I do hope there is gonna be more videos relating to this, and if there will be I would suggest one of them being about American/Japanese soldiers decades later still having to fight pockets of resistance from Imperial troops that still refuse to surrender
Nice video about campaign, I guess you are the very first one to recreate the operation in a big scene :D Btw, i think the American should have already learned from the Normandy landing in France and they should better get shields for the landing troop in order to minimize the casualties. That landing took so many troops I think. Looking forward to the next episode, maybe to Osaka then to Tokyo. Keep up!.
ya, the operation for Kanto should be safer, get the shields for the troops before landing and more battleships shooting the Japanese gun holes first to minimize casualties and secure the landing lol.
American bombers would sweep them first then the troops would land In D-Day the bombers missed and kept carpeting the deeper part of the land instead of the bunkers and beaches The generals planned correctly to make less casualties but the bombers mistake cost many lives
3:41 "let's go show those goose stepping sausage eaters what the good ol' U.S.A. can do!". I think the game server had a hiccup since the sausage eaters had unconditionally surrendered on May 7, 1945. But aside from that glitch, this was an awesome video! So much history went into this. What most people didn't know was that after the Emperor surrendered on August 15, renegade troops tried to overthrow the government and keep fighting. Had they succeeded, the invasion of Japan would have gone forward, despite the A-bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. One other point. In 1945 the word "nuke" did not yet exist. A-bomb was the word of the day.
Yes, and part of the plan was mass chemical attacks on the island. We would have killed every living thing there. We'd have had to, because they would have sent kids and grandmas at us, with pointy sticks, if nothing else.
Goose stepping sausage eaters! I've never heard Japanese people referred to like that. That's what one of them guys in the landing craft called it in the video though 🤣🤣👍👍
What really stopped the Japanese in their tracks was that song called Fiatagata Gotcha! by The Moon Roses came on their radios and they were too busy dancing to the song to notice the U.S. ships floating there in front of them, haha 🌙🌹😎
Most of the soldiers who survived D-Day fought in France and Germany and went home, they weren’t sent to the Pacific theater… Also the Marines didn’t fight in France and Germany they mainly fought in the Pacific
Please don't forget that things like this actually happened on Iwo Jima, at least those who actually exchanged lives on the front lines won't be able to enjoy this video.
It's bloody awesome, my one small gripe is that they could've just used a normal Sherman at the part where the first tank engagement was, that Pershing was a little overkill
Something about the Japanese plan to defend the homeland. They knew that there were only two possible landing sites, so they fortified the hell out of those two spots. Basically, they were willing to sacrifice 10 million people, to inflict maximum casualties on the allies. The first line of defence was what remained of their army. The second line consisted of volunteers who were given shoddily made rifles. Hell, even school girls were conscripted to fight. They were given melee weapons, anything to inflict casualties. Some had pikes, others had knifes. Hell, some were given leather Awls. The goal of the defence was to inflict so many casualties upon the allies, that the people at home would call for a peaceful end to the war. Another thing is, America started to produce so many Purple Hearts in anticipation of this invasion, that the Purple Hearts that have been handed out since World War 2, were from that stockpile. It still hasn’t run out. So any Purple Heart that is given out, is most likely from the massive amount created for the invasion.
I think this would be an outstanding science fiction alternate timeline TV series..... Similar, but not the same, as The Man in the High Castle. More action though.
Bro to be honest, this was not that great compared to your Japanese invasion of America video. But as always, the way you make the battle scenes is a work of art.
The Japanese invasion of America had a bit more creative freedom but stating it was better from cinematic, quality, performance, map, and storyline perspective, makes no sense. There's not a thing, that this video doesn't do better
@@warfare11gaming Don't take my comment in a wrong way bro. I am just sharing my personal thought about this video. I had different expectation after watching the previous fictional invasion videos.
Rather intense. But the Americans didn't use their naval gunfire support much. I'd think they would have pounded that beach and behind it for hours. Then send in carrier based fighters and bombers to paste anything I missed. Plenty of defenders were in the open, easily visible. In particular their artillery, which would be my first target. Always get the other guys artillery. Then send in the Marines.
Americans tactics would have large squadrons of heavy bombers carpeting the beach not to repeat the same mistake they did the last time back in D-Day where the bombers missed and targetted the deeper part of the land Airborne would be inserted the night before Navy would be firing their cannons at the coordinates the Airborne troops provided Naval Aviators would be going back and forth bombing and striking emplacements Army would proceed to sweep through
Just for a sense of scale: the War Department ordered so many Purple Hearts be minted for this operation that we have yet to run out of them. _Half a million_ wounded were expected.
Wonder why they didn't consider creating the American foreign legion & recruiting an army from places like china Vietnam & the Philippines to prepare for this
@@SlashinatorZ The US Army wanted Downfall to be as American an operation as possible. They wanted to place Japan under American occupation, not allied occupation like Germany. The British,Australians, Canadians, and Indians, all wanted to larger role in the ground invasion and were prepared to send a Commonwealth Army Group to serve under US command, but MacArthur wouldn't go for it. The plans before the invasion was called off called for a commomwealth Corps made of one Australian division, one British division, and one Canadian division under a British general. The Indians were left off with MacArthr saying there were too many issues coordinating with them. Maybe that would have changed had the invasion actually happened. As it was, the British,Australians, and Canadians were able to contribute their air and naval forces in mass because the US Navy and Army Air Force didnt have the same problems accepting help the way the US Army did.
Not to be a nit picker, nukes did not exist yet. Those two bombs were *Atomic Bombs.* Had they been Nukes, Japan wouldn't exist, nor would the Philippines or anyone in the nearby area. The US, China and Russia would be almost helpless in dealing with nuclear fallout in the jet stream either ^^; AWESOME video!
............. dude ............ Atomic Bombs are *Nuclear Bombs* . What you probably are imagining are Thermonuclear bombs. But they are not that powerful enough to wipe out an entire country, let alone the surrounding countries. That's just an over-exaggeration of what a nuke can do.
@@VaciliNikoMavichin Hiroshima 200,000 died many later from radiation sickness in Nagasaki 150,000 died also many form radiation sickness 350,000 deaths and those aren’t atomic bombs
The biggest thing missing was the intensity of the pre invasion bombardment. The actual bombardment would be according to doctrine two weeks to a month anything in the open would be annihilated. Overall excellent. There's a few minor things wrong but I understand that you don't want to annoy the algorithm. Semper Fidelis

I do hope there is gonna be more videos relating to this, and if there will be I would suggest one of them being about American/Japanese soldiers decades later still having to fight pockets of resistance from Imperial troops that still refuse to surrender
Not a bad idea. I like it. Thanks for your suggestion
Everytime seeing this is always give a huge Goosebumps & terrifying feels
Well, this is a suprise. Good job, I sense a potential series happening with this being its start.
Keep up!.
Yes, also the japan arty should be gone by US airforce before
ya, the operation for Kanto should be safer, get the shields for the troops before landing and more battleships shooting the Japanese gun holes first to minimize casualties and secure the landing lol.
Same thought man! They should have tanks or air crafts to backup their invasion.
American bombers would sweep them first then the troops would land
In D-Day the bombers missed and kept carpeting the deeper part of the land instead of the bunkers and beaches
The generals planned correctly to make less casualties but the bombers mistake cost many lives

Yes
It is

Yeah that line is actually from Company of Heroes 2 I think.

Goose stepping sausage eaters! I've never heard Japanese people referred to like that. That's what one of them guys in the landing craft called it in the video though 🤣🤣👍👍
I love that

Maybe he was one of the European War veterans who didn't earn enough points and got shipped to the Pacific.
What really stopped the Japanese in their tracks was that song called Fiatagata Gotcha! by The Moon Roses came on their radios and they were too busy dancing to the song to notice the U.S. ships floating there in front of them, haha 🌙🌹😎
Love the battle scenes with the setting in the pacific. The closest movie about the invasion of Japan is ‘Letters from Iwo Jima’.
Okinawa and Iwo Jima maybe Sakhalin (the real battles) are THE closest to this proposed invasion
And the reason why the operation didn't get through

It's bloody awesome, my one small gripe is that they could've just used a normal Sherman at the part where the first tank engagement was, that Pershing was a little overkill
maybe this happens on 1946 so many perishing is already mass produce
@@drsm7947 november 1945, then part 2 comes March 1946
Say, they expected to use US "King Tigers" for the invasion in 1946
Pershing tanks were close to entering combat in Okinawa so it would've been very likely to be seen them in that operation
@@warfare11gamingoh, ok then
@@warfare11gaming by X-Day, they would be used, and by 1946, the US Heavy Tanks(T29,T32) would also be used
Something about the Japanese plan to defend the homeland.
Rayos no la vi a tiempo me perdí un joya de video como siempre :'( congrats from Bolivia your channel is one de best on you tube.

Amazing job as always i always enjoy watching these videos especially if im playing a game in the same era as video

Americans tactics would have large squadrons of heavy bombers carpeting the beach not to repeat the same mistake they did the last time back in D-Day where the bombers missed and targetted the deeper part of the land
Airborne would be inserted the night before
Navy would be firing their cannons at the coordinates the Airborne troops provided
Naval Aviators would be going back and forth bombing and striking emplacements
Army would proceed to sweep through
After i found this i found a show on Netflix called THE PACIFIC were its Americans vs Japanese
What a great show The Pacific
Just for a sense of scale: the War Department ordered so many Purple Hearts be minted for this operation that we have yet to run out of them. _Half a million_ wounded were expected.
Wonder why they didn't consider creating the American foreign legion & recruiting an army from places like china Vietnam & the Philippines to prepare for this
@@SlashinatorZ
The US Army wanted Downfall to be as American an operation as possible. They wanted to place Japan under American occupation, not
allied occupation like Germany. The British,Australians, Canadians, and Indians, all wanted to larger role in the ground invasion and were
prepared to send a Commonwealth Army Group to serve under US command, but MacArthur wouldn't go for it. The plans before the
invasion was called off called for a commomwealth Corps made of one Australian division, one British division, and one Canadian division
under a British general. The Indians were left off with MacArthr saying there were too many issues coordinating with them.
Maybe that would have changed had the invasion actually happened. As it was, the British,Australians, and Canadians were able to contribute
their air and naval forces in mass because the US Navy and Army Air Force didnt have the same problems accepting help the way the US Army
did.
@@TheLAGopherThe Russians were also on the verge to invade one of the mainland Japanese island after secured small islands from the north too
Not to be a nit picker, nukes did not exist yet. Those two bombs were *Atomic Bombs.* Had they been Nukes, Japan wouldn't exist, nor would the Philippines or anyone in the nearby area.
The US, China and Russia would be almost helpless in dealing with nuclear fallout in the jet stream either ^^;
AWESOME video!
............. dude ............ Atomic Bombs are *Nuclear Bombs* . What you probably are imagining are Thermonuclear bombs. But they are not that powerful enough to wipe out an entire country, let alone the surrounding countries. That's just an over-exaggeration of what a nuke can do.

The biggest thing missing was the intensity of the pre invasion bombardment. The actual bombardment would be according to doctrine two weeks to a month anything in the open would be annihilated.
