Shrug, I am not as negative on this device as so many seem to be. I am hopeful (very hopeful) for some good driver updates. But regardless, I just think this is the most innovative form factor I've seen out of the handheld market yet. NOTHING else can truly fit as a handheld, a tablet, a laptop, and even a big screen gaming TV if you get the egpu. I got the 32gb + 2tb + egpu preorder and call me crazy but I'm keeping it.....
It's definitely has sparks of greatness. I'm just not sure about the gaming side of the 3in1 triangle. It has to get SO MUCH better that I'm not sure is possible with this current processor. I call it a 2.4-in-1 until the gaming side improves drastically. But for someone who does less gaming than productivity it could be perfectly
Good unboxing and first initial impressions with the X1. It's too bad One-Netbook went with the Intel Ultra Core CPU, I will wait until they release the AMD 8840 version because they have to know that gamers want a better experience with their handhelds. In a future video, please test out high demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead 2, or Baldur's Gate 3 if you can. Thanks!
If it had 8840u it would take the crown. This Intel Ultra 7 is garbage. Every time I download a game I feel like I'm wasting time and storage. 🤦🏽♂️😅 Hopefully we see some amazing updates, but I'm doubtful considering Intel's track record
It depends, for me is perfect, i was looking for Intel so i can have productivity AND game with it and the onexgpu i ordered with it. So i perder the Intel chip that works better with productivity apps than AMD.
Legion go wins in the gaming category. X1 is better as a laptop and tablet replacement. Strictly as a handheld the Go wins imo. I don’t even use my Legion Go much, but I’d recommend over the X1 to most people right now

Finally seeing a video with the real controllers, I noticed something concerning. Can you use the USB-C on the left when in handheld mode with the controllers connected? Or at least the top 1? It looks really tight. If you can't at least access the top slot then you couldn't charge while you play in handheld..... Seems like someone with very large fingers may struggle with this when using the left shoulder button??
Seems cool bit looks goofy ... a gpd max 2 has a built in controller on top of the keybord . And the keyboard is backlit . Good review though really in depth
My favorite handheld so far is the Ayaneo Kun and I mostly play it full 1600p sitting down with thunderbolt 4 and a device like this could be king of the sit-down handheld with a superior processor, tablet like sensibilities, and most importantly Oculink and a large display. My perfect handheld would be a Kun like device but with Oculink but a perfect sit down and travel multimedia device might be something like this.
Got mine yesterday. It did decently with the gaming I played. Cyberpunk and AC Mirage ran better than I expected after making some adjustments. Ran them plugged in at 36 watts.
Decent is bad because it’s much worse than the AMD handhelds. I understand it’s not just for gaming which is great, but it’s not great at gaming considering what’s available.
@@BarelyAverageDudeI don’t have experience with the AMD handhelds. I need to use it for more than just gaming though which is why the form factor and screen appealed to me and why I didn’t go with the others. Hopefully the drivers mature more. Gamers Nexus did a video on Intel Arc with their driver updates and it was a huge improvement and there is probably more improvements needed from a driver side. So, we’ll see if it gets better, which I hope it does.

The chipset is more powerful than the Surface and aside from maybe the ROG Flow, which is a lot more expensive, this is the best bang for the buck there. Agreed. I hope they can make some improvements in gaming, but I have had fun so far gaming on it.

@@BarelyAverageDude I hear ya. 😮💨 Truly an unfortunate situation, I had been looking forward to the x1 for a while, I have the rog z13 and I just really like the whole 3 in 1 form factor. I'm also looking at the Minisforum V3 for that very reason, which actually is an AMD device, but I really liked the option of being able to slap a couple controllers on the sides which isn't baked into the V3, and it's a lil too big for any of those telescopic extending controllers since it's like 14 inches
Love this and going to pre order now 🔥 got an Alien ware gaming laptop and a steam deck at the moment and always wanted something in between. Steam deck not powerful enough as a handheld and Alienware laptop is too powerful and bulky for the games I play. This baby is perfect!!!
Admitedly smaller screen, but I feel the Legion Go does the job better, just with an added bluetooth mechanical keyboard, and all for 60% of the price. Good review though.
The Legion go definitely has better performance right now, and I think to some extent it is a better handheld; but I disagree that the Legion go is better as a tablet and a laptop replacement. And thank you 👍🏾
@@BarelyAverageDude I assume that's from trying to use it with Windows? Windows does not do tablet or touch very well, and the options to change how things work and look are limited at best. I'd say try Linux, it can be tweaked easily to fit most workflows. Gnome is generally considered the best Desktop Environment for touch, but KDE can be moulded in to different forms.

Yes the Legion Go is cheaper, but I wouldn’t want to replace my Laptop and tablet with it. The x1 is better in that regard.

I'd like to see a comparison on the battery lives, though I think the Steam Deck OLED would win that one handedly. As for webcams, as someone famous once said 'I have the perfect face for radio'.

Honestly, I am not really enjoying the OXP X1, as it is too heavy to be played as a handheld, better to play it with the tablet stand. Not amazed by it's graphic performance as compared to my Aokzoe A1 Pro and AYN Odin 2. OXP also forgot to ship my controller connector. Not to mention, the carrying case is crap, it can only fit and tablet and nothing else - do the folks at OXP feels that people do not need to carry the controllers and charger on the go? Lastly, i guess i just have to psycho myself that i have bought a MS Surface Pro wannabe with a poor quality keyboard and Oculink port. The keyboard hasn't improve much from my OXP 1S bought a few years ago.

The ports do both support display out and data so they are not just for charging, but I am also not able to get my ex real AR glasses working. I tested a USB-C display and that works fine and the glass is even show up in the display settings as a second display but no image is being sent to the actual glasses. What glasses do you have and are they showing up in the display settings?

Have you found any controllers that can wrap around or connect via bluetooth to ROG zFlow to turn it into a handheld like the x1. I have seen people use the Gamesir Galilieo G8 but stretching the springs like that is not my cup of tea.
Search for "BSP D9 controller", it's a Bluetooth controller for mobile devices that is wide enough to accommodate most tablets. It has hall-effect triggers and sticks. I ordered one myself, but haven't received it yet, but it's supposed to be pretty good, and not very expensive.

I'm trying to figure out what deal did these companies receive to go with Intel over AMD? It almost feels like these companies are intentionally sabotaging themselves by releasing more expensive, yet less powerful handhelds.
Idk how much Intel paid them or if they got the chips for free, but it’s a fail all around. I’m just a barely average dude, so I bought this with my own money; I would not recommend it to anyone but my worse enemy: The devil.

Their handhelds used to be AMD at least as I've had a OnexPlayer 5800u handheld for a while now. I've noticed that they like to swap between the brands and maybe Intel is easier to get in the slimmer form factor like a tablet?

Good eye. The top port is completely clear but you can really use the bottom port when the controller is on.

It's not really smart; it's an NFC ring that I use as the key for my electric scooter.

Most AR Glases Connect using USB C so yeah it has 2 ports that support display out over USB C

If you're planning to use the EGPU than you don't need to worry about the internal GPU.
