Held up well for what it is, could perhaps use a bit of suspension tuning too withstand those hard landings a bit more, though might simply not be enough suspension travel too absorb the impacts at this scale. Bit softer oil & then stiffer spring maybe would work but might feel rather stiff then instead for more normal bashing.
i was not expecting the chassis to snap lol. Since those driveshafts look fairly strong would you be able to check to see if it fits on the older wltoys models please.
The big question is do those new thicker axles fit the old WLToys models? I know the brushed and brushless 12th and 14th scale models have interchangeable axles but I have yet to find ones that don't bend within minutes.
Unfortunately they don't fit. If you swap the C-hub and the steering arm, then yes. The thick shafts need larger ball bearings. The slotted ball in the CVD tends to break in half, so the thickness doesn't help either.
Well Its not always a good idea mate, I have tried some lc racing cvd's on my 124016, much thicker than the stock ones, but surprise surprise, the lc racing ones breake, at least the dog bone part of It, for me the best option Is to use the wheels shaft part of the lc racing ones, combined with the dogbone part of the wltoys ones, other wise for me Its best just to keep them stock
As I have often said to Kev, if a buggy/truck/whatever can take that level of punishment before breaking, then it'll be fine for most of us (definitely for me). Fun vid as always.
My 1:10 wltoys brushed buggy has gone above and beyond all expectation. My friend bought a few traxas rtr and had to buy fans for esc. I laugh and tell him i paid 100.00 for my wltoys buggy and it comes with cooling fan on esc. And its temp sensor works perfectly turning on at an exact level of heat. Plus all aluminum chasis and shox while he has to buy upgrade parts to make his traxxas that way.
Great video and information. The newer chinese RC's seem to be going to the larger rear shell to get the motor out. I have a few newer HBX/Bezgar RC's that assemble in a very similar way to the newer Wltoys.
Great channel! On the skate park segment i got an idea for next time. Line up the car taking off or landing on the timing with the music. Great effect i see in skateboarding / snowboarding films.
It's still the toughest wltoys I've ever seen. I was going to swap the electronics in mine like you did yours when I do my review, but you covered that. I was a bit surprised there wasn't a bigger difference in speed though. My 124017 was able to do just under 60. Maybe the spur is bigger in the new one maybe? I really think wltoys is going down a good path with this car.
Speed runs are great, but I wanna see someone make a WLtoys 124019 or something similar viable for clay, dirt, carpet tracks. Working on that myself right now.
I would class that as durable for sure . Most people won't go anywhere near a skate park so seeing it do stuff it's not meant to being fair that's a win for wltoys . Was shocked that the motor upgrade didn't do much ! Can you fit a 540/550 size motor in this one Phil ? As would be interesting to see a large can motor and the 27t pinion from the older models speed wise . Great video as always . Stay safe Chris 🤙😎
Interesting as I’m looking into getting my first rc and the main thing I want to do is take it to a skatepark lol hence why I’m watching videos about wltoys since they’re RC’s are the cheapest I’ve seen
27t pinion is already fairly large, in fact on 2s it's too large. better results are achieved with a 15t pinion wich result in way more efficient (not speed wise) and take almost the same speed as stock.
i have a question the steering on my rc cr is not good it takes a very wide radius to turn it has been layong in our attic for 8 years so i dont know if it just needs to be used a bit to loosen up or not. and it always takes ages to start i also dont know if thats cause its been laying around for ages or what. it also produces a lot of smok. any help to anything i would be gratefull for
I can't wait to see what modi's people make with this one my guess is the motor mount off some of the other RC cars out there will fit this chassis 😉😁👌
Curious to see if wltoys will take advantage of the shipping/ customer service issues from rlaarlo as of late and launch an ak-917 competitor to earn back their place as the top Chinese rc company.
Good stuff the wltoys cars are great you can just knock one together and send it. Luv the JX Servo I use them aswell there spot on, great video and she will live again 🏎️💨💨💨
Great vid. I haven't been able to break mine yet. I think we got it to 50 feet launching at our local park. I couldn't believe how far these thing launch.
Lotsa people love watching things get bashed up because its not theres, but it breaks my heart because its an amazing piece of technology and for its scale certainly not meant for such silly jumps and abuse, but it is verry tuff for what it is thats for sure, i mean do that with a real car and just once would prolly be the end of that 👀, as someone who takes pride in anything i own and realy look after my stuff you would never catch me doing this sort of thing to my rc cars, (not saying you shuddnt though because its urs and you can do with it what you like ✌), i dont have any now but have hade a few in my past that ive given to my son or grand children but im planning on getting a couple again and wltoys seems the way to go 👍
c'mon man. If you are asking about the one on the desk it is RC10B6.4 spec'd for carpet racing. It is not designed for this kind of punishment. It is quite durable on the track, but bashing on concrete would kill it in seconds.
@@spiritofpostpunk7207 nah, this is 0 durability. they show in test thet jump few meters high, and landing. but they know how to land. I simply rolled over few times, and the whole shock thowers bend. poor quality, pain in the ass to take off screws, then back.
Jumping without the shock was a bad idea. I would love to see one of these with slightly longer travel so the body doesnt slam into the pavement every time you only jump it a few stories high 😊 Edit: forgot to mention that it looks rather MJX/HOSIM/BEZGAR now. I can say for sure that the metal front bumper/shocks looks exactly like my mjx buggy. frame tub is different but very MJX-esque, a-arms look beefier.
Tell you what them electric bikes they are brilliant. Good exercise saves time saves your feet. Some of them are on the more expensive side but well worth it in the long run. You'll definitely get your money's worth out of them. You have to do a review on that one day after you review a car. Just saying.😊😊
That was epic and not what I would of done to it but differently epic. Some of the landing was great and some were not so great. A lawndart landing is never good.
LOL, I Iove how the Traxxas wing held up! Nice vid. Keep up the good work 👏
Just seeing how that diff cover came off with your went to take out. The motor makes me prefer the older chassis even though I don't own either one
Tomley channelled his inner Talbot in this one loool
We, as the audience, have most certainly destroyed your RC today. What a thrashin. 😂😂
Didn't think I'd see that chassis break 😂😂
Those jumps are insane!
Tomley's evolving.
Held up well for what it is, could perhaps use a bit of suspension tuning too withstand those hard landings a bit more, though might simply not be enough suspension travel too absorb the impacts at this scale.

You should get one of those 1/5 scale bash rollers and put a motor with some nuts in it and try and jump that London Bridge or whatever.
Damn Tomley that was the hardest bashing I've seen on your channel :) I've ordered my 124008 last week. It looks like a tough little RC car
you're gonna love it I got mine a few days ago, but make sure you check the deffs!! mine was bone dry
Wonder if those CVD will fit other wltoys or are they like the rlaarlo ones with the step for the hex rather than a pin.
Sick bashing, Phil! Fantastic build!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You were driving like me..... Lol
Great video!

@@germanrccreations4519 thanks for the response. I really appreciate it!

I like that little car 😊 its quick and better i think with the plastic chassis.
Haha everything will break if you send it so high 😂

Samples R-Kelly… instantly cancelled 😂😂😂
It did well on the concrete skatepark. Took some hard front end hits 👍
Now i think It may be a good idea to put together again the 124017 and see if you can bend the chassis!!! 😂😅
me ive been putting money away to buy this for 2 months now and see you doing this makes me cry
Right I need to move over the pond your RC community is solid 😆
The witness marks on the rear diff show the diff input needs some shimming. Ohhh it's good to be back. I had no phone or tablet for almost a week.
Does that steering servo fit into the MJX?
Great channel! On the skate park segment i got an idea for next time. Line up the car taking off or landing on the timing with the music. Great effect i see in skateboarding / snowboarding films.
Great video Phil!
Chassis looks VERY familiar, MJX Hyper Go?
Wltoys are beasts o had the yellow buggy and the stadium truck before the prices went to the moon (kind of like this buggy lol) I love wltoys

11:20 = game over
Rc buggy torture in the skate park. End known like a killer in Columbo series.😂
ive got about 250 quid going spare ... any advice on a decent basher for that price .... love your vids , gonna cost ma a fortune
You're turning into Talbot 😀😀
Speed runs are great, but I wanna see someone make a WLtoys 124019 or something similar viable for clay, dirt, carpet tracks. Working on that myself right now.
That was a true torture test.
LMFAO
that last jump was epic tho🤣🤣🤣
Do you think you will be reviewing the new MN 128 soon?

Amazing video!
i usually avoid buggies, because with a shock mount design like that out in the open you're basically asking the shocks and mounts to break off
12:47 my favourite moment😂

This is exactly what I wanted to see someone do😂 thanks

Even my wife laughed at your new trick to get a buggy to back flip. Bite extreme though :)
Thank you
Are these the same size diffs as the mjx hyper go 16208?
hi tom could you tell me all the components you used to modify it
????
heyyyy tommm???
Hi how do you change from 2s to 3s ?
Tomley destruction derby 😵💫
Rebuild video?
As an audience member, I’d like to see you do a high jump video measuring the height of that ramp.
Curious to see if wltoys will take advantage of the shipping/ customer service issues from rlaarlo as of late and launch an ak-917 competitor to earn back their place as the top Chinese rc company.

wich model is better 007 or 008 and why?
The Italian sentence was like “ the girl said!!😂😂”
A RC barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology.
That was really fun, until it was painful
Great vid. I haven't been able to break mine yet. I think we got it to 50 feet launching at our local park. I couldn't believe how far these thing launch.
What I don't get is my 124019 is brushed and goes 38 mph stock. Why are these brushless and same speed?
Oooooh that yellow camero 😍
Ho tom whats the all name of the jx servo?
Damnit Phil stop blaming me, 😂😂😂

Hi tomley when can we see some more mini monster trucks
I think you're mistaking a control car for a drone! 😂😂😂
Greetings from Paraguay
Philip, why not do the same with your team associated buggy like comparison between the two. Lets see which one breaks faster than usual.
c'mon man. If you are asking about the one on the desk it is RC10B6.4 spec'd for carpet racing. It is not designed for this kind of punishment. It is quite durable on the track, but bashing on concrete would kill it in seconds.
the 124017 got the better esc, motor, AND that got metal chassie, metal shock tower if I'am right. Is it any point to go 124008 instead?
It's more durable
@@spiritofpostpunk7207 nah, this is 0 durability. they show in test thet jump few meters high, and landing. but they know how to land. I simply rolled over few times, and the whole shock thowers bend. poor quality, pain in the ass to take off screws, then back.
Kinda disappointed man you pulled a Talbot …… 🤨. You’re better than that!!!! As always great video but man……
Are you based in Lincoln because that skatepark is my local one
Kevin, why...oh, sorry, my fault, wrong channel 😂😂😂
Those long jumps…aka FLYING SQUIRREL
Echt crass was das aushält bevor es kaputt geht 🎉🎉
That was quality, thanks! 😁
Great job!
Honestly it took one hell of a beating your average bloke won’t kill it
dang that thing did take a beating though

The legendary bit of wood trick.
🧬🧬 the previous model with the metal chassis, i think is a better car
Best lawn dart ever
Love the lazy bike... Great content as usual. Sorry for your loss
Well there's Todd Ed, then there's Re Todd Ed.
FA U! 😂😂😂😂
You need to be using the hypergo truck handles a lot more abuse I know because I owed both of them and I my hypergo never broke my wltoys in pieces😮
Crazy!
Fortunately, I don't have any opportunities to make high RC car jumps in my habitat. :p nice video anyway

Proper torture test

3mph difference, standard is doing very well then
Servo fits like a glove on a chicken's lip!
Hey there friend ,from California 510 good to see ya out having fun.
Oh snap!
Phil, had too much time with Kev. 😂
Can you do a vidio on the traxxas e revo 1/16 please
