  • Honda CB750 Front Brake Master Cylinder Rebuild | Motorcycle Weak Brakes Fix | Part 24
In this Honda CB750 rebuild episode, I rebuilt the front brake master cylinder on my CB750 project bike. I am building this bike to be a road-going runner, not a full restoration.
Here's what I used in this video:
Honda CB750 front master cylinder rebuild kit: ebay.us/ho3KbT
Oil Syringe Pump Brake Bleeder: ebay.us/pM4MJE
    Circlip Pliers: ebay.us/HewSNq
    Small Pick Tools: ebay.us/j8uDjF
Although the master cylinder on my Honda CB750 project bike wasn’t leaking and did seem to bleed up OK, the front brake was still very weak.
It was suggested that, although not leaking externally, maybe the master cylinder was leaking internally preventing it from giving maximum braking pressure.
I decided to rebuild the master cylinder with a kit so that this wouldn’t be a possibility.
The inside of the master cylinder did contain a lot of congealed brake fluid and there was some corrosion, so a rebuild was a good idea. I tried the reverse filling of the brake system to make bleeding simpler. It surprised me how quickly the fluid came through, and I had a little fountain of brake fluid. I did finish off with some traditional bleeding.
If the brake performance isn’t better I think I will replace the brake lines next. If that doesn’t work then I may have to consider fitting a second disc and caliper and just accepting that the Honda CB750 stock single caliper and disc setup just doesn't cut it by modern standards.

I've been watching your videos for some time, on a variety of items, and just have to say your temperment for these sorts or repairs is wonderful. It's so helpful for everyone doing these same reapirs, and a valuable resource. It's also very soothing to watch you work!

I'm having the same issue of a soft brake, which a fresh brake bleed did not fix. I ordered a kit and may see about a braded line as well. By the way, I really like the shirt you wore in this video!! Brett from Florida, USA

Great job. You have a nice relaxed way of working which I enjoy. Also no desire to make the CB 750 look factory new which I like and retains the bikes history, warts and all. Thanks and keep up the good work
