I love gems and stones. I have a black opal bracelet that I adore and wear on special occasions. I have a number of rare valuable stones in my collection. People generally have no idea what some of them are nevermind their value.
I actually grew up not far from where the red beryl mine is located. My dad works for a beryllium processing plant and would often bring home beryl stones (not gem quality) because I thought they were cool. Beryllium is used in cellphones, aircraft, and many other things. My husband also grew up there. Most of his extended family are jewelers. His grandparents own the red beryl mine so he knows quite a bit about the gemstone and can identify it.
Mj Carian Vlogs they are created at the mantle but also the supply of diamonds is extremely controlled, the DeBeers corporation has a massive supply of diamonds but they control how many they sell off each year. They also ran very successful ad campaigns back in the day that created the illusion that diamonds are a must have item, thus increasing the demand for them. With high demand and limited supply, the price of diamonds went up significantly
@@Lenin941FN Furthermore, improved technology has meant that lab-produced diamonds are rapidly getting to the point they are near indistinguishable from mined ones which makes diamonds even more ubiquitous. So I agree with you - why pay so much for something so common? De Beers are the Shrkeli of gemstones.
@@fReAkLaNcEr123 You are correct. But for something that is ubiquitous anyway in nature, and now has competition from lab-created diamonds (which can omit undesirable characteristics such as inclusions), it just seems that there is less need to pay over the odds for them. The whole reason diamonds are so expensive is really down to marketing genius. But I do certainly get your point.
I agree but the red beryl has to be my favorite! red , black ,white and grey r my go to colors just imagine that red beryl cut up into diamond shapes on a gun metal finish dog tag with small cross charm beside the dog tag ... I think that sounds awesome personally
I chipped my black opal over 25 years ago and I still haven’t forgiven myself! I love the unique nature of all opals. I brought mine back from Australia which made it extra special.
I do gemstone restorations and I also know some of the best opal cutters in the world if you’d be interested I could hook you up with Justin from black opal direct
Then again the price of diamonds are inflated because of their meaning, they aren't expensive in the terms of rare, or expensive in the sense of one of a kind. Just expensive number wise.
Diamonds are a perfect example of the power of propaganda and how it is pushed in society. Diamonds are rather plentiful, but the mines are all owned by the same tribal cabal. They control it so they can fake scarcity and thus drive up prices. Diamonds are just one of an infinite number of examples where our masters push lies so as to make money and control reality. If you think otherwise try to get a job in Hollywood, or in the diamond industry, try to challenge male circumcision, or any number of "norms" in our society. Everything should be open for debate in an open society, global warming, vaccinations, money to Israel...but if you work in the medical industry, education, research...you could very easily lose your job if you question any of the establishment's narratives. Diamonds are just the best and least political examples of the power of propaganda to push an idea to the benefit of the powerful over the people. And certainly getting someone to go into debt to pay an exorbitant price for a diamond with little or no value is certainly power.
The fact that people still spend what's equivalent to hundreds or even thousands of hours of labor, services or goods for shiny rocks with no usefulness whatsoever other than being shiny rocks still baffles me.
@@Irisicaaa My point is why spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a pretty rock when you could buy a supercar or a house or literally anything else that can actually do something.
@may day Of course, it's their money. I'm not criticizing anyone or calling anyone stupid. I just don't see the appeal in gemstones. They're very pretty, but there are many things in the world/universe that are just as beautiful, or even more beautiful, and don't cost a single penny.

Nash but now we know the gems that’re gonna take over in an alternate universe and murder everything because they’re more valuable
*Fuck Steven Universe*
Diamonds are only expensive because the supply is extremely controlled. Diamonds aren't even that rare or valuable
Yangster Supreme diamonds are expensive because they are only created at mantle
@@cosmiccandy8704 which is why you also pay for GIA certification which only certifies mined diamonds and not synthetic ones.
Love awesome gems. Great video.
Yay! My country Myanmar is in this video! Immediately liked this
Am I the only one who thought the red beryl earrings looked like 2 Halls cough drops?
Could it be? 🤔
I agree but the red beryl has to be my favorite! red , black ,white and grey r my go to colors just imagine that red beryl cut up into diamond shapes on a gun metal finish dog tag with small cross charm beside the dog tag ... I think that sounds awesome personally
I never heard of Red Beryl, but I have heard of Queen Beryl.
😂😂😂
Heard of none.

Gosh, people can drop half a million on a shiny mineral, and I can't even afford a cheap microwave to make delicious popcorn.
Sadly profesional microwaves are better and you can actually cook things in it without that soggy texture cheap microwaves do
@@hiwelcometochillis2579 there really is such a thing as professional microwaves?? Wow I had no idea

Plus diamonds aren't even rare, just one company owns them all, and makes them expensive.
The fact that people still spend what's equivalent to hundreds or even thousands of hours of labor, services or goods for shiny rocks with no usefulness whatsoever other than being shiny rocks still baffles me.
Spoken like broke ass bum
Shiny rocks ❤💖💕💎👍
Well value is subjective in everything beyond basic needs. Go live like the primitive person you are, caveman. ;)
They're very pretty, but there are many things in the world/universe that are just as beautiful, or even more beautiful, and don't cost a single penny.
black is beautiful, it makes since it's most expensive. Black Opal
kinda weird he made that reference about the black stone, why wouldn't it be worth something
6:16 that stone is Charoite, another Russian stone discovered in 1978. One of my faves 💜
I love it, too
Petersite too
Amazing video thank you so much!
