It goes back to the kingsbury era. Baker gets hurt and insert Davis Webb, that changes the trajectory of tech. Alan bowman gets hurt under kingsbury and wells.
I wonder how any QB would have performed the past couple of seasons behind the OL that they've had to. I think Morten was playing with an injury even though they were saying he was 100%. I think Hammond is will probably take over unless Morten really shows he's recovered in the spring. I think the issues we saw with Hammond were from a poor-quality OL and with the newest additions there, we could see some real improvement there. There's so much changing this offseason so who really knows how it will all play out.
The tech line has been bad, absolutely terrible. Protecting the qb and mental mistakes with false starts have been killing tech the past two years. Hopefully they turn it around with these transfers. I hope leftwitch can develop a system that has all levels of the defense being attacked where kittley was either screens or verts and nothing really between.
What’s the word on the wide receiver that’s still playing in the CFP?? And anymore words on the 5 star OL that’s trying to decide between Michigan and the good guys?? I believe he’s from the Houston area and he’ll sign is contract on that first Wednesday of February!! And I got a lot more questions but I’ll go ask y’all this in the Matador Mailbag!! Thank y’all for the wonderful videos and always answering my questions in the past, now, and in the future!! JUST KEEP IT UP GUYS!! P.S. I wish Joey would do like his coaching student in Coach Prime by having 2-3 peoples and/or students make videos every day for TH-cam only in different perspctive(misspelled)!!! Because I watch theirs every day just like I do yours!!
Our teams in the big 12 under performing is making the entire conference look bad between football and basketball. Hope they turn it around and at least be competitive. As far as football I'd like to see tech go after ewers if he stays in college.
Shed some insight on Kerwin. What is his role on the floor right now? I feel like he’s Brandon Francis a few years ago having a down start to the season after a great season the year before. Brandon got hot at the end, so are we hoping for the same? Is Grant letting him work it out on his own? What say you?
Kerwin has a limited game. He is a 3-point shooter but not much else. When he is draining 3s he can play but when he is not getting shots up he is a negative on the floor.
I just hope their decision to stand Pat, doesn’t bite us in the rear end this fall. It would be nice to go into a season unworried about our quarterbacks
What about Mitch Griffis? I know he was mostly added to run reps through the spring and summer but is that it? Is there no consideration that he’s good enough to start?
I have a couple of questions. I thought Morton had elective surgery so that he could participate in spring practice. Am I wrong? What was going around on social media about Morton? What was that all about? If one stops and thinks about it, there is a pretty good sized question mark hanging over the QB room. Blanchard cooled down that Beck rumor pretty quickly. That was stupid. Tech has a physicality problem in Big 12 hoops. As Chris has said before Toppin is closer to 6'7" than 6'9" and is pretty thin. Fede is tall, but not really physical at all. Actually, I kind of worry about him fighting those spring winds in Lubbock. He isn't an intimidating factor around the rim at all. Neither guy really. Physicality is the overarching flaw for Tech in conference play.
Coleman Hawkins is a good player but he played alongside guys like Marcus Domask and TJ Shannon at Illinois. He doesn't have those type of players to compliment his game at K-State.
QB spot worries me. Morton is out until fall camp, Hammond is good but green. The matador club has a lot of $$ riding on this season to make a playoff spot and heat will be on Joey if it doesn’t look good to start the season. The Beck thing made no sense due to his surgery.
Behren is a top 20 returner but no telling what was found in that surgery. And no telling what he is asking to sign for. BUT yes the team starts today! I don't really see any serious interest unless that scope showed real damage. Beck never made sense on any level.
Everything Chris said is dead on. I have enjoyed Morton playing. Hammond is a good kid but he made too many costly mistakes when he was in the game in the regular season. With Tech getting all the talent they have I truly believe Tech is doing the right thing by finding a new quarterback. It's time for Tech to become a Powerhouse.👆🏼
We really have had terrible luck with injuries involving our qb in the entire Joey era. It sucks.
It goes back to the kingsbury era. Baker gets hurt and insert Davis Webb, that changes the trajectory of tech. Alan bowman gets hurt under kingsbury and wells.
Behren has never looked as good as he did in that first start vs Ok State
I saw Morton at HEB yesterday and he was in a full sling on his right arm
We need a star qb end of story.
Morton may be cleared to throw by May. But it also takes months to rebuild that muscle that shrunk since December.
TTU was in the mix for the media splash value. That's all it was for. TTU benefits by having their name in the spotlight for a CYCLE.
Will Hammond is our safety valve right now. I'm sure he's a c 31:35 oachable candidate who will improve with experience as Morton did.

Valuable exercise

Only 1 game difference from 2-2 and 1-3. Yet it was made to look so different.
What happened to Yallo?
One position we all felt good about is now a question. Here we go!
Our teams in the big 12 under performing is making the entire conference look bad between football and basketball. Hope they turn it around and at least be competitive. As far as football I'd like to see tech go after ewers if he stays in college.
Behrens just as good
It would be so funny if Quinn decides to play another year of CFB and goes to Tech. ❤
no thank you!
Nah

What is the most needed position & who can Tech poach?
Morton is hurt… Plus he hasn’t been amazing. So if there’s a way to improve let’s do it. Especially at QB!
Coleman Hawkins is a good player but he played alongside guys like Marcus Domask and TJ Shannon at Illinois. He doesn't have those type of players to compliment his game at K-State.
Is Lloyd jones going to miss the spring because of his injury also or where is he ?

So, I'm a big Morton fan but who is the best available QB out there?
Ewers

Re: kstate. In this NIL era, some of these teams check out early on the season but keep cashing those checks.
