keep in mind, many of them were ordinary men, forced to fight. they were the same as any british or american, they just happened to speak a different language
Yeah there was a difference in attitude between the allies and the germans. The allies soldiers hated germans to their core because of the stories of german brutalities. While in reality most german soldiers are ordinary people just fighting their country just like the allies
@@quintapusyt This is true of many of the standard Wermacht troops, but the same doesn't often apply to the to Waffen-SS troops, who operated separately from the German Heer and were ultra-loyal to Hitler's Nazi fanaticism. The relationship between the standard Wermacht troops and the Waffen-SS troops was a complex one. They engaged in many shared offensives, but there was certainly a degree of competition both overt and unspoken, on several levels between them. Firstly, the SS usually were given priority for re-supply and receiving new weapons (eg. the Tiger tank in the Kursk offensive), and they also frequently acted arrogantly in the utilisation of routes of advance, barging ahead of Wehrmacht forces - such as during the Bulge counter -offensive in Belgium. These factors generated alot of irritation and anger among the Wermacht Officers. The propensity of certain SS units to perpetrate atrocities was also a cause of friction at times, as some Wehrmacht Officers expressly forbade crimes against civilians. On the other hand, civilian mistreatment was also widely pepetrated by the Wehrmacht on the Eastern front particularly, due to the brutal hatred between Germans and Slavic peoples and the higher propensity for atrocities on both sides on the Eastern Front.

And the AA guns at 9:00 are 40mm Bofors, an Allied AA gun model
@@musicalbiohazard3207 not an error.
the 40 bofors was used by all european sides.
the germans captured (poland, france, norway and so on) and listed them as "flak 28".
however they mostly went to the navy.
so they could had have some.
possible but still unlikely that they were there.
@@kleinerfarmer1Hungary made 40mm Bofors and sell them to Germany.
This is just a half of reality. We were two accounts about negotiators: the British POW you mentioned - ‘Stan’ Halliwell of the 1st Parachute Squadron and a German guy. Halliwell was nearly shot when he walks across the bridge and he didn't go back to the Germans. German guy speaks with the head of sappers Eric McKey east of the bridge. It was Mackay who sent the German back genuinely not understanding the German's intentions. The German prisoners captured the day before were giving the British a lot of trouble because of the lack of food. In the classic movie, these two events were combined into one.
@@Exiled_One3548 Thanks.
8:12 The animation of the soldier appears and flinches is very authentic, really cool to have more detail animations.
And at the same time, the PIAT is clipping right into the middle of the soldier
This animation is so good, dude these look so good! The like eye movement is too good, and when they talk it actually looks good, it used to be creepy. But it now everyone is like smooth and crisp. and the guns are so clean
I really like the eye movement work here! It's my favorite part of the detail work in the animation here.
The animations in this one are INSANE, I just remember watching this channel 3 years ago and watching the graphics and talent get even better with the Yarnhub team, Absolutely excellent video Yarnhub!
Don't think you can sneak the Medal of Honor Airborne menu screen opening in there without me noticing! Well played
I kinda not noticed it. Which timestamp?
@@Themultiroleman 0:10 kinda similar I guess?
@@Jasinglismen Also the first 4 second :)
This was an awesome breakdown, great graphics. 👏👏 thank you, yarnhub, for all the hours spent on bringing important historical events to TH-cam fans. Take a bow. P.s at 7:45, the soldier running with his Enfield sounds like he's firing a machine gun. 😂 👉🏽💥
God, the animation is brilliant! Give the animator a raise that graphics is straight out of a movie! Top-class team you've got at Yarnhub. Much love from Bosnia! ❤🇧🇦
13:16 the right German has a arm glitch
The German translation is getting more accurate with every Video you make. Good work
Beautiful rendition. The quality of your videos is getting better every day.
Dude I swear these animations look better every video I´ve been watching for a few years and its improved soooo much
Anthony Hopkins is a fine actor. But, yeah. This kind of made it more real for me. Thank you!
Great job, but there is a wonderful 1977 movie about Operation Market Garden, which is included in the title of this video - "The Bridge too Far" with a bunch of famous actors. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it.
By the way, John Frost is played by Sir Anthony Hopkins in this film.
One of the best WWII films.
@@nikkolodian9517 I agree. But I would also mention "Saving Private Ryan", at least a couple of Soviet films: "Hot Snow" in 1972 and "Battalions ask for fire" in 1985.
@@martinables I agree. But this is generally a feature of feature films, not documentaries, because in a feature film, emotion is more important than fact. And even in documentaries there are inaccuracies. The human factor.
Pas la chance de sauté sur 2 panzer SS
@@nikkolodian9517 Very entertaining, but historically inaccurate. Many veterans apparently urged people to ignore the story in the film.

This is Awesome!!!! God bless these young men who fought for our Freedoms.
For your "freedom"? I´m convinced they would have given a fuck for your freedom. They fought because they were told to and fought for each other. "Your freedom" - for sure - my ass! 🙄
I remember when yarnhub's animation was 2d. and now its ultra realistic, Great job guys! i love watching you guys. Keep spreading these stories out to everyone!

3:25 the car is a Opel Olympia I think. I’m from Germany and my Grandpa told me that back in the day my Grand-Grandparents had such a car and the Soviet’s stole it and dragged it through the village wheels attached ( theft security). After they shoot a giant hole in the Barn-Wall (you can see the hole even today).
Absolutely nice Video 😂😂❤❤❤
Practically every German has a grandparent or great-grandparent who fought in the war. In most of central Texas practically everyone has a German grandparent or great-grandparent lol
I remember watching this channel a year ago. The animation quality has significantly increased, and it looks amazing.
Later the Germans destroyed Arnham bridge. The Belgians later reconstructed the bridge to be an exact replica. I visited this bridge during a WW2 battlefield tour.
Belgians ?? !!!!
It was the Allies that destroyed the bridge, not the germans.
"Although the bridge survived the battle (Battle of Arnhem), it was bombed and destroyed by B-26 Marauders of the 344th Bomb Group on 7 October 1944. It was done to prevent the Germans from using it to send reinforcements south of the river during the German counter offensive against the Allied bridgehead."
My great-grandfather, Fred Leys, was a part of the 82nd Airborne, 307th engineers battalion, died during operation market garden.
What an amazing channel, the true stories and graphics just keep getting better and better 🤩
Knowing that a tank or battle occurred at the particular location makes it feel like your walking through history
Thanks!

My most sincere congratulations Yarnhub, once again you went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. You truly came a very long way from making simple 2D animation to an incredible 3D one and you are without a doubt one of my favourite history channels.
best animated history channel
the way bro side eyed the gun is crazy 2:23
Travel over the bridge near daily! Nowadays named the "John Frost Bridge". Knew the story in parts but great to see it come to life like this.
Animation was incredible this video! Every single upload y’all get better
these videos just keep getting consistency better and better love what you guys are doing
Love the lighting in this one, lighting is everything in animations, you can have a perfect model but if the lighting is off then everything would be ruined. The lighting in this one is perfect and I love it.
'Out of ammo, God save the King" Major Digby Tatham-Warter
We can't just ignore the fact that this guy just casually put out a cinematic masterpiece, like wow this is amazing
What on Earth… These graphics are getting better and better. Great work guys
My grandfather shared just one thing about his army life-that he parachuted into Arnhem. When I was 11, I didn’t fully understand what that meant. It wasn’t until I turned 19 and did some reading that I grasped the gravity of it. No wonder he never spoke about it.
Thank you, Yarnhub, for bringing this powerful war story to life and honoring such an important chapter of history.
I live in Renkum, a small town near Oosterbeek and go to school in Arnhem. I have read so Many books and watched so many films About this and this was the best one
For a second there I thought the US army sponsored their video. 1:48
Best video yet! Love this channel, keep up the great job!
J’adore tes vidéos, tu racontes tellement bien que j’ai l’impression d’y être.
The fact that he able to make blockbuster quality short films within in a month is crazy.

We're reviving A Bridge Too Far with this one boys✨
you know the battle is fierce when they use AA weapons for a ground battle 9:11
In more five videos, this channel gonna be better than pixar
How ....how could you do an ad for AI.... you were the chosen one!
yeah... thats what i thought too
Honestly, this video's animation seemed a little off compared to the usual quality, so it wouldn't surprise me if they used AI to make this video (or parts of it at least).

Another incredible work by Yarnhub. Watching this in 1440p on a Retina Display was mind-blowing. Thank you. Excellent storytelling and totally next-level in every respect.
7:47 is that a lee enfield going full auto 😂
I’m glad someone else saw this, the animation quality is good but at some parts it feels like they used AI to speed up the process
0:56 The sentence "it never snows in september " is a a reference to a great book with the same title by Robert Kershaw. It describes Market Garden from the German point of view. A must read for anyone interested in Market Garden. The sentence is from a German soldier who watches the paratrooper landings from far away. He is surprised as to what he is seeing and actually thinks the parachutes are snowflakes first but he then remembers that it never snows in september.
The guy in the video saying this looks and sounds like montana black imop😂
Your story telling is something else man!
BRO!! This animation is getting better and better by every upload!!
the animation just keeps getting better and better
I love this channel! Oh, how I wish the other excellent channels telling and retelling of historically accurate events, both military and otherwise, had this same great realistic production value! I always look forward to every one of your releases!
The animation is getting so good
I swear these animations keep on getting better and better, this topic is one I have wanted to see for a while now on this channel to thank you for making this!

The Wife surprised me with the Ambrose Historical Tours, Band of Brothers tour in 2019. Arnhem was part of the tour and we ended up having lunch in Oosterbeek. It is so beautiful there. Seeing it now, it's really is hard to believe those streets saw such vicious fighting and so many young lost their lives there. Thanks for another outstanding video!
Im not the first one to say this, i probably won't be the last, but holy crap the animation just keeps getting better and better!
"A bridge too far", my favorite war movie !
In just one word to describe this video.. Exhilarating! The battle scenes are just next level
Frost: "We'll be at Berlin by Christmas"
Private: This year right?
Frost: ... ;)
Private: This YEAR right?!
This is just better than disney or dreamworks animation at this point
This was beautifully told. The channel continues to deliver magical narration and storyteling. It always is a true pleasure to watch these videos. The braveness of those paratroopers should never go silently but should always be remembered, it was just an amazing feat of bravery, resilience and grit!
Hands down, the best channel on YT today.
Love the work guys! Your animation has changed soooo much from when I started watching, around 3 years ago I think! It's great to see how much your skills have changed but how your detailed story telling remains. Well done guys!
11:15 bro woke up and chose violence
I saw the surrender scene and it immediately reminded me of the same scene in the movie, amazing video as usual😄
The Germans literally let said "GG" and saluted them for fighting valiantly.
Incredible production quality, thank you!
Browning: They've got bed for you upstairs if you want it.
Urquhart: I took ten thousand men into Arnhem. I've come out with less than two. I don't feel much like sleeping.
Browning: Quite. I've just been on to Monty. He's very proud and pleased.
Urquhart: Pleased?
Browning: Of course. He thinks Market Garden was 90% successful.
Urquhart: But what do you think?
Browning: Well, as you know, I always felt we tried to go a bridge too far.
I visited Arnham and saw this bridge the the memorials close by first hand. Did as much reading on the subject as I could at the time, but thanks so much for helping to bring it to life.
Wow your animations have come such a long way!
