I love going to my local farmer’s market and buying seasonal fruit and veggies. I live in nyc, so that’s one way I connect to nature and support local farmers. Blessed Lammas Hearth 🌿🌙
That's the first time I'm celebrating Lammas. I made a corn dolly dressed in ribbons and a wreath. I'm gonna bake my favourite cinnamon rolls and take care of my urban vegetable garden 🍅 blessed Lammas/Lughnasadh to everyone!
Every Sabbat I make note of what's changing in the natural landscape. My yard is filled with fireweed, so I'm going to make some fireweed jelly, and hopefully some cornbread to eat with it. :) I also like to bless a candle that I light for an hour or so in the evenings while I read or journal.
yayyy this is so exciting! its my first year after moving into a 211 year old stone cottage... i have a massive vegetable garden now and im feeling immensely blessed in spite of the amount of work this kind of land/cottage brings 🥰 I harvested all of my beets and carrots about 4 days ago, and i have too many and have been sharing them :p i need to learn how to jar vegetables 😅 its so awesome how the beggining of harvest for me landed right around where the holiday for it shows up 🌾 love your videos, im seasoned, but i enjoy your channel because it reminds me to go back to some things that i haven't touched upon in a while, or for a sprinkle of inspiration to go sit a bit longer in my altar room 💛 thanks for being you :)
I have a yummy pickled carrot recipe! It sounds odd but it's good. It's nice because you keep it in the fridge vs actually canning with pressure (something I need to learn as well) I can share it with you if you're interested :D
Check out kilner jars, it's a good way to preserve fruit for a long time, especially if you don't have enough fridge or freezer space, and I reckon it will work for sauces and vegetables too if prepared in a certain way (obviously depends on the veg)
I'm fairly new to witchcraft in general (off and on for about a year or so now) so I love how you frame your sabbat videos with broom closeted witches and/or beginners in mind. This year I'll be celebrating Lughnasadh with a small altar, baking cornbread, and (weather permitting) a walk in the park.
Blessed Lughnasadh/Lammas, everyone! I've been harvesting in our allotment this weekend and tonight we will cook and enjoy a lovely harvest-meal. Then we will have a Lammas fire to sacrifice the corn dolly I made last Lammas. And bless the newly made corn dolly too. I am so grateful to be able to celebrate Lammas with loved ones! Enjoy your celebrations, you all!
Perhaps a bit oddly I always incorporated my Lammas practice with end of summer things I would do to prepare my children to get back to school. I do a ton of baking with back to school breakfasts in mind all made with love and intention for a great day at school but also bulk up supply for winter months. I make a ton of elderberry syrup and cherry bark cough syrup and my thieves oil in order to have our winter supply ready once the colder months arrive. My fig tree, raspberry and blueberry bushes are all at their peak so jelly jams and syrups seem to always be bubbling in the cauldron and as the cooler nights approach I will burn peat which always immediately brings me back to cool, soggy evenings spent in the Irish countryside! It is my favorite time of year and although for some spring and summer is the most productive time of year, I find that coming into autumn is where I flourish.
I do mini candle alters for the sabbats. I use a colored taper candle and surround it with dried flowers on a little round wooden alter. I let it burn down to the socket and leave it there until I prepare for the next Sabbat.
For me, in my location, the end of summer/early fall means monsoon thunderstorms, ripe elderberries, juvenile shorebirds arriving from the north, and the terns starting to leave their nesting colonies with their new fledglings.
I don't really celebrate Lammas or Lughnassadh, but August 1st is an important day for me (I started a new chapter of my life on that day), so I usually try to do some fun things. I'm trying to find a few "me" things that overlap with harvest time things to do that day and possibly marry the two. Right now, I'm leaning toward baking bread, going for a bike ride in the park, and dancing around my house. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions! 👍
1st of August ist actually the national day in Switzerland. Even though most people don't know about the sabbats, I think there's no other day when more Swiss people are outside, having BBQs, enjoy the weather, sit around campfires and look at the fireworks in the evening. At the same time it always makes me melancolic, because it really is the beginning of the end of summer and I'm not a big fan of the cold and the dark in winter.
I appreciate your concern for wildlife and nature, Hearth! This time of year I barely go indoors and I’ve always felt a subtle but distinct shift around August 1st. This kicks into high gear The preserving and foraging season.
Living in a super hot super urban area of Arizona this season is a little... Hard to see you relate to so much so differently. It is even too hot yet to start my winter garden.
Lovely altar, thanks for sharing. Merry lughnasadh, and nothings irritating from you any red or purple it is good here. By the way burley wait for the sabbath. All the best
Terrific information, Hearth! I am currently living in an apartment, but am lucky to have a nearby farmers market and I live on Lake Superior, so nature is all around me. I plan to shop the market on Saturday and get out in a wilderness area on Sunday. And of course, a new altar is in the works! Blessed Lammas to you, dear Hearth, and to the rest of this lovely community!
I love setting up altars for each Sabbat for the same reason, Hearth! I live in Los Angeles, famously known for its mild weather and lack of seasons (there are seasons, but you have to really, really pay close attention to notice). Changing the altar is the way I connect to nature and really do notice the changes, even if they're minimal. Happy Lughnasadh everyone! 🌄🌻😎
I feel like of all the turns of the wheel this is the one I find the hardest to connect to where I live as it still feels deeply like summer but this has given me ideas! Thank you! 🌻🌼✨
I worship Mithras, so Aug 1st doesn't figure into my celebrations. However! There was a pre-Sol Invictus solar deity the Romans worshiped on Aug 9th, Sol Indiges, who I will be making offerings to on His day. Thank you for the informative video. I do love your content.
When I was in elementary school there was a honeysuckle plant growing along the fence around the school's outdoor recess area right next to the track that we were required to walk before we could go to the playscape. I have no recollection of HOW I knew that the plant was honeysuckle, nor that it was safe to suck the nectar out when I was THAT little, but I taught my friends to pluck the flowers, pull off the little green tab at the bottom of it and suck out the sweet liquid. I was really sad when my mom took me back to the school playground on a weekend when I was in middle school and the honeysuckle plant was gone.
I tend my family and friends altar more than any other. So I've started placing seasonal plants on it and cleaning it off each Sabbat. For me it's a nice way to remember them and mark the seasonal changes.
I can’t wait to get back to connecting with the Sabbats seasons the divine and my truth intimately and with intention! Working on manifesting hearth and home! So mote it be. Blessed Be to you throughout the Harvest Sabbat and those coming.❤☀️🥖🪬❤️
I plan on going for a walk at my local country park to appreciate the end of the summer season, and drinking lots of blackberry herbal tea. I can’t do much since I still live with family, but these small traditions work for me :) have a blessed Lughnasadh everyone 🌞🌻💗
So stoked for Lammas cause that means Samhien is right around the corner it's already starting to get just slightly cooler here. I might run and maybe do a bit of sword practice for the sporting possibly archery.. really want to make a wheat doll. I'll probably even get groceries closer to the first to represent harvest
Great video and beautiful altar! It's interesting how your style of decorating altars has shifted over the past few years. I like the homey, woodsy feeling. It's much simpler yet just as powerful as the altars from previous years. Today, watching this video inspired me to change into the colors of Lammas (I'm wearing beige pants, a red shirt, white sneakers with a streak of gold, and golden Swarovski earrings that remind me of the sun and moon). Now I think I'm going to go out and enjoy the sunshine and maybe make an offering of bread to the earth. I know it's not quite Lammas yet, but I'm definitely feeling the Lammas mood and there's no guarantee that I'll be in a similar mood on the actual day.
Awesome video...I am now following you on Instagram,,,..I am still learning about Lammas..thank you for this video..I found out more now and find so many things intriguing...I have been a witch for a year and one month now,,thank you again
Great video! Depending on the day and how busy I am, I sometimes have to keep it short. I’m getting a procedure on Lammas this year so the day before I’m going to try my hand at making a lemon lavender cake with lavender from my garden. I’ll share that with my family over a cup of tea. And the day after, I’ll redo my altar after giving it a good cleanse.
I absolutely love lughnassadh! I love baking and seasonal eating! It's the perfect time for me to get back outside since, at least here currently, we are finally having a break in the heat! I think my plans are going to be smaller than usual though this year and might just be bake some bread with my husband and share it with friends
My birthday is August 1, and Lammas was the first sabbat I ever celebrated. So, this one is my favorite! I'm having a small gathering on the 31st with food, a few witchy friends, and a ritual. It's really hot here this time of year, but we make it work! Love the videos! Love your altar. Wonderful, as always. Blessed Lammas, Hearth!
awee I got such a warm feeling in my heart seeing the altar time-lapse. thanks so much for sharing that! stuff like this really inspires me. I just found your channel & I love your yellow eye makeup. subbed xx
I love your videos. I live with chronic illness and can't do too much for the sabbaths so I get alot of simple ideas I can do from you and I also get confirmation that the things I do naturally are connected to the changing of the seasons which makes me feel proud and good about myself. Thanks for being you! 🤎

Waiting until blackberries are ripe is difficult. Birds are always earlier than humans! 😅
Hey Hearth, I am new to my journey and love your channel. I was wondering if you would do a video on imposter syndrome? I’ve heard you mention it in a few videos but wanted to do a deeper dive and the second/third order effects on an individual’s craft evolution. If there is already a video I apologize and must have missed it. Thank you for the consideration and all the amazing content!
Hello Hearth. I loved the video. The outtakes are hilarious and make me laugh every time 😆 I'm a baby witch. Haven't got much of a practice other than visualization exercises. Dedicated myself to a lot of reading. As you know I have many questions, none of which I'm going to bore you with, except one. As I said. I'm just a beginner and don't know poop about the Wheel of the Year or any of the Sabbats. The only holiday that still holds any magic for me is Halloween/Samhain. So is it required to celebrate all the holidays or can we skip some? Thank you so much for your channel. I really enjoy and look forward to further content.
Thank you for spending so much time editing and resurging. The work you put into videos really shows. I enjoy luring from you and finding new knowledge. Thank you for being a witchy influencer.❤️🧙🧹
I love going to my local farmer’s market and buying seasonal fruit and veggies. I live in nyc, so that’s one way I connect to nature and support local farmers. Blessed Lammas Hearth 🌿🌙
Same it’s hard to do any celebrations here in the city you have to go out of the city
Good idea!
@@Icevixxen it’s definitely hard but I always find a way😉😊
same!! I also like to go to a park for a little nature time

Blessed Lughnassadh brothers and sisters 🌻💛🧡🌾
My partner and I are starting a small tradition of getting cake for every sabbat.
Lammas is also when I start knitting winter gear and canning.
I like this idea. ❤

I am part Seneca Indian so I am making foods celebrating North American harvest, corn, zucchini and tomato
As a leo and a practicing for just 2 - 3 years. This is a perfect way to welcome my favorite month and extend my birthday 😂
My birthday’s the second and I was thinking exactly the same thing 😅
Happy Birthday, mine is the 6th.
Finding her videos is like cool spring water on a hot day.

Awww, salt dough! 🫶🏻 I remember doing that in kindergarten! We call that troll dough in Norway 🤭💖
Salt dough, what a fun idea. I used to love doing that as a kid. We had some of those Christmas decorations for years.
Beautiful !! So Glad To Discover You! Blessed Be!🌛
I really appreciate that you included ideas for ppl with children or limitations ❤. Thank you so much for not leaving us out.

I am ready for the high temperature to drop below 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Do you live in Florida?
I do, and the heat and humidity are over the top. I've been living under a heat advisory for weeks. It's truly brutal here.
this video reminded me that lughnassadh is tomorrow and I need to start my bread lol ty

This made me think of the song by the band Traffic called John Barleycorn (Must Die) from the album of the same name. 🌽🌽
Very insightful video! Will be including a recommendation, and a link to your video on my channel's Lammas 2024 video today.
I have created a simple altar and swept in Lughnasadh abundance this morning with a mint adorned broom.

Is there a calendar that shows all the Witch Seasons and Solstices?
the wheel of the year shows all the sabbats, you can just look it up to find out the times and dates
are there any spells you can do in your head without tools?
Is there a app or calendar you can recommend to keep me on track with the correct date coresponding to the wheel of the year ?
I have no intention to celebrate Lammas..
As I'm very ill during that time
