Diddy Kong Racing Beta / Debug Track Options

This is the second part of the Beta Level options video I posted earlier. It show's extra options the programmer's used to access the boss scene's, character test menu, Horseshoe Gulch, and cut-scene's.

The reason why the intro, in the track selection menu, is named "RC CAR SEQUENCE", is because...well, you'll have to hear a bit of backstory...
Back when Rare didn't make DKC, they had a little racing series, named "R.C. Pro Am". DKR was originally going to be an N64 version of the "R.C." game series.

What you described is the exact definition of a Scene/Warp modifier. Seriously, I would know if this was in any way related to that.
This is NOT a scene modifier. Also, what you mentioned would be pretty hard to do by changing a single address...

Also forgot to mention. This is not a scene/warp modifier. It only modifies the TRACK OPTIONS. Therefore, all of these were selectable as tracks, and some were most likely debug.

1) No I'm not. This isn't a scene/warp modifier. It's one simple code that is ONLY used by the track menu. Each code represents a slot in the Track menu, and each value for that code represents a track that was loaded into that slot. Therefore, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that these extra options were accessible from the Track menu and not somewhere else.
2) Basically what I said above.
3) I never claimed this was a beta menu. I said the extra options were...

2 options:
1st. You are just linking the actual game tracks and scene seletions to a place where you can select them. Lets put this way, like having a lot of scenes in a dvd and you have linked them thru' a menu.
2nd. Could be for beta testing, but i think there would be a different menu for that. Not the same as track seletion.
Have you ever seen goldeneye beta menu? That is what I think is a beta menu.

V1.1 is a later compilation of the game in which they probably removed a few bugs and such. As a result, much of the items have different locations in RAM.

These were beta selectable tracks that only the developers could use. You can actually look in memory and see all the tracks that were available in memory. Your saying Character Select Test had nothing to do with a debug option?

Ill try to explain better. I think what you did works like this: When you start the game the following command is send, for example: "play scene 1"
after selecting "start" it send the command "play scene 2".
Now when you hacked it you have just linked some tracks, in that menu, to "play scene 1" and "play scene 2" commands. know what i mean?

This is not a debug. You have only changed the links for the track selection menu. You could link it to any part of the game you want.
