Hi Anthony, it's at this stage I start adding the tomato fruit bags to the whole cluster for Fruit fly protection. When you fit the bags, you need to fluff them out so the tomatoes are not touching the side otherwise the female fruit fly can still lay her eggs through the bags. Cheers mate, keep up the good work.
Thanks yeah I have thought about tomato bags but I tend to plant a lot of tomatoes so I won’t have enough to cover all the fruit. Planting early works well for me at this stage. I got most of my tomatoes harvested and I am about to pull them out as the spider mites have taken hold of them.
Thank you for teaching how to prune tomatoes, I’ve only ever used one main stem. But from now on I’ll definitely being doing two or more leaders. Iam up on the central coast so not to far away from you.
Yeah I tend to prune to 4 leaders but I will grow more out as they get larger. For home growers it’s helps to get a larger over all crop. Hope your summer garden is doing well
Wow just found your channel, I’m also in Sydney, and a bit of a novice I should have listened to my Mother more, are there any Beans I could plant now or is it to late in the season?
Hi we have really just started the season for beans. I grow bush bean varieties but you can plant climbing beans from now to at least the start of January. For bush beans I plant my last planting in early March. There is still plenty of time for you to get a crop in 👍
I just love pruning, and you can clearly see how it opens everything up and promotes good air flow. Nice work, thank you 🙏🏽🌱🍅
Thanks Sharon. I have another pruning video where I prune more mature tomatoes hope they help
I'm sure the plants will do well and thanks for the tips. 🍅🍅🍅
Thanks for the support. Appreciate it.
