OMG you should really have an HGTV show of your own where you do room or even house makeovers using mostly thrifted items because no one is as talented as you are, in my opinion. I have always been a bit of an 'arm chair' decorator but WOW, the way you create your inspo board and then take your time and look for thrifted items to DIY is so inspiring! Curious...how much did that room and closet cost you in total?
@@shannoncaines1482 Right? And if I'm not mistaken, she said the cost of the headboard she was using as an inspo was more than the cost for the whole room makeover. So it sounded like she spent about $250 on that room! I haven't found any of the other DIYers on TH-cam or any of the designers on HGTV create such a gorgeous designer-quality room makeover for $250!! She needs to have her own show! I'm such a fan 🥰
This looks so good. I would love a follow up on how much you spent and if you were able to sell the meat grinder. I am for sure going to try the colorwash idea.
Seems like those are beer glasses... your work is so clever and always turns out nice. I enjoy doing more completed projects like the ones you show... still on a budget but not Dollar Tree assembly crafts.❤👍
@FiaGarciaDIY I made the huge mistake of suggesting to a person whose title was quick and easy crafts, or something like that. I asked her if maybe she could teach something more elaborate. Something we could put in our house and be proud of. I noticed in a lot of these Fast Craft channels that their homes do not display their crafts unlike yourself. Well, I opened up a can of worms and got bombarded with a bunch of suck-ups telling me what a lousy piece of crap I was LOL! I also made the mistake of telling her some of the things that I had done like 40 years ago before Dollar Tree was even a thing and I learned a lot through that and through Christopher Lowell who I don't even know if she knows who he is. Anyway, she was relatively kind with her response finally but not before all of the viewers told me I was garbage and should go elsewhere! I told her I didn't think that the creator of the channel would appreciate the viewers sending other viewers elsewhere. I find that happens a lot if you try to make suggestions that aren't in line with the suck up mentality . I mean, I come on to TH-cam to learn mostly and get the news, I don't watch regular television, but I won't make that mistake again! It's definitely worth mentioning how beautiful your items look. I don't even want to call the crafts they're more like projects. I don't understand why people just want to assemble premade crap, lots of it plastic and then throw it out or display it on a counter together dust until they make a new one. Well, there is an earful!!!
@janicetribbiani7535 I forgot that I mentioned all of that! Oh yes, there is a lot of suck-ups out there. I love videos like this. FIA does her own thing and she's good at it. It takes skill. People aren't will to spend time to make something special... Christopher L. was great!
Quite an amazing transformation! I'd love to see it completely done in a number of different lighting scenarios. Also, where did you get the dresser that's in the room?
Girl, YES. GORGEOUS. Can I send for you to come help me. Even with videos, I can't see it come together in my place Lucky to find a picture light at the thrift store. I ordered mine and love it so much
❤❤❤ YOU are the DIY Queen 👸🏻 Hope you & your family are doing well. Thank you Ms. Fia for sharing such beautiful ideas. Sending much love & good vibes your way.
Brand new to your channel. Your ability to foresee the beautiful end result with "just a little" renovation is amazing! Thank you for your inspiration! Blessings
Hey gorgeous happy blessed Sunday to you and your family 💗 love these inspirations I have so much projects to get done it’s just been nonstop busy plus having the grandson puppy 🐶 your technique is amazing. I am addicted to large vase 🏺 and live to redo them I did a bunch 😊of DT has fall florals already the flowers looks amazing everything came out exquisite. My fav are vase and the leather hack! Have a lovely week 💗🦋🌈💛🧡💙
Ok SO that fake lime wash looked amazing. This will now let me try it. Before I didn't want to try it because of the expense and if I messed it up it i would be so mad. But this way you could just paint over it with the paint. Genius!!!. Thanks for sharing. And it looks beautiful.❤
I normally love pretty much everything you do, but for this guest room, I'm more for practicality. There's ZERO storage here: no drawers or shelves in the nightstands, no dresser, and no closet space. Where will your guests put their things?
Totally hear you! I have a tall dresser in the room that’s empty for guests to put their things and also a collapsible rack under the bed should they need to hang anything! I just didn’t include it in the video because they weren’t thrifted or DIYed! :)
@@FiaGarciaDIY Ah, OK then! Perfect. BTW, I wouldn't expect you or someone to have to have absolutely everything thrifted. By showing the dresser and other necessary items, that would complete the picture, and it adds to, rather than detracts, from the whole room. Practicality plus beauty equals a functional, usable space.
I'm simply in Awe - I would love to have your skills - I don't but I am sure gonna give some of the projects a go! Thank you for showing me that you can have a beautiful space on a budget.
I have to agree with all the comments here Fia. You have an incredible talent to transform everyday items into masterpieces. Your design aesthetic is impeccable. I live near your favorite thrift store and enjoy shopping there once in a while. Maybe I'll see you one of these days. Sure wish I had your vision!
Fia! Your DIYs are always so beautiful and classy. I was wondering what you think of doing a faux marble top with a paint and epoxy kit? I have done so much research and I feel confident that I can pull it off but I’m still nervous about wear and tear. But I did find some acrylic cutting boards with an edge “lip” so we wouldn’t be cutting directly on the epoxy…
@@FiaGarciaDIY ❤️Excellent! I hope you will share it with all of us whenever you do get to do it. I’ve bought my kit and I’m going to do it this weekend. I got the one by Giani! Fingers crossed! lol
I have a guest bedroom in need of help--and now I have a direction! I want a fabric headboard and love this one. I even have a couple of linen drapes I can use to cover a FB Marketplace find.
Pretty kool< loved all your hacks >. yo😅u're quite a talented person with a great eye for quality designer pieces, and then how you've achieved that luxe look for less is incredibly brilliant. That's a hats 🎉 off salute from me. ... Do impressive, every time just what you've achieved....Koodoos❤❤❤
OMG ❤🎉dear, this makeover is simply stunning! You are great!!!! I love the style and elegance, the modern and fashion style, but with great personality, your personality!!
I absolutely loooove the headboard!!! But, I have a question because it is thrifted. How do you make sure the fabric and cushions don’t have lice or bedbugs? I have seen items before but am so worried I’m going to bring home some additional critters. 😕
When reupholstering, starting in the middle of one edge and smoothing out to the corners will allow for a more even surface. Pull extra fabric and smooth it out at the corners to look more professional.

I wanted to buy that very bed from that thrift store and my husband didn’t like it!!🤦🏼♀️😂
Looks amazing!
Lol men!! Hahaha thank you!!
How do you clean fabric bed heads after people have made a mark with their head from sitting up reading resting their head on the fabric?
I use a disinfectant spray and then let it air dry, usually does the trick!
I recognized those tiles--then I recognized the bin tags. Shoutout to Menards if you want those same tiles!
Yes!!!! Menards!!!!

You can do it! Believe me, if I can do it so can you!
The sheer curtains wouldn’t provide much (any) privacy at night. Do you plan to add heavier curtains?
