Wow, with no experience and at the ripe old age of 55 I’m attempting my first van conversion. I can only dream of carpentry skills and accuracy like that! Sooooo talented and absolutely love the design!
Ah thanks so much, I'm sure you'll do a great job, I had to phone my dad and ask him how to take a drill bit out haha so I'm sure you can do it, let us know if you have any questions and feel free to send us some pics of the build!
You are such a multitalented man, and your attention to detail is phenomenal. Is there anything you can't do ? I just wish I could have had someone like you before the nightmare we had with a micro conversion. So unique and so nice to see real wood used. Please keep going.
This is a beautiful conversion! I'm currently working on my little NV200 too, so have taken some inspiration from this. Mild regrets on carpeting my barn doors now that i've seen how neat they can look with just the nice panels! xD
35:35 - what we use as filler, to avoid that discoloration is to mix the sawdust into some glue and then use it as a paste/filler so that the color of the filler matches the color of the wood.
Absolutely brilliant build!! Well done!! I do a lot of sewing and I'm slightly angry it never occurred to me to use double-sided tape to keep things in place before stitching... Normally swimming in a mountain of pins 😂
Hello, i love your designs i have been binging your channel over the last week as I've grown passionate about the concept of upcyclying vans into camper vans. I also just find your style very enchanting. I am wondering if you have any tips for beginners for getting started on doing something like this?
That's great, thanks James! I was going to so yes, get someone else to do it 😂 But no, not that I'm an expert, but I think having a good plan to begin with is helpful, it gives you continuity in the design and also ensures everything essential to you is present and will fit. Add 15% to what you think it will cost to build, people forget you need adhesive, glues, screws, latches etc. Kreg/Trend woodworking jigs are a great woodworking tool for beginners, you can use them to frame everything from your bed to your kitchen units, be sure to buy a few clamps with it to ensure the joins are nice and neat! The almost halfway point when you're putting the cladding/walls up always seems like breaking point to me, but don't feel disheartened about how long it has taken, it'll get there eventually and be worth it in the end. Also, don't be disappointed if you make mistakes, it's all part of the learning process and best to accept beforehand that they will happen, I probably redid 1/3 of the jobs on my first van conversion. And just a few small tips, don't over-clamp bonded windows, remember to use a voltage drop calculator when sizing wiring, use a tough paint/finish for heavy traffic areas, ventilate, double-check your electrical system is large enough to stay off-grid if you intend to and ensure you have enough money left to actually insure it, fix it, and ultimately, travel and enjoy it, best of luck 😁✌️
Hey Joe and Beth, amazing build! I’d love to match that craftsmanship on my own Nissan e-nv200 conversion. I’m just starting out and now figuring out the electrics. Question: why did you choose to use a leasure battery? Could it also be possible to just update the starter battery and power everything from there? I figure that there would be less losses? Thanks! Bart
Hey Bart, thanks for stopping by! Yes, there's a chap called Glyn who you may have seen on here already who did exactly that. I personally put the leisure battery in for a few reasons. Firstly it ensures the starter battery doesn't go flat, secondly starter batteries are designed differently to leisure batteries, they're better for giving a high amount of current over a short period whereas leisure batteries are better for a low amount of power over a long period. Also, we have an induction hob so wanted to make sure our leisure battery was plenty big enough to support that off-grid. I'm sure you could use the starter but you may have to consciously switch the van on to ensure it's topped up, I believe this is what Glyn does, he has a single induction hob. Should prob note there would be limitations on the amount of output from the starter battery to known as the max discharge rate, each battery has its own limitations but I imagine a single induction hob would be pushing it. Hope that helps 😅
I've been thinking about the NV200 for quite a while. It's this or the Toyota Proace. The key thing will be the bed size. 160cm wide is mt ideal size. What is the finished bedsize? We love you your real wood feature items: the spice rack; the lift up marketry table, the shelf, the circular feature light; the rear step detailing; the shelf; but especially the control panel. Try & try again! You've done well!
Hey Karen! Thanks for the kind words, it's only around 100cm wide, I think the whole thing is only 160cm wide 😅 you might be able to get a van that has room for a kitchen unit up top, perhaps a VW Caddy Maxi for example
Hi Great van build I'm building a simulator pull out bed system love the idea of the legs to support when pulled out, can you tell me were you obtained the knock in inserts for the legs. Thanks
Hey Ian, yes of course, here's a link to the eBay listing I bought them from www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222910188029?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Hfz_4EI6R_e&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=weZm3lMvQ8q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
22:47 - Dude you’re spending WWWAAAYYYYY too much footage of this one item in comparison to everything else. I thought I had somehow left and gotten onto the wrong video. Don’t get me wrong, your creation is beautiful but if you’re going to show that much detail then give it it’s own video.
Rip saw blade (5 minutes) versus cross cut saw blade (40 minutes). We're losing our cultural base lore on non-electric hand tools, and it makes me wanna cry/lol

This has got to be the nicest NV200 on the planet 👌👏👍🚐
That was bloody amazing, imo the best camper build on TH-cam.

Bro!!!!! Amazing you r super talented......the music is a.beast that intro and when you started the work time for headphones 😅
Well done! I've learnt a lot from your video and will be back to watch it a few more times as I begin my van build shortly. Thanks :)
Great, hope all goes well

Ah great, let us know how it goes, there's a great fb page on env200 conversions if it helps
Wow!!! It was a wonderful conversion!! Full of details that make it unique!! Congratulations guys!! Enjoy your new caravan!! Greetings from Chile! ♥
Thank you! Will do!
Absolutely gorgeous, great job two the two of you. I love the wood work ❤
Thanks! 😊
A TRUE WORK OF ART !!! congrats for that lovely conversion and a lovely couple !!!
Thanks Puzzle magnet, that's much appreciated ☺️
Wow I just love it!❤
Itˋs perfect! 👍🏼
34:45 - very nice dove tail join!

What a great product and a first for E-Campers I would imagine. I'll take some of those ideas please 😊
Haha please do
Beautiful micro camper! Making the video must have been quite a job too. Thank you!
Thank you Laurens, that's extremely generous of you, really appreciate your support! Joe & Beth x

haha to be fair, at least you can reuse them 😁

I live in the USA and we only have gasoline nv200s, not any electric ones.
I own an NV3500 that I am going to be converting soon.
Whoa just looked it up, looks pretty beefy, didn't know Nissan made vehicles like that!
The weight of the build does not influence too much the distance you can still cover with the van ?
Only a little, the entire fit out came to 200kg and managed to get around 120 miles the other day on mostly 60mph+ roads

Incredible!!
Your car is modified really nicely. I wanted to ask, how did you transition between the roof at the back and the driver’s seat area?
It wasnt really designed for that, it's pretty tight between the seats but I'm sure you could if you squeeze in enough 😅
Complimenti ❤

@@WoodandWild Thanks
Can you put up a short video of the inner roof panel build please, would love to copy if that's okay?
Yeah of course, I'll try and out one together over the next few weeks 😊
Can you share the dimensions of the wood you use for the bed? Cheers

Круто. ТЫ робиш хорошу роботу🟦🟨
It's a boy lol !!
Great skill and attention to detail, but that van has to be the ugliest van I've ever seen lol
Lol it can't be worse then that cube shaped thing!
The weight of the build does not influence too much the distance you can still cover with the van ?
Hey Didi, the fit out weighs 200kg in total so it affects it a little but not too much, I got 130 miles out of it the other day fully laden 😊
