I love that they could do this together but also that at the end of it Penn kind of gets what Kim is going through in her head with this.

@@holdernessfamilylaughs I have seen my body....I am rooting for those old timey bathing suits that covered EVERYTHING. I would be comfortable showing my slim right ankle (the left one is always a tad bit swollen...I should get that looked at).

Women's bathing suits are the worst! Uncomfortable, expensive, and sometimes itchy. Yuck.
@@cressingalls7794 I bought a covered swimsuit elbow sleeve top and shorts to my knees and I LOVE IT! Only have to worry about sunscreen on my face and neck! I burn easily.

Lady here. I did decide years ago to just go the comfortable route. I'm an EE up top, so for me, if I get support up there and the rest feels good on me, I'm just going to wear shorts over that, and if I'm feeling self-conscious, I'll wear a shirt over it. I don't care if I look "attractive" when I'm swimming, because it's about having fun and enjoying myself, not looking for external approval.
Note, I'm not trying to judge people who do want to look good and have fun in their suits. I'm just a grown-arse Tom Boy and this is *my* preference. It's the beauty of individuality, getting to decide for ourselves what matters to us.

I stopped wearing bikinis when i was maybe 23??? Until then, i had no problem with bikinis, thought they look cute and everything, but then the summer when i was 23 (ish, might be year later or sooner) and i just felt really exposed and uncomfortable in them. So i bought one piece bathing suit, and never went back :) and no, nothing traumatizing happened, i just woke up one day and decided to never wear bikini again
I’m glad he tried them on so he could feel how revealing and precarious they can feel.
I don't understand why women wear bikinis, it's like going out in your underwear, I have a modest one piece swimsuit with short sleeves and a mini skirt/shorts.

Shorts! Yes! This is what we women should wear when swimming. A sports bra is also a great suggestion. They sure cover a lot more! Lol

I really like the idea of women being "allowed" (by society) to just wear comfortable swimwear (shorts/shirt/etc.) instead of the latest bit of sexy/revealing/runway nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled if a sexy woman wants to look sexy and be out there for everyone to see, but y'all shouldn't feel like you HAVE to do that.
Right! You get it! I burn easily so I have a swimsuit with sleeves to my elbows and knee length shots. I LOVE it and I'd wear it even if I was 20 and that skinny again because I love not having to worry about sunscreen other than my face. But I get weird looks, like people think it's weird I'm so covered. I'm not ashamed of my body, I'm covering it because I love my body! I never want to experience brutal shoulder sunburn ever again!!!

I’ve always had body image issues even though I’m slim so since the age of 14, I’ve worn full costumes with running shorts. All of my friends wear bikinis. I really don’t care. I know mentally I would not be OK going out in them and it’s very liberating for me to just enjoy my swims without worrying about my body. Each to their own but we gotta stop blaming society when we’ve got free will. If a bathing suit makes someone feel uncomfortable, don’t wear it to seem cool. It’s much cooler to feel comfortable while swimming. We’ve gotta teach young people this instead of encouraging them to follow the crowd. My mom would always say, “So if your friends jumped off a cliff, you would too?” when I said, “But everyone else is doing it.” 🤷🏾♀️
Eh, just don't go to the beach and/or swimming. It's been years since I've gone in any body of water past the point where rolled up pant legs would suffice. lol :)

Next adventure for Kim? Woman's swim suit line. I've had this conversation with my wife. It's really hard to find something not overly showy and isn't just underwear with a different material

And it’s worse for young girls, they have very tiny bikinis for kids, cut outs over butt and hips, not ok for my 8 yr old
I like this idea! Something in fun prints and/or feminine colors would be a hit I think. (Especially for our youngest ladies.)
@@suzanneford1571I went online and bought my daughter a swim suit with sleeves to her elbows and shorts to her knees. She looks ADORABLE and I only have to put sunscreen on her face! Soooo much easier! Healthier, too!
To anyone listening, i want a tankini style (b/c a two piece makes bathroom trips easier) but that will attach to the bottoms (which should come in a variety of styles from classic bikini bottoms to board shorts) so the top doesn't flop up and expose the belly as soon as you get in the water. And plus sizes that don't assume that cagney and lacey are also plus size.

I have been the "uncool" but comfortable person at the beach for years because I have always worn baggy boardshorts and a shirt over any swimmers I own because why would I want to get sunburnt and risk flashing someone if my swimmers moved the wrong way in a wave?! 😂 I used to hate it as a teen (but not enough to take them off and risk the sunburn and discomfort of just wearing a bikini) but now as a mum I care more about comfort and not getting skin cancer! Definitely pro shorts and comfy tops!
The woman who wears a full wetsuit to the beach and goes to the pool in a rash guard and Capri leggings salutes you! No sunburn! No ogling! No sand and seaweed in uncomfortable places!
MY PEOPLE!!!! ❤ I love my swimsuit that's a swim top with sleeves to my elbows and knee length swim shorts. Only have to worry about sunscreen on my face. I LOVE IT!!! I never want to experience a shoulder sunburn ever again in my life!

Sports bra and shorts sooooo needs to become the standard swimwear for women whenever they aren't comfortable with bikinis or one piece bathing suits. For me, I'd wear a t-shirt and shorts

There are shirt and shorts looking 2 pieces now. I have a couple of pairs.
That’s what I do. 2-in-one shorts (with a tighter compression liner underneath the looser outer pair {but not too tight}) a regular bikini bra, and a rash guard on top that doesn’t come off while I’m swimming. 👍
I wear board shorts and a tankini - not the least of which because the shorts have Velcro sealed pockets.👍
I got a bunch of sizes of Old Navy men's swim shorts and kept the pair that fit best, honestly so nice to not worry about what is/isn't showing and super comfy.

You know, there’s nothing stopping you from wearing whatever you’re most comfortable in to swim. Go ahead and wear a sports bra and shorts.
I get rash guard swimwear. There are lots of options but my suit looks like matching compression shorts and a sports bra. That's what works for this mom bod.
I only ever wear board shorts and athletic swim tops now. It's too much work to go swimming otherwise.

So this year I actually found the best swim shorts that don’t look horrible at Lands End (god I sound old lol), but those and a bikini top and I am SET. 😂
Well, none of us are as young as we used to be! And Land's End rocks.

I have been buying the same one pice suit from the same brand since I was 17. If you can find something you feel comfortable in and they keep selling it no need to change IMO.

Frankly sports bras are way more flattering than most bathing suit tops in my opinion.
The struggle is real for women and men. It really is brutal being a woman with the expectation that we all need to look perfect, which most of us can’t achieve.
Penn is such a sweetheart of a man for being so understanding of his wife. And Kim I'd like to say that we all understand the bathing suite dilemma lol
You nailed it when you said "your comfortable in..." women need to learn to wear what they are comfortable in. Trust us, your husband will think your perfect no matter what you wear. My wife is perfect in a black evening gown, a swimsuit, or flannel pajamas.
They now have tennis like skirts for swimming, which works great for covering up lymphatic issues in the rear. We swam in shorts and sports bra a lot as teenagers.

Bathing suit floss is the worst! I finally went with swim shorts that have sewn-in briefs, similar to what men wear but much shorter. It was a good alternative to the swim skirt, which I don't know if I'll ever be old enough to wear.

The best purchase I’ve ever made.. no more sunburn and I don’t have to shave just to go swimming (I mean get a sunburn). And I’m so much more comfortable than walking around half naked.

I actually did go with shorts one year and loved it! I wore a bikini halter style top and short bike shorts. It was awesome! More coverage, didn't worry about the floss thing, had a pocket on the side for my phone, etc. They're the same material, so why not?

I actually DO wear board shorts and a sports bra! Best way to go ever!
I don’t experience butt- flossing in them which is awesome. The sports bra gives me the ability to take off my sun shirt for a little bit of sun when I want without causing a scene. They dry faster near my lady bits so if I can’t change right away there’s less chance of yeast infection.

The belt bag over the swimsuit is a brilliant choice. Can we please go back to 1910's bathing suits? My personal preference is the 1950's style...if I can't have my Edwardian choice.
Hey, swim shorts are awesome. Make it easy on your self! And you feel more comfortable walking around the yard or wherever while you're having to wait on everyone else, cause you know, that's our job.
