People say this was a sand ending for buster when they talk about this movie. And I wholeheartedly disagree. What's better than being beaten by someone that finally acknowledges you for your efforts and shows you the respect you deserve. I'd say he went completely at peace with it in the end.
Coulda handled a full length movie of this character.

This is one of the greatest scenes ever..This really deserves its own movie, and the Coen Bros have created another piece of cinema history
That shot from inside the guitar looking out is a prime reason I like the Coen brothers! Such brilliant imagination.

Would love to see a “prequel” back story movie on Buster Scruggs. Highly intriguing and entertaining character.

Buster Scruggs (1819-1873), nicknamed "the San Saba Songbird", was an American gambler, musician, and outlaw from Reata Pass, San Saba County, Texas. the “San Saba Songbird.” Others, less generous, refer to him as the “West Texas Twit” or the “Runt of Rheardan Pass.” His wanted poster, in what is presumably an inside joke on the Coens’ own reputation, is more succinct: “The Misanthrope.”
2 million views in 3 years is not enough for this, lets all share it, many times.
EVERY damn line in this short feature is a hell of a one-liner, memorable and quotable AND FUNNY.

Absolutely wonderful. The script is amazing. I do hope Buster somehow comes back. After all, he makes you feel so much better about things.
So from the dead man's hand to the cowboy in all black on a black horse who's been looking for Buster and gives him his praise and kicking dust at his feet to show respect...it was the Grim Reaper the whole time
There needs to be a full length movie of this character.
