Got to say it’s hypocritical how Commander West gets all defensive and later says back in the day they had to bend the rules to serve justice but then he gets furious when Nolan and Nyla investigated Armstrong without going through the chain of command. At least they caught the dirty cop.

Seriously
The keywords are "Back in the day". The system has improved since then, which is way he got furious about them going around the chain of command
At the end, Commander West tells Officer West to get out of his sight, but Commander West continues to stare at Officer West.
Cause him and his dad had problems before

Plays as an ex-convict on CBS's SWAT and plays as Commander West of Internal Affairs on ABC's The Rookie. Damn role reversal.
Talented acting!! I loved him in Mayor of Kingstown too - he was a Prison Administrator so he's literally in the middle and all over the place!!
Don't forget, he also played an air force colonel in stargate Atlantis and commanded the the Apollo.
He also played a priest the episode Lucky on Criminal Minds, season 3
Also a biker gang president in Sons of Anarchy who later patches over to the Sons
Also a paramedic on Third Watch
The fact that Percy s dad gets so defensive speaks volumes he s hiding something from his past Oscar did say he killed that guy but when they couldn’t find a murder weapon West dad planted the gun there
If my son accused me id get defensive to how would it feel knowing your own flesh and blood
Would think that of you
If he made that type of accusation against a superior he would be out of the job the next day
I understand that but his dad is still hiding something

It's possible for a convicted felon to tell the truth just as it's possible for a non-felon to lie.
Key word "possible" we have a thing called credibility and it's far more probable a drug addicted felon would lie a lot more than non-criminals.
It is possible, but it is also true that criminals are mostly habitual liars who will lie even when it is in their best interests to tell the truth.

Its crazy how many people from Sons of Anarchy also played in the rookie. Percy West was T.O. Cross, Armstrong was Pope, etc.
Good actors with good parts...
I loved him as Col Ellis. Played a strong contrast to the leadership styles of O'Neill, Carter, and Caldwell. Solid actor!
The Rookie is great TV Show
West's dad sounds like Pop smoke
and looks like Steve Harvey
I think he's dirty. I don't have proof yet but I am almost certain.
He's a rookie and boot is so shy lol well in the first few seasons anyway. But,poor boot!😩
Great show but I don't really like Jackson with his arrogant, holier-than-thou, self-righteous attitude. Really hope it has a season 2
It adds depth to the show by having Manny different types of characters. Sorry everyone wasnt a drone for you
Jackson sucks. He's extremely annoying.
Guilty as hell lmao
This entire story continues to set up what Jackson is this noble high horse character who is driven by self righteousness rather than practicality.
Or maybe he just cares passionately about doing the right thing.
Isn't the guy who plays Percy west the same guy who plays as Leroy in Swat?
Yes it is
Yes. He was one of the teachers in Lean on Me

Michael Beach? Wasn't he Darryl's dad on swat? What's he doing here?
I have mixed feelings about this.

Yes. That's his dad.
Apparently though it's presented in the sense that he did it because people would have walked if he didn't.
