    pro tip - leaving the mirror adjustment in L or R position; the mirrors will tilt down to the ground when you have the car in reverse. :)

    I just turned 404 000 miles on my 2003 Lexus ES300. Routine maintenance. Drop transmission fluid every 80 000 miles. Including new water pump and radiator fluid. Change oil every 8000 miles. I put in half synthetic oil at 200 000 miles and full Synthetic at 300 000 miles. 0/20. Routine maintenance works. No engine pinging of any kind. Still Original transmission. I am shooting for 500,000 and it is parked right next to my 2023 lexus IS 350 F sport. Red with black interior. You gotta luv Lexus. Great cars

      Agreed! This 5th gen is better than the 6th & current 7th gen IMO. My grandma has a 2012 ES350 (final year of this gen) that she's had since new & has been flawless so far. I've driven the current 7th gen a few times & hate it compared to the 5th gen.

      @yoo.ck. my '07 ES350 is at 158k and I notice a bit of a sputtering that only
      happens when the engine is cold during warm up, then runs smoothly after warm up which i looked up & is a coolant temperature sensor that relays to the computer to give more fuel when cold

    You started the acceleration showing 2nd gear on dash, the computer starts take-offs from a complete stop @ 0 mph in 1st gear automatically, since it would never take off on any other gear that is not 1st. However, when you shifted it manually, since it was already showing (2nd gear) when you took off, the car when to 3rd gear, so it felt like a drop in torque due to the lower RPM, technically going from 1st to 3rd gear...This is normal, but if you're going manual shift, start at 1st. Regarding what you might be feeling with the pulsation on the steering wheel while breaking, it is 9 out of 10 (rotors needing resurfacing) for a lexus anyway, these cars are solid... This is usually just the front rotors. It is recommended to get new brake pads at the time of resurfacing the rotors, since the caliper is pushing pads that are already "grooved" on to the smooth disc if you resurface rotors and not change your pads. These vehicles at 180k miles need nothing but simple services usually.

    I own a 2009 Lexus ES350 and absolutely love it. It’s in a beautiful red color with black interior (pretty rare spec for the 5th gen). It also has extra wood trim around everything. Idk if the previous owner had it custom ordered like that or not. But since you liked the wood trim a lot, you’d love what’s on mine. If you’re curious about what I’m talking about, look at one of the videos on my channel of it. It looks great. Great video!

    Posted may of 2024. I just inherited a 2007 es350 Lexus. I went to pick up car and was astounded to see four thousand one hundred miles on the odometer. I talked to the next door neighbor and found out it has sat unused for seventeen years in a garage. She drove the car some the first year but after that only once a year to have the oil changed. There was also a 2005 Lexus SUV with 42000 miles on it. My sister took the SUV. These were very unusual people that for 45 years bought at least four new cars a year. Some years as many as 6 new cars. They never went anywhere except to the grocery store or to a dealership to trade for a different new car. Never went to a restaurant one time in their marriage. They were famous among dealerships in a 100 mile range from their home. The state of Illinois investigated them and once tried to make them get a dealer license. Once he died it all stopped and was frozen in time in 2007. Strange.
