He was interviewed years later and said he was pretty much open handed slapping Ali, Holmes hated that he had to punch his HERO! After their fight Holmes told Ali your still greatest of all time in my book!
@@kaylonrome loved him so much he slapped him in the fucking face when he could barely defend himself?
@@joeroganstrtshots881 That was a little "promo" slap. He didn't even put any force behind that. These are also boxers that are used to taking full force punches from people like Foreman and Tyson and they both knew it. That "slap" wasn't nothing but a lovetap on the face to promote the fight.
That's why you can see that Ali wasn't even angry. He was just like "you slapped me. You crazy." Holmes said he wasn't even throwing full punches and was pretty much throwing open hand slaps in this fight because he didn't wanna KO his friend. This fight was just a paycheck to both of them with no real animosity. Holmes even hugged Ali and cried after the fight because he regretted punishing Ali like that.
Yeah then had to hear Holmes about how his arm got caught in the ropes that why he got knocked out, Holmes was full of shit, so we just completely ignore that just before his arm got caught that Tyson didn't plant you twice already? 😂😂
@@MistaWordz he love promo more then he love Ali
Ali was so secure with himself.
He sure fooled you .
@@daveyboy_ he fooled your mother out them draws
@@lordtrill7731 OMG a Mother joke - you're like way up here and im like ,wayyyy down here . He fooled my mother out of dem draws. Dammm , did u think of that all by yourself ? Wow , i mean u really got me .
Nah he was kind of slow here it seems. Like getting old type of slow. He kept slurring words and having delayed reactions to everything.
Poor ali sounds like he was drunk 😢 his brain was roasted already 😢😢
Larry said it..Ali had his day this is my day..knowing his condition was struggling..he's proud of beating up a vulnerable individual..
Ali was clearly getting elderly. And buddy said the key word…”Ali had his day.” That was straight facts and sad they did this fight to sell tickets. Poor guy.
Every fighter should be like Mexican boxer Ricardo Finito Lopez he retired as a champion he never lost and he's healthy and wealthy
Ali had to do this fight because he had no money left thanks to that crazy hair dude in the middle
Ali wasn’t elderly lol he was only 38. What you mean is the effects that his boxing career had on his health were already apparent. He definitely shouldn’t have been fighting anymore.
Not getting elderly, he was THIRTY EIGHT here. He was suffering from early Parkinson’s disease and fairly sever brain damage. Genuinely criminal that this fight was allowed.
@@angelvillarreal3648 he had signs of Parkinson’s at this time at 38 he was elderly the fight if you watch it you see a man lose 5 years off his life
King was like "CALM DOWN!! How am I gonna rob you both if you don't get PAID first?!?"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And Tyson had his day with you. He did that for Muhammad Ali. You didn't know what hit you.😂😂😂.
Gotta love Ali, he knew how to make everyone happy, I met him one time, great guy, had a bunch of us Native Americans laughing 😅😅
That was more a show of affection than a slap
Why does this look like two best friends building up a fight with godly good sportsmanship.
Because that’s what it is.
The first time I see Ali with a mustache, it's even strange like seeing someone who always wears glasses without them.
Holmes dropped the tough guy bully bit when flat lines by Iron Mike
Getting up from the seat you can see Ali’s face. He was good at hiding pain. RIP legend!!!
He wasn’t even close to 50%. Never seen that clip before. Pissed me the hell off.
@@skillz9549 me too but Mike Tyson got him back for Ali
@@Dcf9 you are slowest person I have ever seen
"We gettin' paid for this one!" No, Don. You are gonna rob everybody's plate.
Exactly
Ali knew he was ill. He probably knew he wasn't gonna win the fight, but he still showed up and talked trash and stood his ground in the ring
Ali moved his finger then they both got up. Classic Ali.
The one thing I don’t like about fighting sports. They’re always putting aging legends against young lions. The practice Probably will never stop.
That Is how it works usually
Usually because people who believe they are the greatest never stop believing
Same thing happened to Larry
It’s essentially the passing the of torch to the next generation.
@@jejrhriktntndkkwnrjriths1510 No it didn't. Money spoke.
Just to hear Ali with a clear and strong voice again is a wonderful thing. I have great memories of growing up watching his fights and loving his banter
Yh
I don't know where you got STRONG from...
Don King: Hold on, we getting paid for this
Seeing Holmes, I first thought it was Tyson. 😅
Mike Tyson took care of that Slap for Ali.
It's all gamesmanship. I love it. Even Holmes cracked a smile toward the end.
Holmes didn’t fear Ali at that stage, he never would have smack a young Ali
This fight should have never happened.
💯💯
Ever
Ali need the money
Man I know it’s dramatic, but knowing Ali was experiencing early signs of Parkinson’s, the way he said “you slapped me” is heartbreaking af to me
Yeah, just the way he said it was honestly sad
@@GiovaniGomezz
You gotta admit though it was funny to see Larry tagging that huge head in their fight 🤣😂
@@donarthiazi2443 very true lmao 😂
Its always about da MONEY bruh.
Don king such a weasel bro💀 remind me of Reggie from surfs up
Ali looked good with a mustache
if Larry had a personality he'd be one of the best remembered
😂
The way Ali flinched and reacted like 10 seconds late is so sad anyone let this fight happen.. they sent the cash cow to the slaughter house
Ali with moustache
Obviously they were clowning for the camera. The smile on Larry's face says it all.
Yesssss...some people don't realize they were good friends.
Is that true or is it what you’d like to think
Exactly. The amount of casuals disrespecting holmes here is something else🤦🏻
Holmes gave him a little love tap, he wasn’t really serious with that slap. This was acting at its finest.
Nah f that that was disrespectful and disgusting
@@novaheads Ali was the most disrespectful and thuggish type of dude back then. This is normal in boxing. They always did this... but I do not disagree that it was disgusting because Ali has clear CTE here and you can hear it in his voice then you can see it in his movements
I agree it wasnt a bad slap and they are just trying to promote the fight.
You.could almost see Holmes and Don trying not to laugh at the end.....
Ali sparred and taught Holmes years before this fight and Larry did not want to fight this man
he really was still fighting not in a good state of himself you can see it it’s really is crazy what money really can do to people!!! but he loved to fight and in the end he suffered!!! a true icon for our people one of the best to ever do it!!!
One of the worlds greatest fights.. and they’re still human enough to have respect and playfully irritate each other. Respect is rare now a days.
"We getting paid for this one", Don King's famous last words. Lol
the man the myth the legend who never gave up fighting even whilst being unwell
No one could sell a fight like Ali.
Larry Holmes' boxing style is nothing but a follower and imitator of the legend Muhammad Ali, and had it not been for this, he would not have achieved such success and fame.
The way he stood up shows that he is already tired.
“You were my sparing partner” ends the conversation!
Yeah, that’s probably the coldest, most humbling response I’ve ever heard during a pre-fight conference. Straight to the point, remind you where you came from. (Except for maybe, paraphrasing “when I found you, you were on coke and drinking yourself to death, don’t forget I’m the one who cleaned you up”) but I’m just blanking on who that was… maybe Diaz or one of the Fury’s, can’t remember
@@grayskindablue I think Wilder said it to Fury.
Tyson got the swag of Ali and the voice of Holmes.
That mustache has a vibe bruh
