curious as to why your leader is stronger than your main? most rigs I’ve seen people do the opposite so the leader breaks first and all you lose is the hook/bait and don’t have to retie your swivel and weight

I bet there off spawn, they are were I live and it was a cold long winter here. He looked spawned out and long and skinny which is what they will usually look like after a spawn. Especially a creek channel cat. Non stocked channel cats can spawn as early as just weighing 3/4 pounds. He was All marked up so i bet he was spawning not long ago. Sweet brother.
I agree with ya man, and yeah its crazy how skinny he was I like channel cat fishing with different gear, Especially stuff like this. That fish acted like it was never caught then again I have never caught one on this small of a rod
@@whiskerwhisper it's a blast. Im lucky cause i got some descent channel cats in my area and since its the only main catfish since I don't have blues and flats. Creek channel cats is what i grew up doing when I was 9 years old.

Kouza bass would be my guess. They only get about as big as what u caught and are very similar to smallmouth. I love the video!
