- Today we are playing Pistol Harbinger in PvP and find out which of the two classes (necromancer or revenant) will make it to the next round.
In this series we put the new elite specializations that came in with End of Dragons against each other. What will the best PvP specialization be? Which EoD spec is easiest to pick up?
I wanted to make a disclaimer for this series and set the expectations right. Ever since I’ve gotten my legendary pvp armor before the release of end of dragons I’ve actually not touched pvp at all. On top of that you will see my very first matches on a new spec, so expect downstate POV, tunnel visioning and low awareness gameplay. However, this puts me in the unique position to put the new specs on a more or less equal playing field and make this series a bit more exciting for myself as well as for you.
My main goal with this series is to provide entertainment. Ideally it’s a good showcase of how easy a specialization is to pick up and might make your decision easier on what class to play next in Guild Wars 2 End of Dragons.
Please don’t take the winner of this series too seriously. It’s really just a fun way of putting specs against each other and naturally, losing and winning streaks will have a big impact on the outcome.
"Why did I choose metabattle as the website to pick builds from?"
I just like the layout of it and have had decent success with finding pvp builds there in the past. Sure, there are more specialized sites out there for different areas of the game (Snowcros: raids; discretize: fractals, …) but I enjoy how easy it is to browse through different builds on metabattle. Also the name of the website just fit the name of the series as a bonus :D
Shoutout to Guildjen as well for having a nice website with builds for all game modes!
If people enjoy the series, I especially like the idea of producing a second season further down the line either when there are heavy shifts in the pvp meta, big balance patches or when I just feel like changing the rules and including older specs as well. That way we can crown a king for each of the 3 different armor types!
Liking the videos helps a ton and provides good feedback to me. That way I can estimate if people are actually interested in this. As always, I’ll also be reading all the comments, so if you have suggestions or want to talk about your own experiences, please do so!

Since the interest in these vids doesn't seem very high, I'm not sure yet if I will continue the series. This second video is a lot closer to what I envisioned the pacing to be and the commentary mixed with the montage style was much more fun to make.
If I'm still going to continue, I will probably scrap the prep part and bake that info into the warm up game. It's not a build guide anyway and more about my first impressions and learnings of a new spec when taking it into pvp.
