Thanks for watching and the support 👍 yeah I was the same watching videos from overseas and decided that if I wanted some local content I’m going to need to make it myself 😀
Glad it comes across well. I will do more videos later on how to prune as the plants get bigger. This was the first initial prune only. The technique changes a bit as the plants get bigger
Hi Anthony, that's a different way to stake your tomatoes. I have always used the tradition method of only having one leader. I often thought of espaliering them but never had the time. Maybe next year when I retire but I see merit in your method. I also use bedsheet as ties and yes, they work well. Cheers.
I see a lot of people prune to one leader but I feel you are sacrificing the overall size of harvest for larger fruit. Backyard growers like us could find a happy medium where we can have at least 3 leaders to keep the plant manageable While getting a decent harvest still. It’s all trial and error
Oh I would love to not have to worry about fruit fly until January. We are already getting them 😢 I’m netting everything. Even the blueberries have to be netted now
Do the fruit flies drop off in the cooler months where you are or is it just a wet season issue? Last year they were really bad for me they got to my jalapeños and capsciums as well as tomatoes. I essentially have 2 plantings one early season and one late season so I can get around the fruit flies
Mate these are classic issues when I am filming. Neighbourhood noises are a part of it 😀and my new camera picks up every sound in the joint! I don’t know how everyone else in TH-cam land does it will no background noise! 😀
Great so see a local gardening TH-camr! Most that I watch are from overseas. 👍

Your tomatoes look so green lush & healthy. Thankyou for sharing your techniques. Wishing you a positive growing season.
Thanks you! All the best in your patch 👍
Thanks for taking the time to explain, it makes it simple for me. 👍
