Rebuilding the counter stern of my boat! ** Episode 11 **

In this episode i get started on shaping the fashion piece by scribing some templates from the unfair surface on the counter stern with the help of my father.
Then fitting these templates to both edges of the timber i can transfer the lines in which i need to shape the wood back to in order to achieve a snug fit.
Once i get the timber to a close enough fit i can then rip down the next timber to then fit to the top edge of the first board using a hardwood tongue ready for the correct bevels and deck camber to be marked on and shaped.
Whilst i let the glue set i get the tape measure out to work out whats needed for the next step. Rebuilding the coach roof!

@@ciberbri59 Leo actually had one that I'll never forget. He was dismantling the boat and springing the planks away. He was at the far end of one with the camera nearest us and a plank came away in slomo ... absolutely awesome.

Great choice of boat, a ferro hull is an amazingly resilient thing.
Had to subscribe. Your channel popped up in my recommended list today and I couldn't resist seeing some one working on a ferro cement boat. The lines on the oyster smack are really nice. It is very nice to see you get your own project after working on Tally-Ho. Take care Finn and stay well.

Hey Finn, got a few suggestions, my favourite being "Reefinn" because part of the cement came from a reef, obviously your name is at the end and the fact that you'll be doing a bit of reefing soon !! Other names could be "Route 66" 'cause some of its made from concrete and it goes a long way and has an awesome song about it. Of course "Infinnity" "Finnished" etc are all good. Good luck !

The owner was having financial difficulties and it became clear I was starting to fund his project. She definitely is one you could fall in love with!

Man theirs so many “Finn” names you can come up with. Personally I like finnicky. Knot finnished is good with the sailors knot and it will never finnished because it’s a boat.
