Years of playing and I still instantly build a chicken autocooker by default. We've got a fancy one though. It's got diverter so that I can switch between getting raw chicken or cooked chicken and a large pen that I can hand breed them with seed for. Every time I log on there are so many that the first thing I do is go fix all my gear. I breed them with spare seeds, then kill them. That usually can repair a couple pieces of equipment fully, and it all gets sucked up by a hopper cart. I trade the feathers and raw chicken with a villager (still need to zombify and cure him for better trades) and then trade with a villager who has golden carrots (he did get cured... 1 emerald for 3 golden carrots. Eventually I want to make it so that there are 2 pens for the chickens so that after each round of breeding the baby chicks end up in a separate pen so I can kill the adults but let the babies grow up so they are worth XP. Any time we log on we have to kill the chickens. If we don't the server lags. (I think usually when I cull them I get something like 8 stacks of raw chicken...)

0:05 the sad face is a creeper (nob monster) they're basically the mascot of Minecraft.

  • @Jack_Wolfe
    @Jack_Wolfe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +71

    INFORMATION:
0:39 Sounds of a skeleton being damaged (skeletons and zombies catch fire in the daylight.)
1:04 "Auto Jump" is on by default for new installation of minecraft.
1:17 Axes can be used to specifically attack ONE target. while swords swing and hit multiple creatures good and bad.
1:38 pick axes obtain more damage from digging the wrong material. Soft materials like dirt are harvested faster with a shovel.
2:08 annoyingly Trees in minecraft dont break when disconnected from the ground so most people enjoy the mod "Timber"
2:08 more expensive material tools have more durability and harvest blocks faster.
2:12 "Nob Monsters" will always seek you out in an attempt to destroy your buildings and essentially kill you.
2:12 "Nob Monsters" are hard to hear, so if you hear the hiss RUN. Armor can reduce damage received from them. letting you survive one explosion.
2:12 items on the floor when a "Nob Monster" explode will be destroyed.
2:58 "wonky tree" = Acadia Tree, found in planes areas.
3:22 coloured block is "dried clay" making a block from clay you can then COOK it in the furnace. Most Desert and Acadia villages have these blocks.
3:33 "Sad face block" an alternate look Sandstone block. Made from sand.
5:06 Zombies spawn near villages in an attempt to kill the villagers Iron golems save them from this, BUT the village needs a specific population.
5:40 to avoid falling off the edge of a block, hold CROUCH, this will lock your character onto the current level of blocks.
5:55 ladders are built in the crafting bench. Most experienced players have a stack of sticks and logs to make basic supplies if they run out of anything. (example tools and torches)
7:08 the coin sound is XP orbs being collected. The bar is your XP bar. XP isnt useful early game BUT will come in handy when you start enchanting tools and armor.
7:42 "SHIFT CLICK" can load multiples of materials into a recipie, then "SHIFT CLICK" on the result will give you ALL the materials used for the item.
8:06 Traps prevent crypt looters. Under the floor is enough TNT to destroy your dropped inventory. Pressure plates can be mined without triggering the TNT.
9:11 materials have a tier of tool needed to mine, if mined with a low tier tool the block will take forever to mine and drop nothing.
10:32 one block of Water can be picked up with a bucket, putting two blocks of water diagonal to eachother will fill the square in between with a new block of water.
10:32 Buckets filled with water can place water blocks on any side of a block, and will then flow outwards horizontally 11 blocks, or down forever.
10:44 pigs can be tempted to follow with beetroots and carrots. feeding two of them carrots with make them breed. Animals do not have specific genders.
14:51 bees can be trapped, Bees like flowers. A Bee can also indicate an existing hive. Hives give honey. Honey requires glass viles
17:00 Animals do not need food to "survive" for animals food breeds, heals. Sheep need grass blocks to get a new coat of wool.
17:34 campfires dont work the same as crafting benched, hold the meat and click it onto the top of the campfire, and it should show up around the edge of the campfire to cook.
17:50 Fences have a collision box of 1.5 tall in blocks when the tops have nothing above them.

I love watching Matt have all of the basic Minecraft experiences and learn all of the early-game strategies:
    - Punch wood
    - Full hunger restores health
    - Always have a pickaxe and a sword
    - Water negates fall damage
    - Creepers (Knob Monsters) don't burn in daylight
    - Steal everything from Villages
    - Mining stairs to get out of holes
    - Don't trust sand
    - Collecting all the animals
    - Animals can't jump on fences
    - Beds are respawn points and let you skip the night
    - Falling into ravines
    - Getting killed by temple traps
    - Bring a crafting table with you
    - Crouching let's you hug the edge without falling
    - Making your first house
    - Making said first house out of whatever blocks you've come across
    - Not building a roof
    - Building a roof, but it's just flat
    Can't wait for:
    - Falling into lava
    - Mining straight up
    - Mining straight down
    - Finding your first diamond
    - First time in the Nether
    - First time using an ender pearl
    - Wtf is Redstone
    - Thinking you understand Redstone, only to realize you've only seen the tip of the tip of the iceberg
    - Wait, this game has mods?

am i the only that doesnt rob villages blind? i take the loot and food of course but i usually leave most of the stuctures alone. sometimes ill even touch it up a bit and make it look nice, especially if its near my base cause chances are ill be coming back to that village frequently to do village trading. i like the feeling that im entering an actual village to deal with merchants and not just going to a nearby collection of ransacked houses and throwing emeralds at them.
ever since the village update came out my one friend has been almost guaranteed to start a village managing project at some point. on our realms server he renovated a desert village into this huge ancient greek inspired city complete with a city wall with guard towers. he had houses and shops for all the villagers and spent hours reassigning jobs to make sure they all had the best trades, and then he leveled them all up to max. its still so impressive every time i see it, so fun to go and make trades at the marketplace

However he never spawned in a village as 1st experience, he was in the wilderness, thus figuring out punching trees and crafting tables etc. long before he saw a village, meaning he woulda got practice of what each button does, now if instead he was in a Village as 1st experience then things all of a sudden for 1st time players get more spicier, tbh I kinda liked the current way it played out, and he is being carved as a player bit by bit into the game, learning the experiences not all harshly all at once.

As someone who is very experienced in Minecraft, watching someone new to Minecraft, I would have to say you are doing pretty well. Minecraft is a very deep game that has a lot of moving parts. It takes a long time to unpack and understand it all. Something an experienced player will see in this video; I see you learning how to coral mobs into a pen. While simple in theory, it is important at all stages of the game, even late game, to be proficient at trapping and keeping mobs, peaceful and hostile alike.

Animals won't die over time, they don't need water or anything but you can reproduce them by feeding two of them with food by right-clicking them, you use carrots or beetroots for pigs and wheat for cows and sheeps.
If you need to get out of a hole like the temple you can just tower up by jumping and placing blocks below yourself repeatedly.
To transport water, you need a bucket made with 3 iron ingots.
You can make farmland by right-clicking with a hoe on dirt and you can plant wheat seeds, potatoes carrots or beetroot, but the farmland will dry out and become dirt again if there isn't water around. Water can humidify up to a 4 block radius of farmland around it so it doesn't become dirt. Also if you jump on farmland it will go back to being normal dirt.
The giant is called an iron golem, it will attack all monsters except creepers which are the green ones that explodes.
Monsters will spawn in dark places. So they will spawn when it's night, in cave, etc... That means you can stop them from appearing where you don't want to by placing torches.

just a tip, you can if you hover over a item you can hold shift then left click to move your items faster instead of dragging it everywhere
You can also hover over the item and the click 1-9 on your keyboard to put it in your hot bar(bottom row, where you pickaxe, sword etc. )
You can also dubble click (left click) on the item then it will stack all the stackable items that are the same faster, instead of selecting them one by one

Just wanted to say, you're doing great! Learning things surprisingly quick in fact. But either way, it's fun to watch someone new experience the game and be surprised by things haha

When he went into that temple and pushed that pressure plate. I just shook my head and thought oh crap no. Please do not step or push that pressure plate. But yeah he pressed/stood on it. Ah well. You need to buddy up with someone who can show you what to do!

You don't realize how fun it is to watch you see the game new. You give us all a chance to get that feeling again. You are not embarrassing yourself. We know you are doing it the hard way with as few spoilers as possible.
For many people, you are literally letting them relive the joy of their childhood.
