I had a game just like this yesterday, a friend I was playing with had that boss item that gives you two probes, they both became void infested. He murdered me, he murdered all of us.
I had a 4 player game, where with trophy hunter use, we ended up with 5 Halcyon seeds... the golden boi one shotted the whole party because we didnt notice the parasite.

My RoR2 deaths as of recent 25% burn damage (roll back to early access fire damage are we?) 10% void field/Void damage 5% collapse (I rarely get void seeds and then to kill Infestor asap) 30% fall damage loop + enemy attack 15% Blind archtype enemies (pest/vermin) 15% other (overloading/stupidity/ Stone golem,etc..)
God this DLC is literally Risk of Rain's Crimson Court, it just adds a few new things and makes *the entire game* a fucking nightmare but we still love it.

My first encounter with the void bugs: I had just picked up a queen's gland at the end of the stage. It infested my new beetle friend and I had to kill him. Beetle friend immediately respawned and was infested again. This went on 5 more times.
I hadn't played in a while and forgot I had deliberately not gotten the achievement for the squid polyp (activate 6 turrets). Picked up expansion, God run with engineer, achievement unlocked... very next game dead and collapsed from a corrupted squid turret
What's sad is I kinda want a summoner style survior since this game has a minion mechanic and she could cast team buffs for them, but the existence of the parasites makes me NEVER take drones, polyps, and minion items anymore. I can turn off the dlc but it breaths new life to the game and I live it.
this was the EXACT same way i learned drones could be corrupted it was a really good run and i was cleaning up the remaining items around the map before heading through the portal to the moon and then as i was picking up an item, i started getting attacked and died in an instant i was confused and shocked to see that i had died to an incinerator drone
honestly the only reason i have a problem right now with these infestors is because of their ridiculous stacks of collapse that they can instantly kill you like this, doesnt matter how much you are a god at thinking on your toes you just die instantly

@@hellfrozenphoenix13 The biggest problem right now is that not only did they add a new red that severely buffs your drones, but they also have a collection of yellow items that give allied units, all of which can be corrupted. And drones don't tend to miss much, so you'll have collapse stacks rolling on you so fast you may as well just say 'goodbye run.'
I HATE these things. Ironically, I've done the best against them *with* Engi. Little auto-target lads shred them apart and target them the instant they're spotted, pretty nice

@@temphy this isn't true. I made a post about it some time ago, but 1 collapse stack equals between 6 and 7 bleed stacks, so you need thay much more time to kill fof bleed to outscore collapse. That's 18 to 21 seconds for time to kill and, frankly, most things don't take that long to kill by stage 3. If it does, you are trying to save a bad run.

By the time you've gotten off 1 collapse stack you can easily score at least 4 to 5 bleed stacks even with just one dagger. Also, going off of pure numbers ur calculations are quite off and I don't know how you arrived at 6 to 7 bleed stacks per 1 collapse. Collapse does 400% after 3 seconds while bleed does 240% after (3 * proc coefficient) seconds (20% per tick 4 ticks per sec). So it only in fact takes TWO bleed stacks to equal the amount of damage collapse does at basically the same rate. Keep in mind the higher ur bleed stacks the higher that % per tick goes. So, as u stack more bleed collapse has an even HARDER time keeping up with it. And they have the same proccing system so it's not like that matters (10% chance * proc coefficient). Although collapse may take down smaller mobs faster bc it's insane damage the DoT of bleed is multitudes better for bosses and big boys. Also stage 3 is arguably the easiest stage in the game if ur playing well, like you said most things on stage 3 die very fast including the boss. However, stage 4 and 5 are where enemies truly start to overpower you purely bc ur spending more time traversing the bigger maps of stage 4 and 5 and this is where bleed shines. Bc let's be real, ur not gonna have enough attack speed or enough needletick to stack an impactful amount of collapse. However, you don't need much attack speed or daggers to stack dozens of bleed stacks bc it doesn't reset unless u don't proc it for a couple sec. With any character that relies on on hit items I would take bleed over collapse any day unless going past 3rd loop in which case you have enough attack speed at that point to outclass bleed with collapse. Although this is all from personal experience on monsoon with a character that heavily relies on his massive amount of bullets to proc on hits (Chadtain). And so I still stand by my original statement.
This effectively makes the new item that upgrades drones the worst item in the game because if they get corrupted, you're beyond dead and there isn't anything you can do about it. Either that or you're literally just not allowed to use void items. Just had my run ended by my own drone who had a chaingun and a missile launcher because one of these things managed to survive and sneak away somehow.
I was confused as to why there was an engineer turret and no engineer, but then I noticed the engineer was already dead Stuff like this is why I kill the little parasites as soon as I see them, like opening a void cradle and looking up to immediately kill any that come out of it
It is a shame these made all allies completely and utterly worthless unless you have 2-3 of them in close proximity away from corners. Engineer placing 1 turret is now the worst possible choice you can make in the entire game.
The seeds aren't what makes allies useless tbh. They die quick. The fucking void jailors with heatseeking instakill explosions that your allies don't try to dodge.. yeah, those took me from 20 drones to 0 real quick. I had a run with 4 super-drones with drone parts and they were all gone in a couple stages.
The squid turrets are even more busted, because void invested get needletick, and squid turrets I dont think they can miss, and spawn at every interaction, and I'm pretty sure they scale with enemy damage when they get infested, it just hurts so much

Had a Captain run where I got the new spare drone parts item and one of the big expensive drones and one of those fuckers infected my drone, which then proceeded to gun me and my friend down with very little effort…
One time i got the new red item spare drone parts, made every drone a massive bad ass no matter what, i was buying up every drone and letting them kill the whole map for me, i also found the trophy hunter's tricorn and gave the spent hat to an equipment drone, then the equipment drone got corrupted by a void infestor and i got gunned down while "ahoy!" popped up in the chat. Probably my favorite death of all time, I wasn't even mad
When me and my friends play I always thank myself for playing captain, because it doesn't matter if those bugs take over one thing or even two, I've got another 17 drones keeping us alive.
One of the reasons I love risk of rain is because you will just get shut down immediatly by something random even though you may have 3k health. I was running a REX run and I had 17k Total HP, but I died because funny physics shot me off a cliff 8 times and a void infester tickled my toes and I died. Great game I love it.
There's already been multiple cases of spawning into stage two directly next to a Void Cradle, only to get the Void item, drop to half health, and have an Infestor corrupt my Beetle Guard
I didn't even know these littler bugs were responsible for the infestation. I thought those void fog flowers were doing that. I always wondered why they came out of void chests.
I used carbonizer turrets to clear out an entire void bubble. Their targeting usually sucks...since they will usually just shoot whatever is closet to them and ignore anything else. But with these little void pricks that flaw becomes a major boon. It's extremely useful.
At least it was a non moving turret here... now try to escape a quiet probe with it's laser xD other than that they keep infesting my healing drone which is quite funny
Further note, just read the new patch notes, void investor can’t infect turrets or drones,fall loop had a bug fix to address, the glitch causing massive burn damage to you is apprently fixed, all burn damage has been rebalanced to more reasonable damage calcium across the board(different fix from the burn damage glitch), and the void areas have been nerfed in terms of spawns and the sort
Note worthy also, all damage from void fog ramps up over time the longer you sit in it,ignored tougher times and safe spaces and armor plates so be aware it’s Highly deadlier

unrealistic, the infestor wasn't completely atomised with 38k damage along with the beetle

I died 2 times to a corrupted squid turret that got created from me opening the void crate... It was 2 times in row, i had DIO but apparently squid turret is the same stand type as THE WORLDO so he killed me again
Yup had that happen when I had the artifact that caused everyone to die when one person dies it aggravated me

Only time this happened to us was somehow during the Mithrix fight and it took us two days to figure out what had happened.
Had a Captain run where I got the new spare drone parts item and one of the big expensive drones and one of those fuckers infected my drone, which then proceeded to gun me and my friend down with very little effort…

So this must’ve been how I was killed by my Polyp
One time i got the new red item spare drone parts, made every drone a massive bad ass no matter what, i was buying up every drone and letting them kill the whole map for me, i also found the trophy hunter's tricorn and gave the spent hat to an equipment drone, then the equipment drone got corrupted by a void infestor and i got gunned down while "ahoy!" popped up in the chat.
Probably my favorite death of all time, I wasn't even mad

When me and my friends play I always thank myself for playing captain, because it doesn't matter if those bugs take over one thing or even two, I've got another 17 drones keeping us alive.

One of the reasons I love risk of rain is because you will just get shut down immediatly by something random even though you may have 3k health. I was running a REX run and I had 17k Total HP, but I died because funny physics shot me off a cliff 8 times and a void infester tickled my toes and I died. Great game I love it.
Tis why i place a bunch of spider mines around my turrets whenever there are void enemies

There's already been multiple cases of spawning into stage two directly next to a Void Cradle, only to get the Void item, drop to half health, and have an Infestor corrupt my Beetle Guard
I didn't even know these littler bugs were responsible for the infestation. I thought those void fog flowers were doing that. I always wondered why they came out of void chests.

I used carbonizer turrets to clear out an entire void bubble.
Their targeting usually sucks...since they will usually just shoot whatever is closet to them and ignore anything else.
But with these little void pricks that flaw becomes a major boon. It's extremely useful.
At least it was a non moving turret here... now try to escape a quiet probe with it's laser xD other than that they keep infesting my healing drone which is quite funny

Literally everytime we and my friends open one of the void things to get an item and a friendly Npc is around I feel like I'm about to defuse a bomb
had a gun drone that got infected, got hit twice and I imploded under the weight of a thousand suns.
Here after the patch that makes it so they cant latch on to drones and sentries anymore. And i can safely say that i will NOT miss this

I had a Void Infestor take over my Goobbo Bandit clone. Straight up killed my friend and me.
Had a friends gunner drone they picked up get a 4k on us... they're now banned from buying any drone that isn't a healer drone.
I do believe the fall loop and burn damage have been seen as bugs
Further note, just read the new patch notes, void investor can’t infect turrets or drones,fall loop had a bug fix to address, the glitch causing massive burn damage to you is apprently fixed, all burn damage has been rebalanced to more reasonable damage calcium across the board(different fix from the burn damage glitch), and the void areas have been nerfed in terms of spawns and the sort
Note worthy also, all damage from void fog ramps up over time the longer you sit in it,ignored tougher times and safe spaces and armor plates so be aware it’s Highly deadlier
