Venom let there be carnage was a decent movie but if it was rated R it would have been SOOOO much better the prison break scene should've made grown men have nightmares
Now that's something I can agree with idk why they made them both pg13🤣🤣🤣 I mean think about this do you think Logan would have been the huge success it was hell no cause we all remember x men origins wolverine 🤣🤣☠️☠️
@@Alteori the cop who got powers at the end, that wasn't him getting powers, idk if uk but in the comics, that cop turns into Toxin(another symbiote(carnages son)) so i belive a piece of carnage fell on him or something, i mean that wouldn't be far fetched because carnages body is like really loose and a lot of drippings fall off of carnages tendrils
Yeah knowing the comics, they definitely added a big change to Carnage & Cletus. Biggest thing being in comics Cletus & Carnage are actually perfect together & almost never disagree.
Ya, even in The Comics and "Spider-Man:The Animated Series" that "perfect symbiosis" did not happen right away and in "Spider-Man Unlimited" Carnage seemed to view Cletus as merely a disposable tool and conduit through which to unleash the Synoptic Symbiote Hive Mind`s power across the multiverse!
Yh, the only time I know of when they didn't both agree to something was when cletus died and the carnage symbiote bonded with his body and brought him back to life
The biggest problem for me in this movie is Cletus' and Carnage's relationship. In the comics they had perfect symbiosis, probably the strongest bond out of all the symbiotes, so much so that the Carnage symbiote acted like Cletus and Cletus' blood was fused to Carnage. Dispite that I enjoyed the movie.
From what i understood in the comics, when cletus got the symbiote, because it was just born, it was a blank slate, bonding to cletus and in a way, imprinted his mentality onto the symbiote, more so than the other symbiotes get. Theres also the stuff with codex, where bonding to a symbiote means it LEAVES some of its dna in u when u bond to it, and more stuff with Cletus from absolute carnage, but THATS for another day😂👍🏾
@@chriss.249 loved the Absolute Carnage and King In Black storyline, loved the Extreme Carnage storyline too and I can't wait to see what Carnage does next. Hopefully Carnage tries to revive the left over remains of Kassidy in some way using the Ironman symbiote suit so he can truly be whole again.
@@BSM-vw6cf Oh king in black was FIRE. I loved peters speech to dylan about death. I really related to it. I haveng been able to read extreme carnage all the way through(where cletus takes control of other symbiotes) but I AM going to the comic shop over the weekend. Im excited for what they do with Carange next too, however i do think maybe they could slow down using him so much. I think they can do more with other enemies besides constantky throwing red and dicey at us so often😉👍🏾
@@chriss.249 the new Venom comic warns of a threat to Eddie's throne, I'm not gonna spoil how but it's so vague. Could it be a new threat? Knull's return? Or Carnage himself after the throne?
@@BSM-vw6cf I think it's definitely carnage with the way they been building up what cletus can do. But hey we could both be wrong... it could be Dylan☠
I love it when Alteori smashes the stuff the studios expects the audience to not notice or be annoyed with. That restaurant scene gave me the same reaction.
@@kingfabaro2705 cough cough mark from invincible. Dude is given the shit for being a bad boyfriend by everyone even when his girlfriend was a narcissistic manipulative crappy person using people to feel special.
Venom talked about the symbiotes having a hive mind of knowledge across universes, which means he recognizes spider man from his alternate universe self, that’s why he has a distaste for him
but it aint the same spider man that took him off its a completely different one it will never make sense and to add on the universe this spiderman lives in hasnt met symbiotes as far as movie wise
@@kingtaylor6234 gor the god butcher has a symbiote, and he will be in Thor love and thunder, also, its true that they are not the same spider man but they are still the same person, still Peter Parker, venom knows that Peter Parker killed him in another universe, and since Tom Hollands Peter Parker’s identity was revealed venom can see that same name on the daily bugle broadcast, and hence has a distaste for Peter Parker(s)
@@logiprime just because they have the same name and powers doesnt mean anything they have different experiences and have come to different revelations they are not the same person at all the spider man who venom hates disliked his abilities at some point due to them ruining his life while the new spider man clearly embraces it from start to finish its clearly a lazy tie in(also that thor movie has yet to come out so it explains nothing)(2003 spider man had more powers and less tech new spider man has to use web shooters so not even that is the same)
@@michaeldavis3596 the design looks awesome but yeah there's something off for carnage I was even surprised that the priest lasted a bit longer coz I was expecting that carnage would straight up end him when the wedding was over
"The Lethal Protector" thing was the name of the first (maybe) Venom solo series of comic books. Where, belive it or not, Venom was almost more goofy than the one of the movies
The panel that stands out to me is when he saves a woman from being mugged and gives her purse back, pats her on the head, and she just runs off screaming.
The only problem I had was with carnage himself character wise him and Kassady r supposed to be so crazy and perfect that they say "I" not "we" or argue about anything
Fr and Carnage dawns Cletus personality and it's bad because if someone else merges with the carnage symbiote they end up becoming Cletus Kassidy (personality wise) just like Norman Osborn
To clear up the shriek saving Cletus from bullies thing, Cletus was on the ground while the bullies were standing up and she was a tad bit taller than them. Plus her powers were weaker at that time. So cletus might not have been in range. And it also a crudely drawn flash back. What happened is clearly a stylized retelling of those events. Shriek might have just pushed them and screamed when her back was to Cletus.
Next reviews you should do should be the ENTIRE Land Before Time series..one movie at a time. 🤣 I’d love to hear your take on the abundance of sequels.
Ill say, after watching clips and compilations(doesnt give the full movie but i get the gist), the movie isnt exactly bad. My problem is being a comic reader. Carnage is able to ragdoll BOTH Venom and Spidey at the same time. So venom being on his own without spiderman in this movie kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Cletus actually struggling for control of the symbiote was off to me, as again, in the comics he had complete control of it(as the symbiote was a new born when he got it) but ig it does stand to the theme of the movies, unity. Cletus being a reluctant killer was strange (in the comics he did it on purpose as he wanted ppl to experience true life as they died) but imo i feel its a decent change. They took a decent amount of liberties from the comics
Cletus also has better control in the comics because despite the original Carnage symbiote dying after his first appearance it had somehow fused to his very blood.
Only issue I had was when Eddie told Venom ' look they are not in full symbiosis' In comics Carnage bonded with Cletus much better than venom and Eddie ( as far as I remember they might have changed it a 100 times by now' thats why Carnage always talks in first person but Venom always says 'we'
@@ZDK14 Even in The Comics and "Spider-Man:The Animated Series", that "perfect symbiosis" you speak of was not immediate. In fact, it only really started at the start of "Maximum Carnage" when Cletus cut his arm open and stuffed the Carnage Symbiote inside the open wound before escaping from Ravencroft!
I didn`t see the ending so much Cletus being a reluctant killer(After all he did commit 11 murders on record and boast of dozens more like in The Comics) as him justifying his actions the way many serial killers do and the way Cletus himself did in earlier Comics, remember Cletus being bonded to the Carnage Symbiote as long as he was eventually made him even more psychopathic, homicidal and nihilistic than he was to begin with!
When Eddie said that Cletus and Carnage weren’t symbiotic, he wasn’t wrong. Symbiotic means that they are both focused on achieving the same goal. At that moment, Carnage was hurting Francis, and Cletus was telling him to stop. The two were fighting, and, therefore, were not symbiotic.
I like the video and I agree you're free to disagree but I think the reason why Carnage and Cletus kasady separate from each other and why they were still able to work together even though they weren't symbiotic is because Carnage is actually Cletus kasady blood so Carnage is kind of stuck in Cassidy
Lethal injection is very painful actually, they just can't do or say anything because we either put them to sleep or paralyze them. Its actually pretty horrible.
@@Alteori Yes and no. Its both a sedative and a paralytic agent, and you can still see the pain receptors firing even while heavily sedated. There are even documented instances of the sedative not working, and people opening their eyes only to be paralyzed and not be able to say anything. Its pretty bad. Unfortunately the most humane way to end a life is very frowned upon. The guillotine has 100% success rate and stops the feeling of pain immediately. No waking up paralyzed, not hit them again because they aren't technically dead, no nothing.
@@Alteori Lethal injection is more humane for the viewers. Because when done right it just looks like the douche goes to sleep. We honestly don't know how painful the experience is when done correctly. There's evidence either way. Honestly The Chair when done right might be more humane for the condemned. Despite looking horrific with the twitching and seizing up, all that current going through their head most likely scrambles their brains into non awareness pretty instantly. However as mentioned above Madame Guillotine might be the most humane despite being the most gruesome to watch. The sudden drop in blood pressure most likely causes the condemned to pass out seconds after the head is severed. However anecdotal evidence from The Terror in France suggests some victims displayed awareness in their heads for up to 18 seconds before dying.
@No Name Not necessarily true, there are people who get executed who are innocent, and we don't find out until many years later after its done. Thats probably the driving reason for us to make it painless just incase. I agree that if a person is 100% guilty of a heinous crime then Fuck em, but since we don't always get it right (even if its rarely) its the least we can do. I personally don't like that we keep them locked up for so long just to do it either.
I saw the first movie not a long time ago and it was good I liked interactions between Venom and Eddie. I haven't seen the second one yet. That scene when Eddie got invited to dinner by Anne just so she could tell her she is married. If I was in Eddie's situation I would have probably released Venom. I experienced something like this and it really hurts so I would be really mad.
Venom isn’t exactly a simp, since he’s bonded to Eddie, Eddie’s wants are his wants but because he’s a symbiote he’s a lot more open about it. That’s why he’s sorry he can’t cure a broken heart, because he feels what Eddie feels but dialed up to 11.
I personally liked the movie. Probably because I’ve never read the comic books but I am familiar with Carnage’s powers and abilities from the comics. Also the word is Symbiosis I think
Carnage and Shriek in Venom 2 >>>> Joker and Harley in SQ. Because in comics, Carnage/Cletus really loved Shriek, while Joker never loved Harley the way he showed in the movie. I liked this movie a lot more than the first Venom (that I hated)
11:40 Not really.. Joker doesnt Care about harley.. Cletus/Carnage does care about Frances/Shriek.. the issue is both are Victims of Trauma and are not compatible with each other.. they lack tolerance for each other accidental aggression.. you can see this with Cletus & Carnage internal conflict about Frances/Shriek.. Cletus Wants to be a better person for Shriek but Carrnage get hurts badly every time she uses her powers. .. it tragic relationship doom to fail. while joker on the other hand Grooms Harley
One thing this movie does right is the symbiotes, both Venom and Carnage look fucking awesome. Also I personally love the humor of the movie. My favorite line is: "Time to die father!" "*Scared priest noise*" "Not you father. You father!"
7:24 ... you have to take on account that Cletus is just telling Eddy the side of the story eddy wants to hear as a way of mocking him .. the version where Cassidy is just a monster.. and not a victim of the situation.. we dont really know if he kill the dog out of malicious intent , self defense or by accident. all we really know is the world around kassady has frame him as just evil. but later in the movie Cletus complain about none of this narrative being any close to the truth. now in the comics this has more to do with writters not really being able to decide if kassedy has always been a monster or whatever they are victims of the world. but the movies does this interesting choices that for some reason never fully lean toward them.. like Shriek 's only crime being having being born a mutant. and playing on the idea that this so call evil people are just victims of the world around them .. part of me thinks that at least some people in the production of this films...understand the idea that a "leathal Protector" its kind bad joke.. kind of like peace maker in the suicide squad .. because eddy stop some people here and there.. but the conditions that created does people remain unspoken ... so venom and eddy are hardly doing anything to actually make their world a better place.
I would say it wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. The CGI was improved and significantly better, but the story just felt like a really long episode than just a movie. Felt like a Venom 1.5 and not a sequel.
Also, another thing that was "in the comics". . . When Eddie was in jail, he happened to share the cell that he was in . . . with Cletus. So, when the Symbiote bonds with Eddie to become Venom again and "they" break out of jail, a spawn of Venom is left behind and latches onto Cletus. I actually remember this one part, when I was watching it with my brothers at a friend's house: Cletus: "Why isn't it coming to me?" (unknown person): "The Symbiote won't come to you, until you willingly accept it as its host." Then Cletus says: "Let's go, I'm ready here." Again, this is what I remember from that cartoon.
11:08 symbiotes can repair any damaged tissue and destroy it as long as cledus' mind and major organs are intact carnage can do what ever he likes. I don't know if I spelled his name write.
The reason why the cop has the powers is because they’re following the comics of how carnage had a kid that went to the cop and it made a symbiot called Toxin.
Haha, thank you so much for doing this review! I was so excited for a Carnage movie! But how can you have CARNAGE without it being Rated R?! This should have been called "let there be mild violence".
"you don't understand what they did to me, and that's why I offed them" Alteori, going feral: "BUT WHAT DID THE DOG DO TO YOU THOUGH" *possible hand slamming on table sounds in background*
I agree with a lot of the fans of Venom and Carnage. Carnage was suppose to have complete symbiosis if they followed the comics. The ending just left a lot to be desired. I don't think they handled it right. And it should have been R rated.
I really loved this movie, but the one thing I never loved and I hate about it is the fact that they made venom let there be carnage’s venom too childish at moments, because remember, venom only changed his mind because of Eddie, and his original plan was to destroy the earth
I felt like half the movie was missing by the end of it, like I feel there were things they wanted to include and left out, like with the visuals of Carnage (how he easily morphs and how he transforms a lil different), you can see that there's that "blood bond" with the symbiote from the comics, even how venom said "that's a red one", I feel like he might have known it or something 😂, it's just...esh...they left out too much for me.
Alt this channel is a hidden gem, hope you know that. I genuinely enjoy almost of the videos you put out and I don’t think I’ve ever disliked anything either lol. Keep doing what you’re doing! I always plug your channel with my friends because we all watch the same shit haha.
Cleatus is supposed to be an irredeemable monster. The reason Carnage becomes a murdermachine is because symbiotes are somewhat affected by their hosts.
5:42.. i mean yes but part of why eddie and anny's relationship do not work is basically it works more like a son and mother dynamic than an actual couple .. this is on purpose becouse part of the character of eddi brock is that he grew up without a mother.. but the movie for some reason doesnt really explore this even though it clear that they kind of want to based on some of the dilogue qith kletus and deleted scenes of the first film.
As someone who came up when Carnage first emerged with Maximum Carnage as a major comic event, I had no interest in this movie, because I saw that they were doing a half ass job with Carnage. The comic pushed the limits of PG-13, painted Carnage as a nearly demonic extreme threat, so much so that you had heroes and villains teaming up. In fact, Carnage's emergence was the first time that the villainous Venom fought alongside rather than against Spider-Man, and marked the beginning of his Lethal Protector arc. Also, Carnage was so dangerous not just because of the symbiote's motives, but primarily because Cletus had such a twisted mind.
In the comics Carnage and Cletus have a bond on a molecular level because they're so similar mentaly, and carnage bonded to him through his blood. So maybe that happened off screen and that's why he can liquify through the vents also neither of them would have an issue hitting shriek. And I'm pretty sure he killed the dog because it was bullying his mom, then his mom abused him for killing the dog so his dad killed his mom for that, which led Cletus to kill his dad. Just some context for some things.
@@wyattharbes7205 really, I must have read a different origin or maybe I don't remember it as well as I thought I did. But that does make sense considering his adoptive father didn't treat him good either.
"Lethal protector" was the title to venom's short run stand alone comic. it only lasted a few story arcs and fizzled out. there were some good issues and the premise was "OK" but he wasn't the kind of character that should have had his own book.. in it, Eddie Brock was living in an underground homeless camp with a bunch of other homeless people, when that community was threatened, venom would step up to protect them. the best story from that series (imo) was one where venom was contaminated by toxic waste, making the already batshit crazy venom even more batshit crazy..... speaking of suicide squad... that movies joker, Jared Leto would have been a more appropriate Cetus Cassidy.
Everybody just like it cuz of carnage but this punk ain't even the true monster just some random fella cosplaying as the character which is what it's is and for me riot was much cooler in the first film
there's a scene in here where Frances has black lipstick on and that's what made me realize that the same actress played Calypso in Pirates of the Caribbean
Alteori, "Lethal Protector" refers to Venom's debut as his own comic character and where he started as an anti-hero. There ya go. There's the reason why Venom refers to himself as the Lethal Protector.
I liked this movie and I get that it’s not gonna appeal to everybody. I do agree it has issues but I knew going in the story wasn’t going to be all that great, so I feel that because I went in with low expectations I enjoyed the movie more, not saying that works everytime but it did this time. Also, I love when Alteori said “What in the super smash brothers fuck was that?!” LMAO
You might want to rewatch the post credits scene again. Venom explained how symbiotes are connected in a hive mind throughout the multiverse. They get transported to another universe. Venom, recognises Spider-Man by his hostility. Why? Because there are so many universes where Venom and Spider-Man are enemies. And these symbiotes of each universe share a hive mind. So he is not hating on a random kid.... he KNOWS who Spider-Man is through the hive mind. Maybe from Spider-Man 3.
WHAT DID THE DOG DO TO YOU bro I laughed so hard. Plus Cletus is a way more of a murderer in the comics because he killed for his own enjoyment I'm not sure if he was abused by his parents but his did kill his grandmother. And you really pointed out how mad I got at Eddie's Ex you don't just flex your ring to your ex after you invite him to dinner
I know this isn't known to most but I think it should be known that the scream shouldn't affect carnage due to it being blood based symbiote as it only affects nervous based symbiotes like venom and scourge.
both Carnage and Shriek supposed to be insane on a whole new level(I mean the comics) they should just create havoc everywhere, yet for some unknown reason the writers decided to strip them away from all of that... in this movie they both just psychotic and nothing more... For other unknown reasons( in Shriek's case it's probably PC) they tried to make both villains kinda victims, and they definitelly shouldn't be! I wanted pure chaos, pure insanity, pure... carnage! Sony obviously tried to make their Venom sequel as soft as they could, probably so they could mix them with MCU, which sucked big time. Also as for post credits... Some other youtuber(I believe it was Charlie from Emergency Awsome) mentioned that this whole Venom's intermultiverse memory supposed to explain how the hell Venom reacts like that when he sees Spider-man, you know, couse other Venom from different universe allready fought SM(Raimi's third SM)... No idea was that really the case or wasn't, eighter way it was unclear and to rushed. Also I felt so weird seing Venom licking Tom Holland's face on screen...
With the addition of one the most violent comic book villains in history in PG13 movie-- is why this turned out so underwhelming. Not only does this ruin the character of Carnage but Venom's as well. The film was constantly wrestling with itself, trying to be PG-13 when it needed to be rated R. And with the addition of Carnage, it really showed this time.
Technically Cletus and Carnage weren't symbiotic. Sure they still worked together for like half of the film but they still didn't really ever get along 100%. Take Eddie and Venom for example, Cletus and Carnage are like Eddie and Venom's symbiotic relationship but Eddie and Venom always found ways to make up. That never happened for Cletus and Carnage.
I might agree with you, this gave to many Suicide Squad vibes, but the only reason why I liked this movie is because This time, they actually tried to make it good such as more emotion, more action scenes and is darker compared to the prequel, but overall, I like this movie just as much as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, However, I think JW: FK was a tiny bit better due to the suspense, but that's my opinion, in fact, we ALL have opinions that we can share other than going along with a trend!
I was invested in this movie soley for Carnage, he's my favorite Marvel Character and I have been waiting for him to be in a movie for the longest time
What did the dog do. Well if my memory serves correct, he killed the dog because he felt like his mother liked the dog more than him. But that's in the comics so it may not be the canonical answer.
Kletus Cassidy killed the puppy in the comics. He first drilled it, then hung it. Why? No reason. That's his whole character in the comics. He is Joker cranked to 150%. No reason to kill, simply because he likes too.
If I was in cletus's position, I would just kill venom before anything so there would be no threats towards shriek. Also couldn't carnage wrap a tentacle or 2 around the officer so shriek could kill him easily? Nevertheless I really liked the movie, maybe the reason they are stupid is because they've spent most of their entire lives in a cell
Yeah they really mellowed out carnage they made him sympathetic when reallly everything he did was because he just really enjoyed killing and seeing life leave people's bodies even before the symbiote which is what makes him so interesting he didn't have a hard life he was poor but that was it he was just pure killer
Yup, I didn't notice any of these minor things you mentioned during the movie lol. I LOVED it, the fight scenes were incredible, same as the first one. The Carnage entrance scene was my absolute favorite by far, sent tingles down my spine with that scream, giving my Godzilla 2016 vibes
Hello Alteori. That sums up the plot and build up of this movie. "LET THERE BE CARNAGE". I'd seen bits of the first movie on tv and TH-cam. After watching this review video maybe I'll give the second one a chance if it appears on the tv channels. Never read the comics but watched some animated shows of the characters. Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.
The reason Cletus was not harmed by Frances` sonic abilities in his younger years was because he did not have his Symbiote yet:The Symbiotes` only weaknesses are fire and sound, fire because they are born of the darkness of the void of space and thus the light and heat of the sun offend them and sound because their bodies are fluid and more malleable than humans but that also makes them more fragile as their senses are so much more advanced than that of their typically human hosts.
This comment is so dumb. Cletus still had fucking ears! If anything the reason it didnt fuck with him was because Shriek can aim her sonic blast which is portrayed by the visible sound waves she produces when she uses her powers.
My biggest issue was the banshee girl, her character felt forced and meaningless, just a plot device for future characters, I know she's like a actual mutant in comics but she just wasn't needed. Overall I'd say it's a decent popcorn movie the end credit scene was the best part of the movie IMO
Honestly this movie was a huge insult to Carnage’s character and it should’ve been R rated. I mean how is a woman getting popped in the eye considered PG-13? In Comics, Cletus’s Insanely messed up mind bonded so completely to the Carnage Symbiote that he has full control of it and he uses the symbiote as his own weapon, plus he refers to himself as “I” not “We”. All these movie makers care about is money and too much damn comedy you see this is the reason why I more into DC then Marvel. *(Also Carnage in the Comics has no Compassion in him that he doesn’t love Shriek at all, it’s just like Joker and Harley Quinn relationship again.)*
There is a reason why a LOT of us say the "PG" rating for movies say it means "Pure Garbage"... because of how often that is true, especially when the source material would AT LEAST be an "R" rating.
Canonically; I believe Cletus killed the dog because it was the only thing his abusive grandmother loved. The dog's only crime was being a way he could hurt someone who lived to do nothing but hurt him. Then again, this movie pretty much disregards canon when it comes to Kassidy, so one wonders why they even included the dog murder?
the whole liquefying thing? Yeaaah carnage isn't attached to cledus he's physically infused with cledus sooo they can infact melt down and do this shit basically carnage is one fucked up zipper which turns cledus inside out ANNND the whole "shreik" trying to talk him out of this is mainly because she knows carnage does NOT care for her in the slightest and she knows this and if he continues it jeopardizes her "happy endings" The symbiotes being separated was because the sonic sounds from the bells separated them ANNND finally....the cop is actually a call back to a comic book character and that cop is the host of a symbiote named "toxin" which if you do not know is the child of carnage Hope this answer some of your questions and love your channel ❤️
you see alteori the puppy actually masterminded the abuse and made the family hate him by idk what i just ehh (also gj woody harrelson with like all his roles)
I apologize for how many words it took to say all this, but please bear with me. 0:01, first off, I loved the design of Carnage for the most part. And that howl is horrifying. But he felt really held back. As in, he barely got to actually Carnage. I imagine an alternate take in the prison scene where as all those weirdly calm prisoners are cheering instead of running for their lives, that we see at least moment where Carnage turns to face them, fixing to kill and eat them next for some “fuel in the tank”. The villain is meant to be something that goes on a rampages and kills indiscriminately, meaning not just cops or security guards, but there are ways to do that without getting explicit. I get that Shriek is part of the Maximum Carnage storyline (the main reason it’s forgivable in the grand scheme of things is that she was a more interesting way to excise Carnage than it just being a church bell), but I feel as though the main focus could and should have been on the relationship between Cletus and Carnage. I found it funny how even Carnage himself is annoyed by the Tim Burton/Natural Born Killers/Bonnie and Clyde routine going with Cletus and Shriek, as well as their comparatively basic motivations of revenge and general hurt feelings when he just wants to remove the only competition he sees on the planet so he can hunt and eat as he pleases and conquer the planet with offspring of his own. The deleted scenes even demonstrated more of this impatience with him telling the pair they are thinking too small. I do believe there was potential to make Carnage more interesting by developing his relationship with Cletus more. If you’re gonna keep Shriek, have Carnage not be a third wheel, but have him be something Cletus has to choose between. Does he want to just be a one dimensional vengeful murderer, or does he want to transcend into that mythical figure he tries to present himself as with his dramatic dialogue and morbid artistry (both actual art and his victims). That what Carnage can offer him, while Carnage gets to just be the predator he was born as. Additionally, having Carnage being this force of nature with ambitions to become the apex predator of the planet presents him as a pretty neat foil for Venom, who has the capacity to care about people and struggles with his innately monstrous and predatory nature, even to his detriment as shown in how weak he was in end battle. Eddie and Cletus, meanwhile, are similar in the sense that they are both wronged people who, in turn, wrong others in one way or another. Eddie is a selfish man who presents himself as a man of the people looking to help his community through the media, but cares more about his career and reputation than other people (implied to be out insecurity brought on by his father’s hatred of him for something he could not control, his mother dying giving birth to him). Cletus is a sad and angry man who presents himself as a victim of a cruel world, but is also a victimizer who uses his abuse to justify his violent ways and to feel important. The connection between these two up until Cletus’ death, I feel, was handled well in some areas, with Eddie being able to see Cletus for what he truly was and pity him. Venom and Eddie’s relationship was also a stand out, even if there discord wasn’t fully resolved as both have not fully realized, acknowledged or apologized for the wrong they have done to the other, with Venom’s rampant chaotic outbursts (though it’s understandable because he is a naturally bloodthirsty and relatively insane alien monster whose primary instinct is to kill and eat and is only just starting learning things like love, compassion, respect and a loose sense of morality, as demonstrated with his obsession with being a "lethal protector" because it's an excuse for him to kill and eat people and the fact that he casually burns through several innocent people's bodies just because he wanted to leave Eddie) and Eddie constantly trying to contain Venom (also understandable as it must be a heavy thing on his mind to witness people he doesn’t know the full story behind be eaten, hence his comments about not everyone in prison is a bad person, as well as not wanting to risk his own life or Venom’s if and when they get exposed…..or simply the risk to his career and reputation). In more capable hands, this could have been more than just ok, but genuinely great. But these are the same people that overstuffed Amazing Spider-Man 2 and made the first Venom a somewhat enjoyable mess. A guy called Filmento actually described this film as also designed like it’s made for kids, while another guy called GodzillaMendoza described the film as love letter to edgy 90’s comics, especially ones staring Venom. In a way the film feels like both of these, but it doesn’t necessarily make up for its shortcomings, at least for someone like me.
1. I was going to suggest that you make a video about how the Venom Franchise - specifically Carnage - could have been scarier, like you did with Indoraptor; but seeing as to how badly received the franchise is, I would suggest you make a video about how you would rewrite the franchise. 2. As for what the dog did, it could be as simple as Cletus seeing the dog get the best treatment while he was getting abused. Use your imagination.
To be honest, I loved this movie, especially the prison scene and the final battle. However, I’ve always wondered why carnage hates his father. I mean venom gave you life, go play decapitated head ball or something. Also the part where you question the Symbiote liquifying their hosts, I’m pretty sure only carnage can because he’s a blood based Symbiote so that’s why he can do that, also the prison break scene shows carnage opening his stomach and I think you would’ve scene cletus but you didn’t so yeah.
This movie tries WAY too hard to make you sympathize with Cletus Kassidy with that one segment. Legit, in the comics, they don't even TRY to make you sympathize with him, the comic version of Carnage is MUCH more fun because they acknowledge he's a monster and they go with that, he's that "villain you love to hate" type of villain who does mayhem in a way you can't help but enjoy cus of how joyous he does it, they don't try to make you feel bad for him. Plus, Carnage and Kassidy are meant to be basically the exact same person. There's not some "reluctant relationship" bullshit with them, whatever Carnage wants, Kassidy wants and vice versa, they're BOTH insane and love causing havoc and killing people to the point of genocide if they can.
Venom let there be carnage was a decent movie but if it was rated R it would have been SOOOO much better the prison break scene should've made grown men have nightmares
Yes and I loooved that scene! If they did a Doom Patrol type scene, I would have been like,yes... THAT is Carnage.

Yeah knowing the comics, they definitely added a big change to Carnage & Cletus.
Biggest thing being in comics Cletus & Carnage are actually perfect together & almost never disagree.
They are like closer symbiosis since they bonded by blood
Ya, even in The Comics and "Spider-Man:The Animated Series" that "perfect symbiosis" did not happen right away and in "Spider-Man Unlimited" Carnage seemed to view Cletus as merely a disposable tool and conduit through which to unleash the Synoptic Symbiote Hive Mind`s power across the multiverse!
Yh, the only time I know of when they didn't both agree to something was when cletus died and the carnage symbiote bonded with his body and brought him back to life
Fun fact: in the comics there is one issue where carnage loses his weakness to sound in exchange for a weakness to magic.
As evidenced by how Venom says, "WE are Venom," and Carnage says, "I am Carnage." They are unified.

Yup 1000%
Venom has always been extremely goofy
The panel that stands out to me is when he saves a woman from being mugged and gives her purse back, pats her on the head, and she just runs off screaming.
The only problem I had was with carnage himself character wise him and Kassady r supposed to be so crazy and perfect that they say "I" not "we" or argue about anything
Fr and Carnage dawns Cletus personality and it's bad because if someone else merges with the carnage symbiote they end up becoming Cletus Kassidy (personality wise) just like Norman Osborn
Carnage’s reign of “terror” lasted about as long as Topher Grace’s Venom in Spiderman 3
(Praise the Tobey!)
Lol.
Y would we praise Tobey? He didn't even kill his villains. They all killed themselves/ stopped fighting
Yeah, how did venom win without help? Also, venom seemed to have struggled far more with riot. Does that mean riot is stronger than carnage?
The whole romance between Carnage and Banshee feels like something an executive asked for after watching Suicide Squad
Omg yes!!!!
I actually liked this movie, it’s good action, good cgi, good actors, but your opinion matters, Good video! 👍
Oh, from what I have read, they put them to sleep first, so they don't feel it unless awake.
Bring back guillotines
Lethal protector was a four issue mini series from the mid 90’s
I saw the first movie not a long time ago and it was good I liked interactions between Venom and Eddie. I haven't seen the second one yet.
That scene when Eddie got invited to dinner by Anne just so she could tell her she is married. If I was in Eddie's situation I would have probably released Venom. I experienced something like this and it really hurts so I would be really mad.
id just eat as much as i could then leave and let her pay three rounds of lobster and steak
She kept screaming around carnage. Carnage warned her and she still did it lol. Glad you’re talkin about this movie. 🙂👍🏼
Okay...my biggest beef is how carnage was defeated, being such a iconic villain I felt he needed a more epic death
An R rating really would've helped this movie but on its own its a bundle of fun!
Sidenote: 11:21 your voice is so frickin hilarious!
My favorite line is:
"Time to die father!"
"*Scared priest noise*"
"Not you father. You father!"
*“Time to die!”*
“That’s the spirit!”
*”I mean US! We are going to die!”*
-Venom
7:24 ... you have to take on account that Cletus is just telling Eddy the side of the story eddy wants to hear as a way of mocking him .. the version where Cassidy is just a monster.. and not a victim of the situation.. we dont really know if he kill the dog out of malicious intent , self defense or by accident. all we really know is the world around kassady has frame him as just evil. but later in the movie Cletus complain about none of this narrative being any close to the truth.
now in the comics this has more to do with writters not really being able to decide if kassedy has always been a monster or whatever they are victims of the world. but the movies does this interesting choices that for some reason never fully lean toward them.. like Shriek 's only crime being having being born a mutant. and playing on the idea that this so call evil people are just victims of the world around them ..
part of me thinks that at least some people in the production of this films...understand the idea that a "leathal Protector" its kind bad joke.. kind of like peace maker in the suicide squad .. because eddy stop some people here and there.. but the conditions that created does people remain unspoken ... so venom and eddy are hardly doing anything to actually make their world a better place.
EXACTLYYYY
I would say it wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. The CGI was improved and significantly better, but the story just felt like a really long episode than just a movie. Felt like a Venom 1.5 and not a sequel.
Also, another thing that was "in the comics". . . When Eddie was in jail, he happened to share the cell that he was in . . . with Cletus. So, when the Symbiote bonds with Eddie to become Venom again and "they" break out of jail, a spawn of Venom is left behind and latches onto Cletus.
I actually remember this one part, when I was watching it with my brothers at a friend's house:
Cletus: "Why isn't it coming to me?"
(unknown person): "The Symbiote won't come to you, until you willingly accept it as its host."
Then Cletus says: "Let's go, I'm ready here."
Again, this is what I remember from that cartoon.
I love how they teased the symbiote hive at the end which means knull will come sooner or later.
11:08 symbiotes can repair any damaged tissue and destroy it as long as cledus' mind and major organs are intact carnage can do what ever he likes. I don't know if I spelled his name write.
Yeah the lethal protector is a really old comic were we see venom as an anti hero also the first movie was loosely based off of
The reason why the cop has the powers is because they’re following the comics of how carnage had a kid that went to the cop and it made a symbiot called Toxin.

I’m sorry to do this but, I’m actually Cletus killed the dog because his mom treated the dog better than him
@@wyattharbes7205 really, I must have read a different origin or maybe I don't remember it as well as I thought I did. But that does make sense considering his adoptive father didn't treat him good either.

6:55 Spoiler, Cletus Kassidy is the most messed up character in Marvel. Going into his mind broke people. He's done worse than killing a dog.

Right!!!

10:26 that reaction was kinda adorable
Tbh I thought it was pretty decent, had they made it rated R it terms of Venom's dark character it would have been better.
*Venom: Let There Be Garbage.*
Kletus Cassidy killed the puppy in the comics.
He first drilled it, then hung it.
Why? No reason. That's his whole character in the comics. He is Joker cranked to 150%. No reason to kill, simply because he likes too.
😱😱😱😱😢😢😢😢😢
Me too! That was the best part 😍
The bit when venom said "FUCK THIS GUY" and bite his head off made most of the theater laugh and I do not know why.

Yeah I would have liked her to be more fleshed out and I feel like the pacing was off and then the ending was rushed. It felt very anticlimactic
I actually really loved this movie
There is a reason why a LOT of us say the "PG" rating for movies say it means "Pure Garbage"... because of how often that is true, especially when the source material would AT LEAST be an "R" rating.
I hate what this movie did to Carnage... Because it wasn't Carnage. Or Cletus Kasady. They ruined Carnage's character
this is such a funny review, love your style
Ever since anger management with Adam Sandler I half expect Woody to go at some point "Hebrew Melvin is in love"
They should made a spin of :
Let there be a sandy iguana.
Yeaaah carnage isn't attached to cledus he's physically infused with cledus sooo they can infact melt down and do this shit basically carnage is one fucked up zipper which turns cledus inside out
ANNND the whole "shreik" trying to talk him out of this is mainly because she knows carnage does NOT care for her in the slightest and she knows this and if he continues it jeopardizes her "happy endings"
The symbiotes being separated was because the sonic sounds from the bells separated them ANNND finally....the cop is actually a call back to a comic book character and that cop is the host of a symbiote named "toxin" which if you do not know is the child of carnage
Hope this answer some of your questions and love your channel ❤️
you see alteori the puppy actually masterminded the abuse and made the family hate him by idk what i just ehh (also gj woody harrelson with like all his roles)
The cop has powers because he later becomes the symbiote toxin who is the son of carnage and technically the grandson of venom
........ What????? Hoowwww??? I feel like something is missing
The MCU is really allergic to gore and most of all R rated movies like bruh really?
I wish the fight between venom and carnage was extended
I wish that
If it was, people would complain that the fight dragged on too long, so it can't win either way
I mean tbh, it shouldnt. Carnage is much stronger than V. The fight lasting as long as it did was borderline bs to be honest. But it still looked cool

How did the bell killed the screaming girl? The thing in the bell that caused it to make noise is not in there, so it's just hollow in there.
We need an Unrated cut. Time for Carnage to paint the town Red.
This is one heck of a fox tale. Thank you. You weave one heck of a movie recap story.
