You've got a great format for showing these games - Then there's the special sauce in moments like these:
"Someone [in the town] was complaining about a lack of entertainment. < _Points at tavern_ > - Well, there it is, so no excuse." 🤣
As I frequently do with your liberally applied quips, I got a good chuckle out of that. In this respect, don't ever change, @Surtr! 👍
Aww, thanks kindly.
I have loved following the development of this town so far! Getting into the higher tier production chains with mining is so exciting, been playing along the series since release and haven't yet got into that but my Bailiff is starting to find many deposits.
Loving the videos!
Cant wait for more 😁
Thanks very much.
Great game, enjoying your city building series.
Cheers! Glad you're enjoying it.
Please more! make that plateau surrounded by houses and buildings it will look really cool especially when you have the castle up there. I will look like something out of game of thrones.
Love this series! I think you could also do an enclosed space with walls/fences instead of buildings. Also for fortification, the tower modules in the buildings have a fence symbol and they provide light fortification, so you don't always have to place watchtowers.
I didn't even think of that. Thanks.
This serie is amazing!
Thank you.
👍
Thanks.
Just one word of warning. Once you start building the Monastery you never stop.
LOL, it seems that way.
You can alter what side of the fence is facing in and out. It is that "ying yang" arrow button when you select the fence.
Cool, thanks
The monastery is coming along very nicely! I am wondering why you've chosen to make the enclosed area with buildings instead of fences or walls? As a child, I actually lived across the way from a monastery (occupied by the so-called Poor Clare nuns) and the 'enclosed' portion was a large (unpolished) stone wall about 7 to 10 meters high (20 to 30 ft) and topped with sharpened stones to keep us kids from climbing over the wall! (You could also hear large dogs inside, so that was yet another deterrent!)
Looking forward to continued city growth and castle construction. 😁
The hill should be where the castle and military barrack should be.
The forest gets gone by building in it, by the builders, so you don't accidentally destroys resources you want.
Hilariously, one of my migrants was named surtr - i chuckled at that
Dang it. Late again. It still counts but I want to maintain my stats quo..🔥 vid bud
Thanks!
I would give my quips of advice, but since I only have the demo, I don't know what else is in the game, I can't unlock any of the other building areas (Monestry, Castle etc). I just watch to giggle a bit, also, when you put up that fortification fence wall, you should have put in a couple of specific gates, that way you control/limit the pathing that people take (just like using the fencing in the village house areas to control where the roads/paths end up).
I appreciate the advice, thanks.
From my experience.
Ok this is the first vid in your series I started whinging through the screen 😅
There are so many ways to spend money you are neglecting. I don't think I've seen you promote any of your villagers for a few vids now... go into your villagers view, see which villagers are in jobs they need to be promoted for (this should help with supply chain issues too). Decorate your labour buildings (markets, manors, guard posts etc) to boost your labour splendour. Import more complex food until your supply chains are optimised. Reposition some of your inefficiently placed buildings, place a heap of fences or bridges etc. Also, you are taking on massive building projects... but aren't addming more builder's workshops and builders. With all the time they take off from work, no wonder everything's taking forever to complete.
IMO you're underinvesting in patrollers and watchmen, instead of placing wooden watch towers which will just overwork the small amount of patrollers and guard you have, place new Watchposts (the manor tower kind), even just a single tower which will give fortification to nearby houses anyway, and then you can have a few more patrollers and guards to look after the nearby homes.
Many of your problems could be resolved by just slowing down and taking a bit more care. Often the tooltop of a building or unit it is telling you what the problem is, but you don't read it. For example when your industry town was wanting to downgrade all the homes, the Watchpost was telling you there weren't enough guards. Check the options in your granary, you can set it to pull stock from other granaries, solving your refined food problem in your industry village. The answer is often right in front of you if you took just a couple more seconds to read the text or hover over some options.
Finally, please stop ignoring your edicts and priveliges! You could easily unlock new privilige slots or switch up your edicts. Same with your tax, you did the quest to unlock that new tax but didn't even open your tax window to check it out or implement it.
Finally finally, please add more entrances to your major buildings! That whole monastary only has one way in & out. You'll at least one in the interior when you finish enclosing it.
I read every word of that. I hear you and apologize profusely! I'll try to slow it down .I do see a lot of what I am missing while editing and while tinkering between episodes. I will do better but now I need to lie down. That was a heck of a roast.
@@surtrplays oh haha I'm sorry dude, please don't take this as a roast! Just some gentle ribbing 🤣
In all honesty I'm loving your series the most because you're the most onto it! I only make it one or two videos into other people's series, yours is awesome! Your editing and humour is also fantastic, so your vids are much more entertaining and watchable than others 🔥
As you've said, you're thinking about more than just the game while you're playing and recording so I totally get it. Plus this is supposed to be fun, and I can tell you're having it so that's the best thing. Don't listen too much to randos like me on the internet!
I'll definitely be watching all the rest of your series so keep up the good stuff ❤️
