I think its amazing how the devs give us one teeny tiny addition to a game and how some can manipulate that into some freaking jaw dropping designs some, such as yourself total, satisfactory gamers are truly a different breed and I mean that in the most honorable and respectful way possible I cant get anywhere near your level of artistry but that is why I will always keep coming back 😁 Chao for now!
I don’t see it in the comments, so I’ll leave it here. When using the copy paste function, you don’t have to open the menu for the item. You can just look at it and do the copy paste. Same for all other machines in the game.
I think if you're really dedicated, you can do that disco in the end in vanilla if you make use of some really smart power cables and a power source that turns on or off at specific moments (coal would be ideal since u can control how much water it gets with a valve so you get the plant turning on or off at specific intervals). You wouldn't be able to do anything for the signs, but the lights would turn on and off at intervals that you can specify. Only reason someone would do this is for the challenge.
Yes, lights are a science of their own. ;-) I wish we could just freely turn the spotlights so we may easily put our building to focus. I'm sure they will be giving us additional options until release though... 8-)
thank you very much for all the videos on Satisfactory - very helpful thanks!! Just a question, I saw you place a wall mounted flood light on a tilted wall, and you seem you be able to adjust the angle of the flood light at 6:20 ? how did you do that?
@@TotalXclipse can't believe you would actually reply! Thank you so much - I tried to do it on a tilted wall , but I just couldn't adjust the angle like you did - lol sorry to be such a noob - what button do you press to adjust the angle?
Hi, again grear tips to make the buildings unique. I really like it. But if I can ask a question I would like to know, how you can colour code the patterns on the foundations which was seen in the video on tc 5:16?
Now imagine if these signs actually emitted light - as in, affected the area around it such as a (way too fricken big) ceiling light does. That would be nice.
Please answer me thisbecause perhaps I am doing something wrong. Am I right in saying that, though you can use signs for lighting, it doesnt operate as such beyond what you see on the sign? What I mean is, if i place a sign on a ceiling, make it white and make it as bright as possible, the light will not cast on the foundation below at all like a light would normally behave?
Hello, does anyone have an on idea on why does the tip of using painted beams to block part of the light does not work for me ? It does not block any light
nice! i see people using lights like this but never bothered to learn, thanks for making it easy for us lazy people! and jeez jp really is good at this game aint he lol
if i use signs many inside with coated floar, my fps dips down, even if i use it as a sign for storage , not even as light im running a 6800xt + Ryzen 9 5900x 32gb ram so sad :/ any solution? Update: nvm i Change to Direct12x and suddenly it works.....
im having a real hard time figuring out how to properly use a light switch. i change the color and ever light on my whole map changes. iv looked everywhere and no one has a tutorial on how to use one.:(
As much as I would love to use more lighting in my save... Just wish there wasn't such a performance hit for me. Like my Base, got no machines running in there, outside I'm at 120+ FPS, soon as I step inside, I drop to below 90 almost instantly.... So I guess I have to wait for game optimizations, unless someone has a better idea?

Do that with multiple coal plants isolated in parallel, then turn them on in sequence for a nice chasing effect and absolute hair loss.
What was your favourite tip to Lighting and Signs?
Thank you for this video from 2 years ago 🙂
Cool video! I really liked the uplight part, definitely going to incorporate those in my builds :)
Yeh it's a bit finicky to do, but possible, perhaps they'll make it easier in the future for us!

Same, that would be soo good! Just give us a rotating piece.
I would love small spotlights like in Subnautica, current lights are way too massive sometimes
I didn't know the sign backgrounds are animated! lol Seems to me the Beam is becoming the most useful part in the game.
The lightshow that turned out to only be a mod was some really underhanded baiting. I'll remember that about you TotalXclipse.

By placing it on a titled wall it allows you to do that 🙂

@@fredericscooper2471 after you single click the light onto the wall, before the second click you can adjust the angle using the mouse wheel :)
@@TotalXclipse no way! didn't know that- thank you so much

@f.s.596
You can do that by changing the second color on a color swatch.
Now imagine if these signs actually emitted light - as in, affected the area around it such as a (way too fricken big) ceiling light does. That would be nice.

I'd love to use lights, but whenever I do it tanks my fps, so I run around in the dark with my torch.
Hello, I was wondering if you would have a great Red color code. It feels like red is rly hard to get. It's always to pinky or orange.
Thanks
i think the best tip was the animated walls i thought that they looked so good
Yeh I love using them!
Any objects that stop light? I tried having colour 1 of ground floor and colour 2 on 1st floor
But that just makes the colours mix on ground floor..
A Lightstrip would be great
I don't have any signs or lights listed in my Awesome Shop, is there a tech level or something I need to unlock to get them?
What is the best mod to use to get more lights. The "light it up mod" no longer works do to it being out dated

Anyone know how to obtain/unlock lights? Not sure if he said how in the video might have missed it :/
Pretty certain I said In the video 😉
