Thanks for all the support team! From liking the videos, commenting, subscribing, buying us a beer or calendar ❤ Hope you enjoy this 40 minute mega ep! One of our most memorable episodes yet! Cheers & enjoy 😁🍻
Hi guys I have been quietly been following your journey for some time, backtracking to the very first episode. Your adventures have been epic, your story telling entertaining with the filming and editing progressing from well done to excellent. The detail and emotion you captured and described in this episode is as good as I have seen on the many dinky dye "explorers" that I follow. Congratulations for having the guts to get up and go in the first place and thank you for taking an old dreamer like me along for the ride. Gary
Hey Gary, such a nice message to receive. We are thrilled you've worked your way though our back catalogue & can see some progression in our video making. We're very grateful to have you along for the ride. Cheers, Hayley & Brad
Honestly for me this is your most epic episode yet. So many unforgettable memories and challenges the Kimberley has given you, all captured on your incredible videos for you to look back at forever. And the total remoteness of McGowans and everything that comes with that is a once in a lifetime experience I reckon. Couldn’t love an episode more. ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Robyn, we will never forget the challenges that come with creating this episode - worth it in the end absolutely. Such an epic experience of a lifetime up there in the remote NW Kimberleys. So thankful to have you following along 🧡
Bugger, that would have been a great fish. One reason we don't use light rods and line up in places like that is to get the fish in to the boat as fast as possible. Not very sporting but I'm not there to let the sharks have a feed. I use a short solid glass rod wth hardly any flex, 120lb wire trace and 80lb line. They don't fight on that for long :) Not a bad queenie - they are actually good eating when they are fresh. Just pop the meat on a BBQ with some lemon pepper. Not a fish we put back if they are size.
Yes it was a hard lesson, have never been exposed to that kind of fishing before! Thanks for the tips & im sure we couldve landed a few with that knowledge. Also good to know about the queenie, i wasnt sure if they were good eating so with half a mack there we just threw him back 😊
Oh Brad, I was both excited and anxious watching you real in your mackerels, what a bummer but how good to see how big that first one was. Love that you used the fillets to make a curry, that looked sensational. Keep smiling! Cheers Marg
Hi guys great video as usual I have a 79 series Land Cruiser like Derik and I have a custom made fuel tank on the head board of the tray in front of the canopy 170 Ltd + I carry another 100 It’s in gerry cans I have never come close to running out of fuel + we pick it up cheaper at start of or trips and we tow a van 3.500 kg
Hey guess what? Your calendar arrived today and the photos are sensational! Its going to be soo good sering where youve been each month and it will give us a reminder of you guys and that we need to head out too sometime soon! Thanks again for such a great idea! Everyone needs to buy one ! Phil
Yes the one that got away lol I bet you are sick of that red dirt by now. I used to live and work in red dirt. It gets every where including your bed .
The heat would have been a killer this time of year. Pity Little Merten Falls wasn't flowing for you, usually has a good swimming hole at the base and more Aboriginal art. Just traded my old off-road van in on a new Gap 601 so I know (once again) where I'll be heading after the wet season finishes. Drysdale station truly is an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Now I'm wondering if you did the Karunjie Track when you headed out, the dry mud flats are an awesome sight against the Cockburn Ranges. Awesome video again guys.
The heat was a real killer! Yes the falls there were barely a trickle. Lucky Mitchell was still flowing. We didn't do Karunjie, but have it earmarked for next time we are in the area. Hope you enjoy the new rig & never know might see you out there sometime soon!! 😁
I almost caught you guys in Manjimup as you were leaving Fonty's Pool and again in Bunbury while you were a truck driver driving the SWHCo truck at the Port. Pity I didn't realise until you posted the video after you left
A really great video the content was super shame about the fishing but almost got the big one haha, you two really travel to some out of the way places wow, can't wait for the next instalment. Happy Travels 🤗🤗😁
Cheers Keith, was a shame but still got somewhat of a trophy! It sure was an epic trip & we will be finishing it with a bang heading to along the track to El Questro & finishing in Kununurra in the next EP. Safe travels 🍻😀
We had a bunch of other travellers tell us that they prefer McGowans over Honeymoon. We enjoyed our time at McGowans, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see honeymoon because of the fuel situation, so can't really weigh in on our preference.
Haha u guys make me laugh! Your like, im soo thirsty and hungry. Nothing quenches your thirst like cruskets 😅. If your ever in the need for diesel, you could always stop in at a cockys place. They will all have thousands of litres. Mite sell you a tank full. Shame about the mackerel, that was huge! Cheers
Hahaha, I will die of thirst before I die of hunger 🤣🤣 I think the farmers get hammered up this way, each station has a big sign out the front 'NO FUEL'. Would've been great to land a monster fish like that. Thanks mate
Great Video. Hubby and I have just completed a 4 month lap of Aussie and I have a heap of videos from the GoPro Hero 9. I was wondering if you can suggest a good program to use to make into movies. I will be using them for my own use and have no interest in putting them on TH-cam. TIA
Hey guys, great stuff!! imovie or windows movie maker would probably be the best free programs. There is a steep learning curve when it comes to making videos but stick with it, its worth it to look back on the memories 😀

Some eagle eyes out there!! 😉
You can't hide anywhere
Another great video guys. Brad can you please remember to put sunscreen on your lips, zinc would be preferable. Speaking from experience.
Yes I know I'm a shocker! I always try to use a spf lip balm.
What made you choose McGowans over Honeymoon Bay?
We had a bunch of other travellers tell us that they prefer McGowans over Honeymoon. We enjoyed our time at McGowans, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see honeymoon because of the fuel situation, so can't really weigh in on our preference.

Get a water filter. Carry 2 litres each way instead of 4
Good tip! Thanks Howie
