Amazing video 👏👏
Nice to meet you Chioma 🩷
Watching from Scotland a mental health nursing student soon to graduate in 5 months. Just applied for my first job in Old age Psychiatry. Still considering the options of moving to Canada, the cold is scary to my hubby.
I totally understand where you’re coming from, don’t like all those aspect of nursing you mentioned, reason why I settled for mental health😊.
Reason I love nursing is that there are always jobs for nurses.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice content. I’m happy a pharmacist is sharing her experience in nursing. Sometimes, we try to explain but people just do not understand. Until you are in nursing, no amount of explanation can really make people understand.
My sisterrrrrr wetin my eye don seee😂😂
Hello Onyeka 🤗I’m Augustina, I’m watching from Nigeria, I’m a health educator, a new TH-camr and presently a student nurse 😊. Thanks for all the information you share with us, I find them really helpful.
I’m so glad you do!!!
Watching from Germany and a certified caregiver.
Healthcare is not a joke ooooo, i always get my mind prepared and mentally fit before my first shift for the day.
I always give myself a pep talk 😂
@@OnyekaAsamaka😅😅😅
I’m Kemi from Nigeria, a microbiology graduate, recently completed my mandatory NYSC program
I’m looking forward to study nursing in Canada by God’s grace as there are no good paying jobs in Nigeria without connection
I totally understand ! Nice to meet you too 🩷
Absolutely loved watching this
Abigail from Italy, I’m an Educator
Lovely to meet you!
Nne imàkà seriously ooo ❤❤❤
Thank you for the video. Please can you also do one with comparing salary to cost of living
Already filmed it🥰🥰 will post it soon
I like how honest you were in this video. Currently working as a psw in an LTC here in Hamilton Ontario
Thanks 🥰🥰
All the best, it’s not an easy job 💪🏽
You made my day girl. I am in the position where I do not know what to do. I am a foreign pharmacist (from Haiti) and I am a Certified Pharm Tech in the Us. Actually I am in quebec and have an admission for nursing school, while I am trying to be a pharmacist. You made my day, I laughed and I tried to see what should I do.
Hi, I am Chisom. I am watching from Windsor. Thank you for the information.
Heyy girl 🥰🥰 #southwestontario
The hair is giving ❤❤❤
Yass girl 🥰🥰
Hi Onyeka. Thanks for the information. Im transitioning from banking to healthcare and i hope to start with a certification in health care aide. My long term plan is to do something in mental health and my 1st degree was in psychology. I recently immigrated from Nigeria and based in Manitoba.
A degree in psychology is a good foundation 🩷
Rooting for you and wishing you all the best
Hmmm since a Nurse could feel this way then who am I? I got a caregiver job(psw) and when I got there the person was quadriplegic, what I saw with my two eyes🙆♀️ I couldn’t sleep when I returned, I was always scared to the extent I had nightmares about this person. I’m OK now but I rejected the Job. I decided to try Health sector cos they’re in demand but right now I would rather stick to my hospitality Management, make I no do pass myself abeg.
This is a safe space🤣 thank you for sharing. Omooooo sometimes you think you can handle certain things, but really no. Please do what you can handle dear🥰💪🏽
You mentioned hospitality management. May I ask which role in hospitality is attainable for immigrants over there or what role are you currently on?
I studied hospitality and tourism management for my undergrad in Nigeria .
@@Allthingsbube If I got your question correctly. You can work anywhere in the hospitality industry for Example Restaurants, hotels, casinos, hospitals, Events centres, Events planners Etc you can also start your business. I currently work in an Event Centre. Where did you do your program? Please NOTE, this is my area of specialization (I owned a Restaurant/Bar /Event center and Lounge in Nigeria)
@@Allthingsbube Again, the Province of Alberta is bringing out PR pathway for people in Hospitality industry here in Canada, do stay tuned and wait for their criteria to be qualified. They will announce it 1st March.
I know myself and I didn’t bother following the crowd to change to healthcare.
Hi Onyeka, I love watching this video with your honest and detailed experience. I'm from Qatar, a level 4 CNA student, I hope to find a good healthcare job easily and move to Canada after graduating my level 5, or else I'll consider UK or Australia
Thank you 😊, I’m sure you’ll make the right decision 🩷
Hi.. asking for a friend. How can one come to Qatar for work?
Lol, I'm halfway through residency and once in a while I catch myself thinking about other career options. Healthcare is definitely not easy. Somehow, I thought things would be easier in Ontario than NY though. I was going to pack my load and move back to Canada next year😭
Girll you’re halfway done already? I remember when you started like it was yesterday 😩.
It’s hard but definitely rewarding 🥰
Hi Onyeka, amazing as always. This your wigs always be giving, share your plug biko. Graduating as a Project Manager in 6 weeks (yes I'm counting down because… 😂) I'm in Barrie, and I work as a Project Coordinator
Congrats and good luck on your graduation 🎉
My wigs are mostly for @lushbyuche on instagram 😘
I'm Anu. RPN in Toronto. 1st nursing job was on the Cardiology unit.
Hey Anu! Well done 🎉
I heard cardiology can be tough though 😧 how true is that?
Thank you onyeka for the video.please where is the better place to work as a nurse.hospital or long term care.where are you working now?
It all depends on what the individual wants. Some love bedside, outpatient, long term care, nursing research, public health and so many other options.
Kudos, outside your nursing degree, did you attend any other education before transiting to mental health nursing .
Loved watching this

Hi @Onyeka please a quick question... Do you need to have the previous degree in healthcare within Canada before you can qualify for accelerated nursing or the first degree of pharmacy from nigeria is fine ?
No that’s not needed. You just need to have a previous degree and the required prerequisite courses.
