Would have been alright if they did a brand new redesigned body for it. The squashed roof look is not the best and doesn't allow for enough clearance of the electronics as you say.

I could be wrong but I dont think this is gonna be the seller they wanted it to be, I'd buy the v2 over this v3
Morning James. Yeah, probably not enough changed to make people replace there 017. Although might be a better option for those that haven’t bought a WLtoys yet
@@TomleyRC could be guess it's down to the body, I dont use the stock radio anymore i threw a dumbo off in it. They are a blast to run!
Colors are so cool !!!
One thing bad about wltoys rc cars is the screws, they are very weak metal screws, by using the recommended perfect screw I managed to strip some screws. The screw insert plus hole wasnt deep enough, so I have to apply good amount of pressure for it not to strip. But overall they are great quality cheap cars besides the screw problem.
I've never been happier with a model than 124017 so I bought 5

Hi Tomley, will this take a 3s? I've just bought a 124017 and its pretty much identical 4300kv motor with a 45A ESC, dont know if I've got a Version 3 or 2.2 lol Dont know why they removed the 60A from the V2
so from v1 to v.2 to v.3 did they sort the slight receiver delay that v.2 had? i know cogging issues got sorted but then v.2 had a strange delay that was not cogging hence my query..not a fan of the splatoon colours LOL
Almost the same. They did a sneaky sneaky and actually downgraded from a 60a ESC to a 45a like in the 1/10 scale. No clue why.
I kinda miss the days when we had to assemble them. Everyone knew their cars inside and out because of. It was fun building my Tamiya Frog and later my Kyosho Optima Pro.

I have one on order. I'd like to buy a few extra batteries, but I can't seem to find anywhere what the correct connection is for this car. Is it the T, JST, SM-2P, etc.???
The fan on my 144010 makes the body sit crooked also.. kinda annoying but can be smooshed into position
Good video, I'm pretty sure that is the 60 amp esc. The 45 amp doesn't have the fins and is smaller up top. Correct me if I'm wrong through 😅
I love how they keep rehashing old models and Rlaarlo is doing fancy versions of all of them yet I'm over here just wanting a new version of the 124016 and 10427 and yet no one (WlToys, Rolaids or whatever, or LC Racing even) aren't selling any versions of either. Also now that I can afford a ZD Racing MX-07 they can't ship them to the US per Banggood 🙃

My new 124016 already came with those controllers.
I immediately fried a wire going to the motor right out the box. I connected the battery not realizing the car was on. There's no diagram about the on/off switch for the car in the manual only in fine print at the beginning
What’s the strength of the back wing like is it still produced from melted butter like normal

Loved the video, bought the car! Unfortunateley I destroyed the front right suspetion in a heavy impact while braking (no ABS though :D ), basically the wheel fell of with some crossmembers. Anybody an idea where to get the replacement? Any hints appreciated!

The new controller looks pretty, the thumb control is useful, but it all seems a bit gimmicky to me. It looks like it has a display screen, but doesn't....
They could easily have done something new, even added a front bumper.... But splatter paint body looks a lil "vom".
If they had made a pickup bodyshell (datsun pickup..... ) It would have sold it....
It looks like that should be fpv with the phone mount on the tx and crazepony make aio cameras.

I actually just bought an NB4, well worth the investment.
Arrma took the granite, changed the body, the shock's, the shock towers, the electronics and the transmitter and offer a new car(Vorteks)..wltoys did the same thing but their own way and changed only the transmitter to something more Chinese!😅

I ordered the new 1/12 Rlaarloo bugy in pre-sale for 150$ and I believe it's going to be better value then this wltoys. It comes with nice case and plenty of replacement parts. Hope we will see it in your channel Phil. Thank you for confirming I made the hopefully right decision

Honestly from the look of the new WlToys controller it seems that they might be rolling out of the same factory. Rlaarlo is just the Genesis to Wltoys' Hyundai.
The controller is completely way different looking like the one on the newwltoys. Maybe the older stuff 🤔 but not the new one.
@@karol0098 you know. My memory wasn't correct. lol Looking at it now it seems like maybe WL was going for a similar look but yeah, it's like if you described the Rlaarlo transmitter to an alien and had him draw it.

Tomley they have changed the electronics as the 124017v2 has a 60amp esc and 4300kv motor and this one the 124007 has a 45amp esc and a 4000kv motor
Edit..I wrote that before you took it apart and checked with your phone so the motors are the same BUT I'm looking at my v2 now and it's a 60amp esc and it says 60 on the box. So they've downgraded the esc for some strange reason
It's likely to discourage people from running 3s high c-rating lipos on an esc that clearly CAN do so in some instances if you're lucky, but just burns them up in most, then blames wltoys.

Not a fan of the colourway on the Buggy. I suppose it saves money by using a previous chassis that works well . If it ain't broke , don't fix it ? Kinda lazy though. All they have to do is design body and controller instead of cost to do a whole redesign . What you doing with the 017 with nothing in it Phil ?

Sorry I'm not going to thumbs up or down this. Good video, but I'm not a fan of WLtoys. I bought 2 of them. The 1st one came as 3WD, NOT 4WD, the screws were stripped and couldn't get it apart to fit it. 2nd one came as a FWD, instead of 4WD. So I'm getting my daughter a Capra. Can't wait for the next one.

Funny this car was unveiled the same day the new Rlaarlo 1/12 brushless buggy was available for pre-order. Same garbage, different livery.
what about the delay issue compared to V2 controller ? Also does all the wltoys rc now getting the new upgraded controller ?
