Trading hits with Rathalos was a calculated risk. Whether I get hit or not didn't really matter in most of these instances since there was no opening to exploit anyway, the reward I'd gotten was much bigger than the risk I had taken by letting him hit me. It doesn't look very graceful but sadly is more effective than avoiding his attacks and waiting for a safe opening when you try to speedrun Rathalos without flash bombs.
CantaPerMe I see, i thought you were calculating the damages like most japanese did with their vids of carefully well timed and accurate hits on monster to knock them off the air, or other animations In fun hunts I get them quite often (knocking monsters off the air, tripping them while attacking) because I just charge head-on into the monsters, but my potions are always low as I was mostly hit because i'm too reckless, it's just for fun anyways as long as I don't die lol I only get patient enough in a set stage or when I can be OHK'ed btw, do you mind if I can ask how did you record all of these? The first dunk on Rathalos was calculated btw, there was a reason why I stopped going for the head and charged by attacking the legs at the beginning of the hunt :p But as I said earlier, you can't be picky with openings against Rathalos when you don't use flash bombs so I had to improvise after the first KO.
is there any pattern to the monsters' move sequence or you just take it on chance? i noticed that you freely hit Rath's head and it didn't insta-ram you. also when you brought it down mid-flight

Canta, I don't know if this has been asked already but, isn't playing around GPs not worth anymore? I noticed you have HGE in your set which makes me think GPing monsters' shouts isn't that worth, I guess?
If you want to do speedruns, then yeah, Striker CB is the way to go because of the higher damage boost in axe mode. The other styles can perform well in the right hands as well tho so not going striker is nothing that will break your hunt in a casual environment
Certain moves have a guard point at the start or end of their animation which you can tell by a brief flash (example 0:26). Examples for that are switching from sword mode into axe mode or after a round slash in sword mode.
regarding the damage boost on CB, only novice is worth and its just a bonus atk skill, if u can take it while having all the ones u need, totally worth
gotta respect yan garuga animation canceling skills.... cancels the charge in order to insta tail swipe the living hell out of you... my hat is off to his annoying arse.

Yes,adept might have adept guards and adept dodges but sometimes,there are animations where you can't insta adept dodge the incoming attack therefore Absolute readiness is there to help you + With weapon unsheathed to keep on the fight. p.s. free Dodge+Half whetstone Hunter Art.

blast damage helps a lot in multi monster quests where each monster has very little HP

Yeah, I had my 3DS modded to record videos. There's another way to record videos now but you need a hacked N3DS for it.

the sole reason why I had earplugs was to deal with Rathalos since you will get a knockback if you try to gp the roar without shield buff.

After checking all your hunts posted on youtube I came with this conclusion : the only charge blade in this game is Striker (correct me if i'm wrong)

Hassan Shaikh well the other charge blade arts suck. I just stick with readiness since it helps me stay in white with a hellblade weapon.
