I was lucky to find a 2007 ES350 with navigation and 59,000 miles at a dealer last summer for $10,000. It now has 61,000 miles and is the nicest car I have ever owned.

Water pump failure is 100% in your future if it hasn’t been replaced already, I learned the hard way lol this year car has this problem, if you get a “check ac system” error on nav screen check the coolant level first. Look at your cars Lexus service history online

My dad got me the '08 model a year ago. It was my dad's suggestion and I wasn't very keen on the car and I wanted something like the '10 maxima. The only reason I didn't want was because the interior was a lil dirty because the previous owner didn't use the car for a really longtime. My dad convinced me that it was the engine which matters and the interior was just aesthetics which could be deep cleaned anywhere.
It has been a year now like I said, the car has been deep cleaned and it's like brand new now. The car is buttery smooth and it has got more 200k kms on it (at the time of purchase this was another concern for me). Little did I know that 200k kms for a lexus is pretty normal and it still has got like 80% of its life.
No mechanical faults whatsoever and the car runs like brand new with just the timely oil changes. Glad I purchased this car over an unreliable maxima or any other car for the same price.

Kevin, I appreciate your center of balance in giving us an overview of each car you review without getting emotional and not cursing or talking like you dropped out of high school. Keep up the good work as you have a rhythm now and your own sense of TH-cam style - that will continue to help you stand out. Peace,

Nice car, I have a 07 as well. I bought it pre-certified from Lexus with 19k miles. This has been the best car I have ever owned. She just passed 216k miles and runs like new no exaggeration. If you take care of them they go forever. Here is the maintenance I've done for anybody interested:
Normal Oil changes with Mobil 1 every 6k miles.
Water pump replacement under warranty at 24k miles.
Brakes, Tires, Batteries, Filters as needed.
Tuned up, changed plugs, all ignition coils at 160k miles.
Flex pipe to fix exhaust leak at 172k miles.
Replaced both headlight ballast at 175k miles, only one was bad but had to remove bumper for this so i figured it made sense to change both.
Replaced both headlight bulbs at 175k miles.
Replaced passenger axle drive shaft due to vibration at 211k miles.
Replaced all motor mounts at 211k, there was some play.
Replaced all hoses, serpentine belt, flushed radiator at 215k miles.
Replaced two rear stabilizer bushings that were worn at 216k miles.
This car doesn't leak or burn a drop of oil, doesn't leak a drop of tranny fluid either, never changed the tranny fluid and she shifts like a dream.
I have a very slight leak on one of the power steering pump lines that will be replaced I just ordered part.
Looking into replacing all struts eventually.
AC is like ice, smooth as silk at 90mph plus.
Every single thing still works perfectly.
These cars are keepers, I Love her!

I used to have unlimited car wash membership so I washed my car often with hot wax/ is that ruin my car shine clear coat? The hood is badly tripped off. Thinking about to repaint the hood/ put clear coat on entire car/ the head light clear coat/ fix and paint all wheel the bodyshop people want $2k to do all that/ don’t know if it worth it to pay for the look

Just thought you'd like to know the amazingly high quality of this 2007 Lexus ES350. As of this writing, mine has 379,000 miles with no significant repairs or accidents. Still has every bit of its 303 HP, mileage, dependability, and other than a few rust spots from its Michigan life, looks and feels like new! What a car. I will keep it for as long as possible to enjoy its quality and comfort.

I have a 07 with 245k miles that i bought with 231k. it already had an issue with the trans when i purchased it and it hasn't gotten any worse after 14k miles of hard driving. I really do miss mine, 2008 with 195k miles, only had to replace the struts and alternator. It was a fantastic daily driver, there is genuinely nothing like an ES350. Fantastic fuel economy, I actually ran regular for the whole time I had the car. Literally zero issues. I now have an Infiniti FX35, love the car though I miss the fuel economy of the Lexus with the gas prices 🤣. This Lexus though, an unforgettable experience! 🙏
This thing absolutely grips through snow with the traction control off. Genuinely got me out of situations that I thought would have gotten it stuck. Predictable and safe!

My first and favorite car! It was handed down to me by my father when I got my license back in 2016 and it's still looking and running well at 220k+ miles in 2022. I don't want to upgrade, but I know I'm going to have to soon since I've been driving so much. I am unsure yet if the newer models are as comfortable as this one and I don't really want to switch brands, but I just know that I don't like the remote touchpads for any vehicle 😭

Love this GEN even more than my 2002 ES 300. Styling is boxier but still sleek. My ES300 just turned 168k miles and smaller 3.0 liter engine gets better mileage than my previous 2013 ES350 especially highway. I’m getting about 29-32 mpg highway with Shell Premium 93 octane.
Definitely my only gripe is also same , rear seats don’t fold down BUT the steel bracing makes these ES’s tight. In addition to all the insulation, My ES is solid, not a creak or rattle after 20 years !
Late last year I had all 4 struts replaced now it rides like new ! And now the rear end sits up higher the way it was designed too !

I commented On this video a year ago. I purchased my 07 October 31, 2020 with 231k miles. It now has 265k miles and has been very reliable. I’ve replaced water pump, serpentine belt twice, idler tensioner assembly, brakes, front & rear struts and sway bar links, front axles, spark plugs, transmission fluid at 233k…..it drives really good still. Only issues I’ve had since day one is the transmission flare between 3rd-4th(it hasn’t gotten worse) I love it very very much. I won’t purchase anything else but a Lexus. I will drive it out of town every chance I get even with the trans flare. I believe the trans problem is more of a nuisance than a reliability issue. The fact that I put over 30k miles with the trans flare from when I bought it at 231k says a lot. No telling how long the flare existed before I purchased it!

I couldn't agree more. This is my daily, purchased with the same mindset. It deals with the potholes, has plenty of power, space, and all the newer car amenities (push button start, etc). It is remarkably quiet on the highway. I paid $6k for mine, so I couldn't care less if it gets scratched, dinged, or putting miles on it. Only gripe is the visibility. It is really tough to see around for a regular sedan.

just recently purchased a 2007 Lexus ES 350 for $13k only had 1 previous owner and only has 71k miles ! Interior is mint, no wear on any of the seats or arm rest. Mine fortunately just about came fully loaded with the nav, heated and cooled seats, parking sensors, reverse cam, sun roof, memory seats, afs headlights and rear sunshade. Only thing I was missing was that mark Levenson sound system and the pano sun roof. I am currently 22 and I will say out of my previous 3 cars I owned, this is by far the best vehicle. The ride quality alone is what separates this from any other sedan on the market. On my drive home on the freeway I literally felt like I was just gliding, the suspension handles all impurities in the road amazingly. Also talk about rear passenger room ! The rear passengers have PLENTY of room. I will say that gas mileage isn't greatest, but I have a full tank last me about 2 weeks with mainly city driving. In my opinion that is pretty average so it wasn't a deal breaker for me also considering this vehicle takes premium. With all that being said I have owned the vehicle for a month now and I absolutely love it.

You don't have to put premium gas in it. I have owned my '07 for a year now and I use the lame 87 octane CA gas in it with no issues. I drive about 2.5 miles per day and it only gets about 17 mpg, but otherwise it is a great car!

I bought a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 with navigation, basically fully loaded in October,2021…….This car basically has 90% of the features of a fully loaded Camry….. only thing missing is the real wood, cooled seats (Camry has heated seats) and the extra 4 horsepower cause the 07 Camry V6 makes 268hp with REGULAR gas (87 octane in USA), so yeah……the Lexus obviously has leather on the door panels as shown in the video and more soft touch materials but not far from a fully loaded Camry of that era

The seat covers were $450 And 160 professionally installed. They look better than new and the car looks great. I am keeping the car so it is justified. Amazing how quick this car is but if you step on the pedal your gas mileage goes down quite a bit. Lexus reliability is where it is.

My neighbor gave me their '07 es350 w/69k on it last November. It has the same discoloring on one of the headlight covers so I to figured it was in an accident too. When I do a sharp turn on the repaired side the steering is horrible. I think they just didn't report the damage to their carrier & had a
cosmetic fix only on it to save $$. They also never replaced the melting dash(even though they had 10 years to do so). But for free, I feel very Thankful to them!

I’ve always newer Toyota’s and four years ago I got a company vehicle and wanted to buy a older Camry or a Avalon just to have a low mileage cheap personal car.
I ended up paying a little more and I bought this exact car with 140K miles for $8K. The car was awesome it impressed me so much that I was hooked on Lexus. I put on some Michelins, did some suspension work and the car drove like a brand new car. The paint was very neglected and had a ton of surface scratches but after I hit it with clay bar, and some hand polish from 5’ away it shined and glistened like brand new.
I had it for about a year and then the dash started to disintegrate, and unfortunately the sticky dash campaign had just expired a few months before mine showed the signs. I tried the dash mat and hated it more than the stickiness itself. I thought about putting a few grand into it and making it perfect but in the meantime when I took it in for the airbag recall I was given a loaner 6th gen RX and I was hooked. I ended up selling it for basically the same amount I bought it for and purchased a 19 RX.
It was a great car but I would suggest for anyone in the market for a gen 5 ES to get a 2010 and newer one. There are many small annoyances in the 07 that Lexus completely ironed out for the refresh. For example peeling steering wheel buttons, the interior led bulbs were horrible (orange and tiny), the center console didn’t open enough and had a tiny useless orange led bulb as-well. Many more small things that should be considered.

The '07 ES 350 has a defective aircon evaporator that will crack and coolant will slow leak. To fix the aircon leak the whole dash has to come apart so about $2500 to repair due to labor. The cheap plastic window clips for the 2 front windows will break- I took the doors apart and fixed myself. The alternator job is expensive at $1300, and these usually go at 80 to 100K miles. The paint will spider web if you don't park in a garage. Lot's of the '07 ES will have rear brake squeal in reverse gear. Put an eBay dash pad on to slow further dash stickiness. Other than that, a pretty decent car.

Make sure to change the trans fluid on these if you pick one up. We had the shift solenoids give out on the transmission at 160,000. I think it would have lasted longer if we did a drain and fill since these are sealed transmissions. Other maintenance items include front passenger side upper dog bone mount needed to be replaced due to the age of the rubber, it just disintegrated (60 dollar part that installed in 20 minutes), new alternator, battery, radiator and hoses, and the auxiliary input jack stopped working. It gets hot where we are at so rubber parts and radiators tend to fail where we live and start to leak around the plastic end tank area.

Yes, that rear seat pass thru. You can carry your skis or a few 2x4s. It's silly, but does work.
I like this car. For ~$9k, this is a good deal, in my opinion. Of course, I am a dedicated LS460 guy, so for another $2-3k, it would be tempting to go that route. There is something about the styling of this era ES that doesn't look quite right -- maybe the hood to trunk proportions are a bit odd, or the curves of the dash are a little off, but those are minor complaints.
Not sure whether the ES shares similar common problems to the LS, but if the ES avoids those issues (front end, suspension, etc.) this is far better. And the premium this gets over the comparable Toyota product is well worth it. I do think this is a deal, even with the minor condition issues.
I like these vids, as others have said, on good older model deals. Nice job on this one, keep finding us hidden gems!

How does this car compare with the ES330? I've read that the ES350 doesn't feel as heavy as the ES330. Are there any other wood options for the center console? It seems like every ES350 I see has that hideous orange veneer. I have a 2006 ES330 Black Diamond edition and absolutely love it, but when it's time to replace it 4 or 5 years down the road, There are likely to be more ES350s available.
