I'm a big fan of wasim and waqar but reverse swing is completely depends on the ball rather on the bowler. U can't bowl reverse swing with new ball because it's impossible. Even u and I can bowl reverse swing with the same ball. But yes the effectiveness of the swing depends on the bowler. Reverse swing is the easy part. Wasim akram and waqar Younis were so deadly because they can bowl at 150 km per hr and they have fast arm action and have action to hide the ball. That's batsman got no idea about how the ball will swing.

Rever swing is an art I learnt it by bowling alone to a wall no stumps no batsman...thanks to my coach gave me hint ...so I could experiment the reverswing Inswing outswing and I perfected the reverswing. Thanks to my inspiration waqar younis. You just need passion practice and and practice aily for hours till you succeed

Hadllee in his book said that Imran was a genuine pace bowler who was a master of swing, especially with the old ball... his words , not mine.
In 1993 when Pak went to NZ , the newspapers said that any camera man who could catch Pak bowlers tampering will be given price money .... Pak was bowled out at like 200 or so..... Wasim and Waqar bowled NZ out at like 150... 5 wickets each.... watch that spell and you can appreciate what movement of ball is ......
Darren Gough the English reverse swinger of the ball has said that he was so impressed by wasim and waqar that he used to carry two OLD balls around and JUST bowl with them... that is what happens on Pakistani conditions, the ball gets roughed up very quickly , you cant bowl with old ball, you cant ball in Pakistan

Mr Lallantop must correct his perspective. From my little experience with bowling, I can say with grit that the foundation of reverse swing is not roughing up one side of the ball. It's just the other way round i.e. maintaining one side of the ball. I believe anyone on this earth would agree with the fact that with every passing over, the shine and texture of the ball gets altered. However, the masters would always, of course with the help of fielders, make endeavours to keep one side shinier and more intact than the other with a few simple measures. Firstly, after 5-6 overs, when we get to see whether which side of the cherry has more shine, the whole fielding unit is apprised about it. Secondly, when the side to be maintained is decided, the fielders' job is to rub it either on their jerseys or their hands with saliva or sweat everytime they get the ball in their hands. Thirdly, throws from the outfield are made aerial to protect the shinier side from hitting the ground. When all this happens as planned, the maintained side retains or gains more weight whereas the roughened side loses some because of lost polish, leather pieces and dryness. So, at the end, simple physics comes into play i.e. the ball starts inclining more towards the heavier side i.e the shinier one. Infact, it becomes more pronounced with the ball getting closer to the pitch at high speeds as earth's gravity shows its maximum effect there.
Well, this the theoretical aspect of the art that of course, requires rare great talent to execute.
Even if one believes in the allegations made by the English and Mr Lallantop, of course, there is something highly questionable. When, in 1992, after the news of cheating was floated all around the globe, the tricks of the cheat art apparently became known to others. So, why couldn't other nations and specifically England produce a bowler who was as good as the 2Ws or IK or Sarfaraz Nawaz ? It was again Pakistan on top of it with their assembly line producing genuine quickies like Mohd Zahid, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohd Sami, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Wajab Riaz, Mohd Irfan, Junaid Khan, Mohd Aamir, Shaheen Shah Afridi and a few unnoticed others. In fact, many of us might not have heard the name of Mohd Zahid. He was easily 3-4 yards pacier than Shoaib Akhtar but lost his zing due to a serious back injury. The funny part is that Shahid Afridi could bowl leg spin with the same short run up at 123 kph which is more than the avge speed of a medium pace bowler. Actually, when things become hard to digest they get vomitted out with a lot of stink. That is what is happening here.
It takes a big heart to be a genuine fast bowler. You can't be conservative or over miserly if you want to be a genuine lethal pacer. Pakistan always encourages bowlers in their initial days to work on their natural ability of pace without paying much attention to line and length. Other crafts are acquired through practice at developmental stages. Whereas, in India the scenario is unfortunately just the reverse. Right from the first day, you are told that you shouldn't waste energy in pursuit of speed. Line and length are more important, bla bla. This is the reason why Pakistan has, traditionally, been the breeding ground of the epitomes of genuine ferasome fast bowling. A fast bowler must possess a killer instinct that gives him an edge in addition to the skills. India, in the recent past, has been producing some craftly bowlers like Bhuvi, Nehra, ZAK, Pathan and Bhumrah. However, they couldn't become as great as their Pakistani counterparts for the reason that they were unable to instill fear in the batsmen facing them. Intimidation is an essential part of fast bowling. For the last two decades or so, India has produced the greatest intimidating batsmen in the form of Sehwag, Yuvraj, Raina, Uthappa, Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, MSD and above all Kohli. More or at least the same killer instinct was supposed to be ingrained among the Pacers, as well. But alas ! The prevalent training mindset in India has not helped much.
