I’ll be honest, my only exposure to Spider-Man cartoons was the MTV series but I love the fact that there were many animated series for every generation.
For me it was that but it was also the 94’ animated series. That would always be on jetix on Saturday mornings.

I'm so glad you got around to mentioning Spidey and his amazing Friends. Spider-Man is my favorite character of all time and I have so many figures and comics and other stuff and my daughter always loved looking at them so we introduced her to the show and it's one of her favorite shows. We also got her these figures and she has so much fun playing with them.
I love stories like this! I got my kids the old playskool Spidey’s back in the early 2000’s - so many great memories!

Marvel legends also made an ultimate spidey that was packed in with the vulture. He (vulture) had two sculpts, one for the ultimate comic design, and another for the animated look. They’re by default the best figures from that show cus they’re the only ones not strictly aimed for kids

My favorite spider-man toy lines are always the tobey ones from 1 and 2, the classics ones with mark bagley art style on it, also the ones with scott johnson art style as well all made by toy biz.

I miss Toy Biz so much. It's a shame, they really doing some inventive stuff in 06-07 when Hasbro took over.
Quick story time: I was 12 in 94, so I was precisely the right age for the Animated Series. When I found out they made a symbiote suit figure, I called my mom at work and begged her to take me to Toys R Us when she got off. God rest her soul, after being up since 4am, she took me up there as soon as she got home. I found my big chest Spidey and went home appreciative, of course, and happy. Thanks, mom. ❤

I gotta say, Your Friendly Neighborhood’s animation takes some time to get used to. But, despite not much of the show being out yet, I can confidently say it’s worth a watch. They take plenty of liberties, but even so, the show is written very well. Excited to see where they take it

You’re normally spot on but I have to make a correction of the X-Men’s first animated appearance. Their first appearance was in the Marvel Superhero cartoon from the 1960’s where Doom was the villain of the episode and it was the original X-Men team

They were also renamed Allies for Peace in that show.
Yes, they were in the Sub-Mariner episode entitled "Dr. Doom's Day", but I don't think that the X-Men specifically were named the Allies for Peace. The cartoon episode is actually a modification of Fantastic Four Annual #3, the wedding of Reed and Sue. The cartoon is not about the wedding. In the comic, it opens with Dr. Doom holding a newspaper that reads "TODAY'S THE DAY: WEDDING BELLS FOR REED AND SUE". But in the cartoon, the headline of the newspaper reads "ALLIES FOR PEACE... TO DEDICATE NEW PEACE BUILDING" (I thini that refers to all the heroes, not just the X-Men...?) If you remember that issue, nearly every Marvel hero is at the wedding and Dr. Doom uses a "high-frequency emotion charger" to cause all villains at the time to attack the wedding. Bottom line, essentially every Marvel character (at the time) was in that comic. Thus, there are many cameos in this cartoon as well.. Alas, they chose to leave out Spider-Man. And another glaring different is that, in the comic, Hydra goons are driving a flatbed truck carrying a huge bomb straight for the wedding, and it is stopped by Daredevil. DD is also not in the cartoon. The truck is stopped by the X-Men's Angel. Last, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby are turned away at the door of the wedding in the comic. They don't appear in the cartoon (unfortunately!). Anyway, I LOVE your channel!!!!

It should be noted that Ultimate Spider-Man didn't run from 2012-2020, it ran until early 2017 and later that year was replaced by Marvel's Spider-Man, which was its own show in its own universe and that ran from 2017-2020.

The sheer INSANITY of a "NO PUNCHING" restriction on the 90s animated Spider Man series sounds so RIDICULOUS .. obviously kids watching it would either have read the Amazing Spider Man comics..or would be inspired by the series to read them...& they would see about 200 punches per page!
It's crazy to think that they thought that seeing Spidy punching a villian might either TRAUMATIZE kids..or maybe make them punch EACH OTHER is so LAUGHABLE here in 2025!
Almost forgot to mention that Morbius wasn't allowed to suck blood using his fangs..& had to use his hands!!
As bizarre as all this seems...it definitely makes me nostalgic for my own misbegotten youth!

I watched a bunch of these as a kid. I saw the 90’s cartoon, amazing friends, and Unlimited through reruns, I watched the MTV show on dvd (I was definitely too young for it), and was in the exact right age group for Spectacular and Ultimate, even if I only actually liked one of them. I wish I could say I like the new show, but it just ain’t doing it for me, but it’s still got 8 episodes left to win me over

Man I'm so happy that they finally made a new unlimited spidey figure..all it needs is the heavy shading and it would be perfect, with hasbro making action figures based on the 90s series as well as spider-man unlimited i hope they make figures based on spider-man: the new animated series and spectacular spider-man.

I grew up with 4 different Spider-Man cartoons. The first one in release order was the 90s Spider-Man, because I bought the venom saga dvd which I still have, and that was amazing. And then my second one was the mtv show which I also was exposed for from the DVDs, and it was pretty great, I remember loving the ark that the lizard went through and the design, too bad the figure is expensive 😢. And then I also grew up with spectacular Spider-Man since I was a 2000s baby, so I grew up with for a little bit, but since I was only 2 and 3 years old when I came out it didn’t last all that long. So I primarily grew up with ultimate Spider-Man which I really liked and as far as I know still like. I mean yes there was a crossover with the sitcom Jessie. But that was perfect for me, I loved Jessie, and I reallly really loved Spider-Man, so those two made sense to me personally. And then after ultimate Spider-Man I kinda step away from Spider-Man in cartoons. But hopefully after me and my dad are done with our MCU expanded universe marathon we can watch the new cartoon. And what I mean by MCU expanded universe is everything from the multiverse that I can find. Like across the Spiderverse makes a reference to no way home, so I count that as cannon, and obviously across the Spiderverse makes tons of references to other spider men and women, so that means that to me 67 Spider-Man is cannon, 90s Spider-Man is cannon, and that 90s Spider-Man had other shows at the time connected to it, so those are cannon. And it might be flawed since marvel said that only the x men and the Spider-Man shows are connected but to me fantastic four, silver surfer, Spider-Man unlimited, hulk are all cannon to x men and Spider-Man the animated series. So yeah basically what I meant to say after all that is that after we’re done with that, I would like to watch this new Spidey cartoon with him

I stand by this, Spider-Man Unlimited should've gotten a second season. Was it _completely bonkers insane?_ Absolutely. But, I thought it was legitimately written pretty well. Besides, these are comic book characters. I love it when these stories branch out and do weird things.

I actually bought that same model for the Spectacular Spider-Man head. The listing didnt show any pics from the side or back which I didn't think much of until I got it and looked at it. From the side he has a weird chimpanzee muzzle and from the back all the weblines converge to a single point like on the front making it look like he's got another face back there. You would think that someone trying to model him in 3d would look up the cartoon's character sheet to try and see him from all angles. Clearly this person was just guessing for most of it. I was so dissappointed that I actually learned blender just to model my own. I can say with confidence that mine's leagues better.

haven't watched the new cartoon, the animation style looks weird, it looks like some years behind what in comparison some anime do with 3d animation f.e. Trigun Stampede or Beastars. I watched the Spider-Man TAS and Spectecular Spider-Man some years ago for the first time because they were recommended by some youtubers who made a video essay about the Venom saga. I really was surprised how good Spider-Man TAS was and how many great local (german) VAs it had, most of them I knew from Darkwing Duck or One Piece. Haven't watched the cartoons from the 70s and 80s, to old for me.
The animation takes about 2 seconds to get used to, then it is really remarkable!

I'm kinda disappointed on that unlimited figure. It's the first one ever but I feel like the paint scheme is really plain. A metallic blue, yellow eyes and the black shadow on the face would have gone a long way. I also just think that design specifically would look a lot better in general on the thinner Mafex body. Regardless, it's dope to finally have a figure of one of my top 5 suits.
Will be interesting to see if MAFEX makes one - they do tend to follow Hasbros lead

I have a Spidey and His amazing friends but it's not from Hasbro it's from Blokees it's a very poseable action figure that your supposed to build yourself, and it's very accurate to the show I only got the Peter Parker one, there's a lot of characters to choose from

Imma be honest my introduction to spidey cartoons were spectacular spidey. My fav show. But the new show isn't half bad. I can't believe they discontinued it. I heard there making a Tobey maguire spider man 4. Now I feel bad saying this but I would rather the continuing of spectacular spider man.

4. Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it's kind of too long and I wish Hasbro releases fresh new action figures based on this beloved and comic accurate cartoon
5. Marvel Rivals
6. The Ultimate Alliance games, man I wish there was a third one or new spin-offs
7. Marvel vs Capcom, I hope they partner with Jada Toys who are doing Street Fighters and Mega Man, Storm Collectibles who also did Street Fighters but also Devil May Cry and Dark Stalkers because it's been long overdue and it's also been a really long time since we got those based on Clash of The Superheroes and that was so long
7. The Lavar universe, we only got Spider-Ham but I need some Iron Mouse, Throg, Captain Americat and so many more

Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has been awful. In no way does it honor the story or the characters lol
We are just gonna disagree on this. I don’t want the same story regurgitated over and over - if they can bring new things while staying true to the core of the characters, I’m intrigued!
First
As a 48 year old Ginger, Marvel has replaced ALL of the representation of inclusiveness for people like me. No longer is Daredevil a redhead, and all of Spider-man's supporting redheads have been raced swapped. Nevermind, Peter is no longer being burdened with the death of his Uncle Ben, which happened prior the events of the spider bite in this version. This series is no more than a "What If.." and doesn't remotely feel like OG Spider-Man. The gender swapped Dr Conners will be involved in a lizard accident, but this time it won't be due to hubris. It will be the result of something outside of her making. I can already call it. It definitely feels like it was written at the height of the woke hysteria.
While I do agree with you on Dr. Connors, I disagree about the series itself. It is a great show so far, and I loved the inclusion of characters like Nico Minoru and Lonnie Lincoln (aka Tombstone) instead of the usual friend group.
And you are completely wrong about redgead representation in comics, they are EVERYWHERE. From MJ to Rorscharch, there are a ton of redbead comic book characters and the fact that they switched Harry/Norman for once is not that bad.

my take is that we have seen the original story told numerous times. I’m ok with keeping the core characteristics and telling new stories.
