The shower screen is hilarious. In addition to the lock, it's got contact on it to make it look like frosted glass. We've had the owner over a couple of times now because it was leaking and the floor was getting wet. All good now - nice, dry floor on the outside.

I know that everything is crazy now because of the pandemic but is Cambodia generally easier to get a permanent stay visa over Thailand? I am a database engineer and I can work from home now and in the future. I would love to do my existing job but live in Thailand, I would save a ton of money in living expenses. I am finding it difficult to get a permanent stay visa in Thailand if you are under retirement age.
I would say it's easier to stay long term in Cambodia than it is in Thailand. I know some expats moved over here because they became frustrated with the visa situation in Thailand. Also, if you are working online in Thailand and authorities find out, you'd be in breach of the visa conditions and I guess you could be made to pay a big fine and then you'd be made to leave.
It looks like you've done a great job on maximizing the space in your place, which is key for smaller apartments. It saddens me though that you need razor wire and night security. Please stay safe.
Hi Daniel, I really doubt the security guard is needed, it's just a good selling point for the apartments. He also did double duty looking after the grounds and watering the garden every day. It felt very safe there :)
We were paying around $100 (USD). Electricity is pretty hefty and we like the aircon on at night.
