Im so amazed at his presence. He's 21 but he's so polished, he's stage presence is that if someone with decades of experience. Every little movement seems so perfect. In 1956 there wasnt any singers on the planet with half of his charisma. Its crazy that he was doing this in the mid 50s

Wheres the music coming from if not Mimed. Think you will find as with UK Pop Shows. You had to sign an agreement to Mime. Plus ofcourse all songs in Films are pre-recorded incase something happens to Singers Voice during Filming. Prime example was when Edmund Purdom took over from Mario Lanza : He Mimed to Mario Lanzas's pre recordings in Student nPrince....... Only person ever to rebel against it Was Jerry Lee Lewis. He performed SIX times on USA Show refusing to Mime

FYI: He performed in Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens in 1957 when I was a kid and my family were recent newcomers to Canada. He wore his famous gold suit. Whatever a ticket cost, it would have been unthinkable and unaffordable for us. My father made fifty bucks a week as a sweatshop tailor on Spadina Avenue (garment center), -seasonal piecework. I was in the audience when his first film, Love Me Tender played at the Beaver Theatre, -admission fifteen cents. When Elvis appeared on-screen, the whole audience gasped audibly. Off-the-charts charisma!

Let's face it, Elvis was probably the best looking male singer of the 20th century (and 21st). Yes, he had a great voice and charisma by the ton. However, the way he could "work" a song was magic. The Jordanaires were the perfect backup vocals. It is doubtful we will ever see the likes of an Elvis again.

Do they put him on tv all day across the world every year on his birthday and date of his death? No. They do for Elvis. Love Me and Don’t Be Cruel were his two favourites but he always asked me to play Love Me whenever I saw him. I played it for him in the last couple of days leading up to his passing sitting at his bedside. His eyes lit up and he smiled. He always said to me “there’ll never be another Elvis”. "Treat me mean and cruel -- but Love me" still has meaning. "I would beg and steal" -- have not had to go quite that far - but close. Married 50 years in January, 2023. Have been humbled many times over the years. "But love me" - There would be no meaning if ---.

Elvis actually produced and arranged every RCA Victor session he did in the 1950's after the initial Nashville session in 1956. Steve Sholes was a glorified A&R man and got the credit for all of Elvis's production work due to contractual obligations.

During that initial Nashville session Steve Sholes wanted Elvis to record a version of Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" - which had just been released by Sun Records. Folks at RCA wanted to rush out a version by their new artist to "cover" Perkins' record. Elvis refused to record his version at that first session - precisely to ensure that Carl would have the hit with "Blue Suede Shoes." After "Heartbreak Hotel" was released as Elvis' first RCA single, then he recorded his version of Carl's song.
