Gunjou Saika was commissioned for Project Sekai's first anniversary for clarification, there's like 5 solo versions of it sung by the characters in-game, it's great speaking seriously, it seems like a lot of your disliked songs have really similar arguments behind them. It's always so interesting hearing the specific things you find about the songs you like, but the disliked ones seem to just boil down to "i don't like whiny things" from what i get. maybe i'm just salty but it'd be interesting to hear more specific details about them instead of the thematic thing
I really get most of your points on many of the producers, but I feel like Niru isn’t really as angsty or whiny as youd say it is - I get where you come from with Wozwald and such but some of their newer ones like Ironina, Haine Kleine and Doctorine have these bittersweet endings that acknowledge positives and negatives in the world in a way that really strikes me. Though really enjoyed the video and your opinions as well!
Also on a tangential note Niru’s newer artist-focused songs remind me a lot of the feeling Seeeeecun’s boys see boys era songs gave me so maybe im biased jdhgh
I wish he would listen to Ironina, that one is so good and I love the message behind it (doctorine is also great, very catchy)... bbbuuut he already thinks traffic jam and wozwald are trash so,,,
@@panchitaperez3950 well i like all those ones but its because i am a lore nerd and its understandable but yes the new songs are diferent i like them too
I'd even say their newest song, Tricolor/Tricologe is the epitome of the "positives and negatives of life and getting through it all" songs they've made so far.
I will refer to two specifics cases you mentioned In the case of nbuna. I don't think all songs need to be complex or open your eyes thematically. Sometimes ppl need one song to relate to and feel attached to. In my case, Hitchcock really affects me because I discovered it in a time I felt like nobody thought like me and everyone just accepted things that I could't get over it making me feel extremely alone. I don't really listen to nbuna anymore but that songs still affects me immensely any time i listen to it again (pretty much like Lost Time Memory) In the case of Niru Kajitsu or more specifically wozwald. I think taking the base of a story like oswald and mickey of Disney and giving it that interpretation it's a really interesting way of transforming realitys portrayed in other media. And that is something you didn't mention and I think is something essential because it gives an unique flavor to the narrative that you don't get only focusing in the message. For me it was really entertaining researching for the backstory for Disney and analyse the metaphors in the lyrics and mv that coincided with the real story. And that gives it much more charm. Also sou version it's amazing
tbh i think the guy who made this vid did make a fair point about nabuna, his music is somewhat stereotypical vocarock, but like always people will like what others think is boring or stupid. (and i am unfortunately one of those people)
Me: I can respect people’s opinions! No worries, no worries. (Sees Eve on the list) (Pained facial expression) While that was my genuine reaction, of course you’re allowed to dislike Eve! Their storytelling isn’t that clear cut of polished, but generally I can get the energy each song is trying to portray, and that to me is good. Songs like Tokyo Ghetto, We’re still underground, the secret of that girl, Gunjou Sanka, Ambivalent, Dramaturgy, I love all of these! My personal favourite has got to be As You Like It, it really connected with me when I was in my teenage years and in the progress of growing up, feeling awkwardness and having problems connecting with other people. It became a really big comfort to me then like certain songs are now, so I still vibe with it a ton! Regardless, I admire your opinions, and I hope you have a good day!
I feel like your description of Niru Kajitsu mainly comes down to Wozwald being just OK (trust me, I'm not in love with it either.) But I think the schism between your opinion and a lot of other peoples' when it comes to Niru is the sheer variety of his work. Sure, Wozwald in a vacuum could reflect poorly on Niru's writing capacity, but as a part of the wider series, it adds to a building narrative ("Kilmer", "Shama", "Arandano") which do individually explore their own themes as built from and alongside "Wozwald". I think where I disagree with this opinion the most, however, is in his wider, more disconnected works: "TRAFFIC JAM" is a simple but fun narrative about blame-shifting and the pleasure people seek in punishment, "SALVADOR" is about the fear of being seen through the lens of your predecessors and the anxiety of your achievements being qualified in comparison to the achievements of others, "Muddy Marmalade" is a rant on social conformatism and how it's ruined a lot of opportunity for genuine conversation and social action. A lot of these are messy, yeah, but they're messy in a way that enhances the central message. The reason a lot of modern and celebrated Vocaloid is way less straight-forward and more rambling is in its relatability, and I don't think you'll see the style getting less popular in the future because of that. I think if you really payed attention to the volume of his work though, and were more willing to read into non-literal/esoteric lyrics, you'd find a lot more "Night Rule"s than you seem to believe he has.
Niru Kajitsu is the producer that got me into vocaloid along with Syudou and Shishishi, so I have a lot of emotional attachment to his songs. My personal faves right now are Tricolge, Franken X, and For Dear Life. I am not the best person at interpreting abstract lyrics like Niru's, so your comment is how i learned what Salvador and Muddy Marmalade (2 more of my most favorites) are about! I definitely agree with you about Wozwald being mediocre, and I personally only enjoyed it when I first started listening to it and more recently because I've started religiously listening to his music lol. I almost never listen to the vocaloid version though, mostly just the Yuu Miyashita cover of it, which makes the original version seem bland in contrast. I feel like the guy who made this video is basing his entire judgement on Niru off of Wozwald since his dislikes don't really apply to a lot of his other work. And he seemed to pick one of the few Nilfruits songs thats the least like a Nilfruits song because it uses Kafu instead of Flower like usual lol
Your reasons are solid and well supported, but it's just funny to me that if you look at this reductively, its basically "Edgy Artist no make Edgy Song, me like"
Completely understand your point of view throughout this video, personally out of the producers you've listed here the only one I tend to enjoy is Niru Kajitsu. Personally I don't enjoy e ve's vocaloid versions of songs because I find his tuning to be boring, too high pitched to really fit with the instrumentals, and/or flat at times; while his self covers are something I enjoy more often. I do agree with what you've said about deco*27 and n buna, your video actually helped pin point what I didn't really care so much about their music. Personally I would find it interesting if you did the opposite in a pseudo-sequel video, going through producers you love but choosing the songs you don't like and/or don't care for.
When it comes to Nilfruits a lot of the songs are for interpretation. And take time to understand from your point of view; i dont think this guy understands that.
I agree, plus you cant dislike one song and just say you dont like the producer as a whole, like just say you dont like angsty music or something and be done with it...
Honestly everything you said isn't wrong even if i enjoy these producers a ton, it's nice to have convos about an artist that isn't just "RAH me no like artist, me think they sound bad" you provide clear and concise reasons as to why you don't enjoy them most of time but when they do put out something you enjoy, you enjoy it.
Don't nessicarily have any dissagreements but for me personally niru's an interesting one- I like his works a lot but it''s with a couple of disclaimers I always feel I need to make (which is never a great thing to have to do.) I tend to seek out covers as vflower's tuning can be tough to sit through with certain songs (whiny vflower in general I find difficult to listen to overall) and I feel I get far more excited for the video than I do for the song alone. I enjoy what WOOMA and Koron bring to the works especially- I feel they take things in a weird direction a lot of the time and do something with an otherwise kinda simple song and make it far more interesting. I don't know if I'm seeing things that aren''t there, or are contributions to the work that aren't specifically niru's, but I do enjoy the collective end product once it's been added to by other people, I guess? haha.
i don't know what to say other than: do you mean whiny _musically_ (a whiny sound) or thematically (a whiny _message/theme_ ) .....because ngl, I adore a good handful of Niru Kajitsu's work and I think that may be because I care less about Vocaloid _needing_ to say something particularly new or interesting to be good - Vocaloid _can_ and _has_ done so, but the idea that it *must* in order to be worthwhile or god forbid, good....actually kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, sure, Kilmaa and Shama didn't SAY anything about the world we live in but does it have a place in my heart regardless (as a Deeply Troubling Young Woman who is Deeply Troubled)? *Absolutely.* And I personally can't even think of another Vocaloid song that hits home the same way Kilmaa does - period. Maybe it's because I relate too hard?
Maybe he is not edgy like all of us to truly enjoy niru kajitsu (OUCH I just cut my finger) But tbh he just have a different taste that doesnt suit with heavy music such as Niru's
Speaking of Kilmaa, I'm surprised he didn't talk about that, and chose Wozwald, instead. With Wozwald, he gave his interpretation of the story and it gave me the impression that's what he thinks the song is about. But with Kilmaa, it's one of Niru's songs that has a relatively straightforward story. Wozwald, along with many of Niru's other songs have a rather ambiguous message, but the tone helps in conveying the feeling his trying to get across. Personally, I felt it and it really resonated with me, even, if I didn't fully understand it. I can somewhat understand him saying Niru's songs are "aggressively whiny" but I don't think it's a bad thing, and it did come across as Bread seeming like it was his way of saying those songs are objectively bad. I do feel that artists should be able to express themselves, and I think that, the fact that Niru's lyrics are rarely on the nose, give listeners a chance to interpret the meanings as opposed to having a message shoved down their throats. I personally enjoy the raw aggressiveness of Niru's tone, though, and that's my own personal preference. I really do enjoy the Kilmaa'Hanna series and their related songs, including Wozwald and Arandano. Has a bit of a grungy feel to them and I really enjoy all the great covers they inspire. For me, it's Rei Sirose's cover of Wozwald, KANKAN's cover of Kilmaa, Dongdang's cover of Shama, and Sekai's cover of Arandano
@@Mugsi You should definitely check out Yuu Miyashita's covers of Niru's songs if you haven't already, he has a ridiculously high pitched voice that works perfectly with Niru's ridiculously high pitched tuning and I absolutely love the way his singing style complements the themes.
@@pangolin1489 Yep, I'm aware! I don't think I like him as much as other people, but he definitely excels with the brand of his range! I still prefer the cover versions of the songs I mentioned before, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them! Though if I have to say, I probably prefer his cover of A Mistaken Belief of Love the most!
I like Deco*27 because of his simplicity. I feel that even it may sound similar and generic, his songs are those you can dance to or have a laugh at sometimes. I feel that not all songs need to have complex messages because if they did, none would have as great an impact. That's just my opinion, but I see where you're coming from👍
Let me start out by saying that I respect your opinion. I even liked the video and you brought up some great points that did make sense even if Niru Kajitsu is one of, if not, my favorite vocaloid producers of all time. In fact I clicked on the video because of the thumbnail lol. I also do believe that Niru Kajitsu is very symbolic with his songs, but that what I, personally like about it, but I still understand why you wouldn't. I showed a friend one of his songs and she basically said, "Wtf, bro?" One thing with WOZWALD is that it has like a double meaning of some sort. When you compared it to "Bad Bye", I had to look up the song but I see how you could make those connections. WOZWALD also has something to do with Oswald the Rabbit, who was owned by Disney but he was eventually lost due to legal issues. I only found that out due to someone making a 10 minute article that another linked in the comment section of a cover. Yeah, I don't expect anyone to read that, but I had nothing else better to do at the time. What I'm getting at is that it does have similar themes to "Bad Bye", but it's topic is shared with the whole Oswald-trying-to-get-micky-mouse-in-the-form-of-another-person-to-kill-themselves. Again, I like really symbolic songs with dark, depressing themes, but that's just my opinion and I get that it's not for everyone. Also WOOMA's artwork is gorgeous. Also let me just say that when I saw the song, "Night Rule" when you put it in the video, I too was stunned it was a Niru Kajitsu song. I hadn't heard it before, so maybe I'm a fake fan lol. Sorry I basically wrote an essay, but I just wanted to add something that was in my head while watching. Great video. I enjoyed watching it. Again, this comment (essay) is not made out of hate lol.
I've been going back through a bunch of Eve songs I remember fondly, and I'm having trouble expressing why I like them so much. I guess I'd say that the unfocused theming and distracted visuals added to the feel for me. That I have no idea what's going on onscreen is part of what interested me, I guess. n-buna and deco*27's music, on the other hand, I just found easy to project onto a lot of feelings I felt in my own life. As I've gotten older I've found songs that more specifically apply to feelings I've gone through, but even while they don't really stick in my head as stories I still find the pure expression of familiar emotion to be cathartic. I've fallen asleep with Wozwald covers on loop more times than I can count, but BadBye doesn't nearly do it for me. It sounds like you want a very direct storybook narrative from your music but I fell in love with the malaise Wozwald builds up. I like the vagueness of the visuals, Badbye's feel really on the nose to me. I like how Wozwald doesn't spoonfeed the viewer everything that led up to the character being the way you see them. Because it doesn't feel like it's about that specific person, to me. I don't care about the oswald/disney angle basically at all. It's about the malaise, the feeling of decay. Of seeing the worst in the world around you. Of yelling at yourself about how you can't get out of bed in the morning. Of putting your problems off until a tomorrow that never comes. Of becoming someone you hated. I think if it were more focused, it wouldn't be as important to me and I wouldn't have gotten so much out of it. I don't think it has to simpler or more understandable. And definitely not more 'mature', which in the context of Wozwald being compared to BadBye I think is just being used to mean 'sterile', Overall, I appreciate your perspective. I'll be sure to continue checking out your content. I don't know why this video showed up when I searched arandano to see if any new covers of it have come out, but thanks for the song recommendations. Night Rule is really really good, and I'd been holding off on listening to newer Eve stuff since the visuals moved away from the literary nonsense style
I do like all the producers you mentioned, and I admite all those songs you mentioned are some of my favs ones from them! :) Also, I love your videos, your voice is so soothing. I'm using your videos as podcasts while doing physics hw.
When I saw Niru in the thumbnail it just killed me. He's my favourite producer. I totally ser the difference in opinions, since I do like looking into the meaning of songs, but most of the time I just bop to them. I just love his chaotic sound, since it doesn't feel JUST like chaos. It's fun, it makes me want to dance, and generally that's all I really want. I also enjoy the story telling his songs have. Most of the time it does come from the MV, not from the song itself, but in cases like Shama (specially) Salvador, Ironina and Night Rule the songs themselves manage to convey their story quite nicely. I do agree Woswald is pretty bad tho :)
I think you summed up my feelings about Nilfruits perfectly, it just feels like panic, but also fun panic, panic you can dance to. I wouldnt call Wozwald bad perchance (I am biased since it was one of my first Niru songs I listened to) but I would say that Yuu Miyashita's cover of it is prebably the biggest reason why I still listen to it a lot lol
I think it’s quite sad that you are unable to separate the meaning of a song from its sound when you don’t enjoy one or the other. You are correct that music has a story, and a good story can definitely improve upon an already great piece of music. In this video however, it feels like you take the actual music part (instrumentation, composition, ect.) as a given, and just focus on what I’d call auxillary components, such as the meaning of the song based on the words spoken. The bands you mentioned each have a very different and unique sound, independent of whichever themes they choose to speak about. Hope this comment makes a little sense, I definitely enjoyed hearing your analysis of the songs mentioned as it was a completely new perspective for me. Have a great day!
If I can be the 100th person in the comment section to tell you how absolutely wrong you are about niru kajitsu, I definitely disagree the idea that their music is whiny, or even that most of their music is pessimistic in message for that matter. For instance, the songs in the shama series are pretty clearly more about breaking free from oppression than complaining about the circumstances that got you there. I'd even go as far as to say that wozwald isn't especially whiny either, and that there's enough subtext in the song and video to understand that you probably aren't supposed to be relating to the main character. Going off of that, I would be interested in a more formal video on why you like manbo-p so much sometime in the future. Manbo has always been a producer I never really clicked with (proof geometric construction can solve all love affairs might be my least favorite song ever LOL), and at least from my perspective, so much of your criticism about nbuna and deco having compositionally and thematically uninspired music can be directed right at manbo-p with 90% of their music being the same sounding, quirky random love song. That said, I know you and others probably have engaged with their work more than I have, and if I'm completely off base I'd love someone to tell me why. Regardless, great video like always--it's so rare to hear actual critique of popular vocaloid producers, with your perspective in particular being especially interesting. Oh and for all I said about kajitsu I have to agree with you that Night Rule is probably their best song lol
I had never heard the eve song that you mentioned, and now I have. And it’s great. As much as I disagree with your takes on the artists, the songs you said were good in that bit. They WERE GOOD. So, thanks for your video and your boiled-water-hot takes
I love Niru Kajitsu so much but I do understand where you are coming from. The lack of precise story telling in his songs is what makes it so charming to me. Wozwald is a bit deeper however, it’s all about lore and connecting theories but I think he did a great job conveying a mysterious narrative with some striking lyrics and music
I gotta say, while I definitely like a lot of the producers and songs you talked about, I can also agree with just about everything you said. Keep up the good work!
Eve my boyyy, and niru kajitsuu damnn two of some of my favorite producers. Canceled Lol jk But Its interesting though haha. I love the craziness and whinyness of the sound that you dislike! Eves got a really specific sound with his guitar that he reuses alot so I understand if people don’t like that haha. Though if you like Gunjou Sanka, you should listen to Shinkai or Yusei Boushi if you haven’t already. IMO they are his most beautifully written songs in that it break from his usual rock style. I love the composition and instrumentation ! Aaaaad I’ll say a popular producer I don’t like as well: pinnochio-p. Hes so popular, but I dont really get why? His melodies aren’t catchy at all in my opinion and nothing about his music makes me “feel” anything. Everything feels… so plain..? BUT believe me when I say Non-Breathe Obliged absolutely hit me in the heart so hard. The lyrics, the composition, the PV is so beautiful and deep. Ive never heard anything that gave me so many chills in my life, but besides that I don’t like 99% of his music :P
I think that pinnochio p is a big big mixed bag. On one hand I'm glad you're evil too is one of my favorite songs and others like Whatever yama says goes I like a lot too, but on the other hand I totally think that for every masterpiece, pinnochio p has like 5-10 songs that don't do anything for me.
The way you feel for pinnochio is kinda how I feel about E ve’s recent songs (from the past 2 years or so). Everything feels so bland but each to their own I guess
i personally really like pinnochio-p's overall aesthetic, sorta like a musical form of an abstractist painting. But yeah they can sound really same-y, but like everything i feel like it's better in smaller concise doses than in huge binges.
Oh boy, okay, the slight problem with some of your complaints(With Niru Kajitsu and Eve) is that they are telling the story atleast decently, of course you can agree to disagree but if you really look at the obvious stuff in their songs. It explains the story pretty well with the visuals and lyrics and I don't understand how you can't see that. But for me I had to watch songs like Dramaturgy a few times for the visuals to really put the story together, I think you're so focused on the song and lyrics itself that the visuals don't mean anything to you and so you're ignoring them.
sometimes it's nice to hear other opinions about my fav Vocaloid prod. giving me a new point of view. not really understand about the whiny part(was it about trying to sound like badass emo?), I love Pinocchio p and Niru kajitsu, and tbh Pinocchio p contains more complain about life compared to Niru kajitsu. btw what do you think about "R sound design-flos"? It kinda gives me the same vibes with "night rule", but I was bad at giving theory so I hoping to listen to other ppl opinions. oh maybe "Sasakure uk-Ego" too sorry, my English is bad. (TvT)
I thought this was going to be about the Utattemita controversy, not how some artists aren't "deep" enough. I respect your opinions, though. Keep up the good work.
I may enjoy different stuff from you but I'm glad I found this video, You shone some light on songs I'd never consider to really listen just because my experience is different. Night Rule is now a song I hold really close to my heart cause its themes hit harder to home than the usual work they do, and it took someone not too interested in their body of work to see a gem for both of us to enjoy.
ngl the Niru songs u hate are also the Niru songs I don't like, NIGHT RULE IS SUCH A FAVE FOR ME, it was also what convinced me to start loving Kafu LOL. If u like Night Rule, you might like Ironina?
I've been a fan of DECO*27, have bought Ghost, Android Girl, and Undead Alice, and good lord I agree with your point about DECO*27's inspiration. The songs lose their magic sauce as you progress through the albums - there's only one or two songs on Undead Alice that I can say are great songs, compared to nearly the entirety of Ghost. I've always been drawn to Vocaloid because it often explores more thematic topics than just romance, relationships, sex, or some combination of the three. It kills my soul that DECO*27 has gradually leaned more towards the safe choice of "pop song about love" over the years. Like you, Milgram was a breath of fresh air and I'm looking forward to the future of that project. Point is, "Vampire" is a bad song. I strongly dislike it.
I love that the EVE song you picked is the Project Sekai one! By the time this comment was written the global version is being released the next day and I am so excited!
it's funny that you complain about Eve having "same sound problems" when you ranked all of the night song series (bad end night, crazy night, etc) pretty up on your ranking, just saying
The difference is that those are just 3 songs from Hitoshizuku's library. Hitoshizuku p in general is a compositional genius. Furthermore, I only put all of them in the "Pretty good I guess" category. Which isn't saying I like them that much, they're pretty good, I guess.
I've been listening to Evillious Chronicles, and the only track I've found so far I really like listening to is Servant of Evil, otherwise the rest of the tracks are just okay. Might be because of the order I'm listening to the tracks, but mothy's work seems really basic and kind of uninteresting most of the time without the intrigue of the story behind it
I do enjoy most of the producer's music listed in this video, but my favourite will always be PowaPowa. His music holds a very special place in my heart
i love nilifruits instrumentals and music. but the tuning is what always turns me off. like. if i ever listen to one of their songs i have to listen to a cover. the only exception are the two songs they collabed with harumaki gohan on. FRANKEN XXX and destiny are so good
niru does have some ... not the best tuning, but it actually sounds AMAZING in tricologe. the harshness of flowers voice combined with the softer tones of the instrumentals really mesh well
This shows what a good critic is like. You aren’t just saying “it’s bad because I don’t like it/it’s boring/not my taste”, rather breaking down the composition and pointing out both the good and the faults that you see in an artist’s work. You aren’t afraid to state your opinion though, and back up each statement with examples and reasoning. I should stop because I’m sounding like an English teacher now. We all know Wozwald is secretly in your top tier, though, David. P.S. A “Songs I HATE from Producers I Love” would be a great future video 😉
Funny enough, I did like all the songs from your list of producers music wise (lyrics and themes are a different story).I gues on top of mind, not a big fan of Kariki Bear. I feel like most of their songs sound the same. But I really love their song for the video game COMPASS with teh pink haired character.
idk who any of these are other than deco and you are WRONG about deco i love him edit- actually i do know niru, and i do kinda agree, but tricologe is a rare banger from them
With NBuna I don’t rlly care for their music but I rlly adore The last Train and Kafka as a book nerd and a Franz Kafka Stan. Also i love how it sounds
hOw DaRe yOu dIsLiKe here! /j It's interesting hearing what you like and why you dislike, and what you did like. Nice vid. EDIT:I just remembered coming from an unpopular opinions instagram page and I remembered one that said they hated MKDR - which was funny coz it's ur fav. Mine too XD I liked hearing your insights and while I don't agree with everything, I agree to disagree.
Damn alot of these comments a very negative. Almost sad to read them, well altough i really like alot of Niru kajitsu and eve and aeven though i do disagree with alot, i am still impressed with the video and your reasoning. Keep up the good work man
Despite your opinions, These Producers are still important till this day and they have a large impact to the Vocaloid community, Without them what will happen if to Vocaloid from NOW? it's like without a THING to exist we would never have that THING right now, No matter what opinion has here, they were still important to this community. I don't know if you thinking about them non-existing because they're "generic" then from now
niru kajitsu is boring in my opinion, wozwald and mistaken belief of love are great but everything else kinda went downhill deco*27’s songs always feel the same but his peak was when he was using gumi (milgram is good but his vocaloid songs all sound the same)
If I had a "hot" take I would rather than hearing Tsukuyomi songs (That Yurry-canon created) than hearing the vocaloid Yurry Canon songs because the vocaloid songs are not what used to be powerful anymore what It used to be, anymore... If I had an another "hot" take I would rather hearing new songs from Deco*27 than MDKR since I've became grown out of that song 2 yeaes ago, MDKR is a good masterpiece but I never played it very often like I used to before and it's... annoying honesty. MDKR has nothing new to the table it's just that old If I had a third "hot" take: Made to fall was boring to me. Hitchcock was allways my fav for a long time because of amazing of the sounding it was. (and when I mean sounding: Suis's Voice, The Guitar was so fresh). I do not like the use of nbuna's tuning of this song, Miki did it better from Unnamed Station. Sometimes it's not ok to have a opinion. this is just a request allright: I need you make a video where the songs that YOU HATED from the PRODUCERS YOU LOVE I would love to hear that in reverse topic, Idk this video didn't go well actually...
I do not like Deco and Eve and it's due to their music,,, I can respect both of them but their music is way too repetitive especially for Deco and his 10 copies of Cinderella/Vampire. But it's nice to know that Milgram exists as it keeps Deco's old music style alive and thriving!
tanta gente nessa sessao de comentarios falando sobre musica de producer como se fosse feita pra eles gostarem e se tiver musica q eles nn gostam eles ja odeiam o producer tipo 😔
the last time i made a comment like this i got called out for it so this is the failsafe reply: when i say "people in the comments" i mean like the top 20 people complaining how youre objectively wrong/complaining about things that are ur opinion
For me it's powapowaP. I don't really like most songs I hear from him. Some grew on me but I'm always aware that it had a lot to do with repeated exposure and not because I thought they were good. All that being said, Astronauts moves me like very few songs do. It's so big, and yet so small. Like it's moving the universe but it's someone singing to themselves under their breath.
I've never liked Ghost's music, a lot of it honestly physically pains me to listen to. I remember Housewife Radio was the first song of theirs I ever heard but I literally could not make it through more than a few seconds it hurt my ears. But the only song of theirs that I could listen to and liked was Candle Queen. I don't really have anything grand to say about it, not my favorite song ever but I like it decently. There's also Maretu, who I strongly dislike as a person but enjoy some of his music.
Ironically they're the opposite of this problem- their story telling and messages in their songs are very solid. But the style is not something most people like
@@savegalkissy I believe you for the messages being solid, but the fact it literally hurts me to listen to nearly all of their songs outweighs good lyrics/messages for me.
Ghost is an interesting one. I just recently had a conversation with (someone who claims to be, this is the internet) a neurodivergent psychology student about how many neurodivergent folks seem to like them because of the audio stimulation all those chaotic sounds give them that allows them to focus better. Which isn't a bad thing at all! But for me, it all sounds kind of... meh. I tend to like calmer things.
@@amethyst4578 i mean, i'm neurodivergent myself and i don't really like ghost either? i do like "it's dark" but because it's a funny little song about oliver eating dirt, though!
Curious, what’s wrong w/ Maretu? I felt something similar for the guy who made Knife and fluid explosion girl (or something?). Their music is great, but especially knowing that they’re extremely homophobic while also creating a song about lesbians (that I guess is attractive cuz they’re Fetish fuel to him, while he shit talks gay men (and would probably be the type of harass lesbians irl)) leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
it's ok to be wrong about those 4 producers

Gunjou Saika was commissioned for Project Sekai's first anniversary for clarification, there's like 5 solo versions of it sung by the characters in-game, it's great
speaking seriously, it seems like a lot of your disliked songs have really similar arguments behind them. It's always so interesting hearing the specific things you find about the songs you like, but the disliked ones seem to just boil down to "i don't like whiny things" from what i get. maybe i'm just salty but it'd be interesting to hear more specific details about them instead of the thematic thing
@@thekagepro24 *nods head aggressively*
@@thekagepro24 the man that does wozwald use references that this man does bit mention about mitologi that helps a lot to conect the songd
I came into the comment section to say something similar LOL. Like how can't you love N-buna, he's a masterpiece composer.
I wish he would listen to Ironina, that one is so good and I love the message behind it (doctorine is also great, very catchy)... bbbuuut he already thinks traffic jam and wozwald are trash so,,,
Genuinely. His opinion kind of borders on ignorance BUT to each their own ;; I def think nirus recent music has set a marked change.
This guy: Makes an in deph analysis of song's lyrics and meaning to find whether he likes it or not.
Me: Ey sounds good, banger.
better way to be lol not everything has to be deep
I will refer to two specifics cases you mentioned
In the case of nbuna. I don't really listen to nbuna anymore but that songs still affects me immensely any time i listen to it again (pretty much like Lost Time Memory)
In the case of Niru Kajitsu or more specifically wozwald.
Also sou version it's amazing
sou ver is great! as well as miyashita yuu's cover
tbh i think the guy who made this vid did make a fair point about nabuna, his music is somewhat stereotypical vocarock, but like always people will like what others think is boring or stupid. (and i am unfortunately one of those people)
so true about nbuna Hitchcock has always been my eye opening song not sure how to describe it though
Me: I can respect people’s opinions! No worries, no worries.
(Sees Eve on the list)
(Pained facial expression)
While that was my genuine reaction, of course you’re allowed to dislike Eve!
I'll definitely do that.
When it comes to Nilfruits a lot of the songs are for interpretation. And take time to understand from your point of view; i dont think this guy understands that.
plus he seems a bit biased with the kind of vocoloid songs he likes, seems like he only likes calm ones ngl
I agree, plus you cant dislike one song and just say you dont like the producer as a whole, like just say you dont like angsty music or something and be done with it...
@@kiih839 fr. Like a lot of the older ones are angsty but the newer ones are literally so sweet!!
I hope you recover from your Niru Kaijitsu hate disease
its not ok to think niru kajitsu isn't good. work on yourself and grow as a person
i agree so badly with this statement
Don't nessicarily have any dissagreements but for me personally niru's an interesting one- I like his works a lot but it''s with a couple of disclaimers I always feel I need to make (which is never a great thing to have to do.)
I tend to seek out covers as vflower's tuning can be tough to sit through with certain songs (whiny vflower in general I find difficult to listen to overall) and I feel I get far more excited for the video than I do for the song alone. I enjoy what WOOMA and Koron bring to the works especially- I feel they take things in a weird direction a lot of the time and do something with an otherwise kinda simple song and make it far more interesting. I don't know if I'm seeing things that aren''t there, or are contributions to the work that aren't specifically niru's, but I do enjoy the collective end product once it's been added to by other people, I guess? haha.
I'm sorry BreadBox, I'll have to disagree with you about Eve & deco*27
i don't know what to say other than: do you mean whiny _musically_ (a whiny sound) or thematically (a whiny _message/theme_ )
.....because ngl, I adore a good handful of Niru Kajitsu's work and I think that may be because I care less about Vocaloid _needing_ to say something particularly new or interesting to be good - Vocaloid _can_ and _has_ done so, but the idea that it *must* in order to be worthwhile or god forbid, good....actually kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I think he meant whiny thematically, that they sound like edgy complaining and stuff.
Maybe he is not edgy like all of us to truly enjoy niru kajitsu
(OUCH I just cut my finger)
But tbh he just have a different taste that doesnt suit with heavy music such as Niru's
I showed a friend one of his songs and she basically said, "Wtf, bro?"
One thing with WOZWALD is that it has like a double meaning of some sort.
I love your comment especially because you called out the amazing work of WOOMA - WOOMA is my all time favorite artist ever lol
And definitely not more 'mature', which in the context of Wozwald being compared to BadBye I think is just being used to mean 'sterile',
Overall, I appreciate your perspective.
Also, I love your videos, your voice is so soothing. I'm using your videos as podcasts while doing physics hw.
Physics was one of my least favorite classes, godspeed.
I don't know man but I really like wozwald probably still my top Niru Kajitsu song although I don't listen to it that much
@@justaway-senpai8922 i'm really glad ^^ personally it never interested me, but if u enjoy it than thats all that should matter
Have fun ^^
I think you summed up my feelings about Nilfruits perfectly, it just feels like panic, but also fun panic, panic you can dance to. I wouldnt call Wozwald bad perchance (I am biased since it was one of my first Niru songs I listened to) but I would say that Yuu Miyashita's cover of it is prebably the biggest reason why I still listen to it a lot lol
Finally someone who loves MKDR as much as me, I don't know what it is about the song but I love the beat behind it
And oh boy, it's exhausting to sing lmao. Perfectly captures the theme i guess
So you just don't like angsty music is what I'm hearing
I love Niru Kajitsu so much but I do understand where you are coming from. The lack of precise story telling in his songs is what makes it so charming to me. Wozwald is a bit deeper however, it’s all about lore and connecting theories but I think he did a great job conveying a mysterious narrative with some striking lyrics and music
I gotta say, while I definitely like a lot of the producers and songs you talked about, I can also agree with just about everything you said. Keep up the good work!
it's ok to be wrong! don't feel bad!
Eve my boyyy, and niru kajitsuu damnn two of some of my favorite producers.
Canceled
Lol jk But Its interesting though haha.
Though don’t get me wrong, I love eve’s older songs. “As you like it “introduced me to J- related songs in the first place.
i personally really like pinnochio-p's overall aesthetic, sorta like a musical form of an abstractist painting.
My favorite of these four songs is Made to Fall, that song really does literally everything right.
sometimes it's nice to hear other opinions about my fav Vocaloid prod. giving me a new point of view.
not really understand about the whiny part(was it about trying to sound like badass emo?), I love Pinocchio p and Niru kajitsu, and tbh Pinocchio p contains more complain about life compared to Niru kajitsu.
btw what do you think about "R sound design-flos"? It kinda gives me the same vibes with "night rule", but I was bad at giving theory so I hoping to listen to other ppl opinions. oh maybe "Sasakure uk-Ego" too
sorry, my English is bad. (TvT)
you're trying so hard to be different and its ok!
These comments better not turn into “no opinions allowed”
I love that the EVE song you picked is the Project Sekai one! By the time this comment was written the global version is being released the next day and I am so excited!
how can someone be so wrong lol
Its ok to be wrong
it's funny that you complain about Eve having "same sound problems" when you ranked all of the night song series (bad end night, crazy night, etc) pretty up on your ranking, just saying
The difference is that those are just 3 songs from Hitoshizuku's library. Hitoshizuku p in general is a compositional genius. Furthermore, I only put all of them in the "Pretty good I guess" category. Which isn't saying I like them that much, they're pretty good, I guess.
Sorry Niru Kajitsu solos everything I dont give a damn
I've been listening to Evillious Chronicles, and the only track I've found so far I really like listening to is Servant of Evil, otherwise the rest of the tracks are just okay. Might be because of the order I'm listening to the tracks, but mothy's work seems really basic and kind of uninteresting most of the time without the intrigue of the story behind it
I do enjoy most of the producer's music listed in this video, but my favourite will always be PowaPowa. His music holds a very special place in my heart
Man I was rlly surprised when u said wozwald was bad cuz I only listened to miy_yuu’s cover , then I checked the original and agreed completely lol
It was a rly good video and I like ur voice !
god will not forgive you
@@lottchen7976 ?
i love deco so much but a lot of his songs now are the same thing just in a different font
i love nilifruits instrumentals and music. but the tuning is what always turns me off. like. if i ever listen to one of their songs i have to listen to a cover. the only exception are the two songs they collabed with harumaki gohan on. FRANKEN XXX and destiny are so good
Yeah Wozwald and Shama especially I have to listen to with covers, the rifts just sound so bad for some reason
niru does have some ... not the best tuning, but it actually sounds AMAZING in tricologe. the harshness of flowers voice combined with the softer tones of the instrumentals really mesh well
This shows what a good critic is like.
Just curious, have you heard of the producer hachiya nanashi? I loved your takes on these producers and would equally love your take on their style
idk who any of these are other than deco and you are WRONG about deco i love him
edit- actually i do know niru, and i do kinda agree, but tricologe is a rare banger from them
Me with Honeyworks and Raspberry monster.
That’s the only song from them I like
With NBuna I don’t rlly care for their music but I rlly adore The last Train and Kafka as a book nerd and a Franz Kafka Stan. Also i love how it sounds
If you haven't heard it before you may like night is faint by Eve.
hOw DaRe yOu dIsLiKe here! /j It's interesting hearing what you like and why you dislike, and what you did like. Nice vid.
EDIT:I just remembered coming from an unpopular opinions instagram page and I remembered one that said they hated MKDR - which was funny coz it's ur fav. Mine too XD I liked hearing your insights and while I don't agree with everything, I agree to disagree.

hot take: people need to stop using schizophrenic so flippantly. lmao
YEAH seriously what the fuck was that all about
all this makes me wonder what you think about harumaki gohan and niru kajitsu's "Destiny"...Do you think their collab worked out ?
Yes I actually like that song quite a bit. I don't like it as much as night rule, but it isn't bad at all.
Damn alot of these comments a very negative. Almost sad to read them, well altough i really like alot of Niru kajitsu and eve and aeven though i do disagree with alot, i am still impressed with the video and your reasoning. Keep up the good work man
Oh wow, I thought I was the only person who didn't like Deco*27 all that much

How do we both love so many the same things and yet you hate so many of the things I love? 😭 (not actually offended)
I like that you didn’t put Jin in here. You like his songs and know the story pretty well.
Despite your opinions, These Producers are still important till this day and they have a large impact to the Vocaloid community, Without them what will happen if to Vocaloid from NOW?
it's like without a THING to exist we would never have that THING right now, No matter what opinion has here, they were still important to this community.
I don't know if you thinking about them non-existing because they're "generic" then from now
niru kajitsu is boring in my opinion, wozwald and mistaken belief of love are great but everything else kinda went downhill
deco*27’s songs always feel the same but his peak was when he was using gumi (milgram is good but his vocaloid songs all sound the same)
Absolutely love how (outside of Night Rule lol) you went with my least favorite songs all these guys have done as your favorites lol.
8:09 how is that second song spelled? Badby?
Bad bye, like goodbye but it's bad
For some reason it's hard to find this song.
P. S. maybe cause it is not supposed to be on TH-cam.

There you go.
MDKR has nothing new to the table it's just that old
If I had a third "hot" take: Made to fall was boring to me. Hitchcock was allways my fav for a long time because of amazing of the sounding it was. (and when I mean sounding: Suis's Voice, The Guitar was so fresh). I do not like the use of nbuna's tuning of this song, Miki did it better from Unnamed Station.
Sometimes it's not ok to have a opinion. this is just a request allright: I need you make a video where the songs that YOU HATED from the PRODUCERS YOU LOVE I would love to hear that in reverse topic, Idk this video didn't go well actually...
shut up 😍
I do not like Deco and Eve and it's due to their music,,, I can respect both of them but their music is way too repetitive especially for Deco and his 10 copies of Cinderella/Vampire. But it's nice to know that Milgram exists as it keeps Deco's old music style alive and thriving!

meu deus que homem amargurado
tanta gente nessa sessao de comentarios falando sobre musica de producer como se fosse feita pra eles gostarem e se tiver musica q eles nn gostam eles ja odeiam o producer tipo 😔
Meow
nah
!!
ahh gunjo sanka is my favorite e ve song ever, i'm glad that you love it as well although you may not like the producer himself.
people in the comments --> doesnt know what an opinion is
the last time i made a comment like this i got called out for it so this is the failsafe reply: when i say "people in the comments" i mean like the top 20 people complaining how youre objectively wrong/complaining about things that are ur opinion
ngl I love N-Buna but I don't like Yorushika lmfao
For me it's powapowaP. I don't really like most songs I hear from him. Some grew on me but I'm always aware that it had a lot to do with repeated exposure and not because I thought they were good. All that being said, Astronauts moves me like very few songs do. It's so big, and yet so small. Like it's moving the universe but it's someone singing to themselves under their breath.
Definition about a guy trying to look smart through nothing Burger. Lot of your reasonings are very flawed.
eve is so boring you're right😭😭
I've never liked Ghost's music, a lot of it honestly physically pains me to listen to.
