beat the game as a whole, but i didn't think it would beat the gym by itself in the time alloted.
I liked the sneezing bit
I’m with that other guy, I think you should play one of each generation 1-5 (or so) at once and see what happens 😂
He already did, well 4 games anyway. th-cam.com/video/rqcPT7QjzYg/w-d-xo.html
Chikorita joke was wild because I love chikorita it is the cutest grass starter in the whole Pokemon universe 😅
I wholeheartedly agree!!
Such a cool concept !
Also Mudkips being named "AAA" because you pressed A on the other game is so funny 😂
You’re looking great Rylockes! You’ve lost weight, but your jokes still hit hard and heavy 🔥 Great content as always!
That secret game getting a badge is a massive W
it's SLACK-ing. cause it's a slacker.
In your 101st game you also got pokerus. Congratz!
You absolute mad man, this was a really fun challenge!
not only did your sceptile have pokérus and it got cured, it was also holding a permier ball hahahaha
Now do it again but with 4 shufflers with 25 games each
Honestly, I would have named the Mudkips with the numbers from 1 to 100
That probably would have helped you keep track of different aspects!
smart
Makes me want to do it too (despite the recommendation against at the end there lol), the setup just looks complicated haha. Gotta have multiple bizhawk folders each with their own shuffler each with as many copies of pokémon as you want each to shuffle between? Surely there's gotta be a shortcut I missed.
okay, how does the 101st game have a different starter when the first three minutes of inputs should have chosen Mudkip?
Spoiler:
I am very surprised we saw no shinies throughout all 100 games
The fact that the 101st game won a badge is absolutely nuts
Even more impressive is that the last game left out got the pokérus ! Pretty cool.
I don't know how you managed to get past the first gym, amazing video
you ain’t have to do Chikorita like that
What a cool challenge. Thanks for torturing yourself for our entertainment!
The 101st game makes me think of the "Pi plays Pokemon" stream by WinningSequence, and how it's still stuck in Littleroot after more than two years straight. The fact that you were able to get a whole badge with basically random inputs in 1000 hours makes me realize how poorly chosen the button assignment is in the Pi challenge, unfortunately. There's too much weight put on Start which means it spends too much time in the menu, unable to back out.
What it should have done was mimic the average frequency each button would be pressed during normal play, which is essentially what your 101st game was.
i didnt expect much but man am I glad I clicked on this video, great work!
Something I find fascinating about this challenge is seeing probability in action; if a move misses 5% of the time, that means on average, 5 of the games will miss it. (But since this is pokemon, it's more like 30 of the games will miss, let's be honest.)
This is the best PSA for not multitasking I've ever seen. Deleting water gun for bide is absolutely devastating 😢
I would love seeing the gameplay of the hidden game, even just the highlights. I wanna see how that badge was won😂
This video was amazing start to finish. I low-key wanna try this idea but I don't have the time to do so 😂
Sequel to this video: completing the pokedex on 100 games at once
i always look forward to seeing how the secret offscreen game did in these videos
Honestly I can’t believe the 101st game got a badge
Hell yeah game 101! I love Sceptile, and it got itself a badge!
That was certainly a wild one. Nice job having a 100% success rate learning Mud Shot, and a 99% success rate capturing Kyogre. And, even considering that it had over 1000 hours of gameplay time, it's impressive that the hidden 101st game managed to get one gym badge, probably by steamrolling Roxanne with the grass starter.
However, I'm shocked to hear you drop a couple of F-bombs during this video. I don't think I recall you swearing like that in your previous videos about playing 12 games at the same time. And, seeing how this is a Pokémon video that is more likely to have kids watching it, the profanity is definitely out of place.
Would you have to have a setup video or guide, I kinda wanna try to do this too with a few friends, but maybe not running 100 games But like 6, I'd love such a thing :D
I hope you never go to therapy
