    Even after university, I still find myself watching all of your videos. I learn something new every time :). Thanks for the video Tom! I think sponsors are a win-win for us viewers and you. We can support your channel and get a deal on products/services that would be of value to us. Keep up the great work!

    How do you deal with the practicing being extremely boring.

    • @jonatanguitar
      @jonatanguitar 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I'd say connect practising with rewarding yourself. Like "if I do this for an hour I can take a snack afterwards" or similar.

    • @rainnnnn28
      @rainnnnn28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Like the other person said, set up a reward system. For example, "I will learn this sub-skill for a certain amount of time today. I get to reward myself afterwards by watching a TH-cam video for 10 to 20 minutes". Something like that.

    • @jonatanguitar
      @jonatanguitar 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      That's a good system. Also it can help to be very specific with the rewards as well. In this case if the reward is "I'll go on youtube", there's always a risk that you'll stay there for a long time, so be more precise like "I'll watch 2 youtube-videos but not more." That can help a lot. Especially if your reward is something like "eat some chocolate", how much is "some"? :)

    I have a bit of a caveat to what was said about imitation, as it applies to drawing and animation: it's good to break down what other artists have done, but it is far more important to draw from life. Whether you're doing still lifes or animating from a motion reference, it's incredibly important to draw from real life if you want to improve.

      Depends on what career or skill you want. Most of the time though the things you learn in school are usually very applicable to a large variety of other skills, you just don't realize it until later. If you're certain your career is not going to take any advanced math for example, by all means, don't spend time in that area. If you have any feeling it might, however, you'll probably still want to go to school and learn those skills.

    I think discontinuation/ long breaks disturbs the mind and it's difficult to start again. I keep on doing practice of any skill unless I am sure that I have learnt that particular skill.

  • @monugupta32
    @monugupta32 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    What's your opinion on learning skill on-by-one vs multiple skills together in terms of efficiency ?
    I mean, learning one skill by dedicating more time to it to a point where we get good enough that no more time investment is needed & then move to the next one.
    vs
    Learning little pieces of let's say 2 skills everyday consistently so that everything remains fresh in memory.

    Waw, skillshare sounds super cheap compared to other "educational" sites! (And looks like the quality is a lot higher). I will definitely give it a go! The skill i want to master is better english. Conversationally it's ok, but when natives hear me speak and butcher their language in videos... need to improve that :D

    Thanks. Could be useful for the hardest subject of all (harder than Math, Algebra, physics, philosophy): programming (coz' it's a combination of all that and more). God bless, Proverbs 31

      I use Premiere Pro for cutting the footage together and adding music, and After Effects for all the animations.
      Also, thanks! Glad you liked it :)

    Thomas, I'm on SHS, on my schedule's school there's one hour for counseling. I think counseling class just useless( we just playing around and do nothing) .I wondering what if we go home and study/rest instead of attending the counseling class.
    Which is the best way?
    Thank you

    I really liked this video. Also, the clips you inserted were different. Not bad, but different.

    Thanks for the awesome video Tom! I just learned to juggle, play the guitar, and solve the Rubik's cube (each within a week) based on your tips! I even started a TH-cam channel to document my progress.
