- Did Ducati make a mistake by putting the doublesided Swingarm on the road going variant of the V4? should it be reserved for the upcoming V4R?

Ducati hangs on to nonsense like Desmo valves, single sided swingarms, 90 degree twins etc. They stepped away from twins (but are keeping the twin firing order for tradition), removed the trellis frame, Desmo valves in the touring V4 and now they are moving away from the single sided swingarms. Who knows, maybe theyâll make an inline 4 one day
No way they will go inline 4.. as it is a step back
But a single side arm just looks so much better
It does for sure
As a street rider that 99% of these bikes are going toâĶ the single sides swing arm is just fine for performance. Do whatever you want to your WSBK bikes Ducati but keep making works of Art for the street.
I really like it. The design of the swingarm is different than what others are doing.
Also the front. Looks like a Japanese bike. They are going to sell because itâs Ducati. They have the best bikes. But gone is the most unique and beautiful design
It does not matter how stiff the swing arm is. Not many people are buying them for the race track.
The market will decide. Remember the 999?
Or lack of stiffness... it's less stiff. But there were factors that played into the 999 but just the Swingarm, the market changed during its release.
Yes the market did change once the masses rejected it.
Yes it's now grown into its face.
As I said, the market will dictate the out come.
Personaly as a 30 year ducatista, I quite like it
Your Yamaha shirt proves that you donât notice the R1 as much because the exhaust is 7 ft long and covers it ð but good little video man! Honestly the body colored wings I think are worse! If they want to try to hide them by putting the same color paint, they should have just done Army camouflage ð
That's a yamaha champion riders school shirt my friend. Training I've done with them, which I did on an Aprilia ðĪŠ So the configurer you can see what the carbon wings look like...I don't actually like the way the color gets split upðģ
"Its hurts your sole to not have double sided swingarm"?? It has a double sided swing arm...You mean not have single sided swing arm??
Yup, I miss spoke, it happens ð
2015 899 Panigale had the double sided swing arm.
As did the 959, looking more at the "flagship" bikes.
The 999 also
Do you think Ducati is trying to make more reliable bikes because I know serval Ducati owners and a TH-camr thatâs had those bearing go bad , Iâm sure it gonna be better and I happen to like the double honestly looks good if it was ugly then Iâd be mad .
Any manufacturer wants to have to most reliable machine. Ducati's that I've had over the past 10 years have been great with zero issues. I think they had a massive gap from bmw with the v4r. Now bmw figured some things out and Ducati needed to pivot. There's stories of it being a cost thing like the sssa costs more to manufacture so maybe that also plays a part.
Yep. I donât care if they even said they just learned all single swing arms are going to fall off, Iâll still take my chances. On my 899 years ago I did the 1199 single arm conversion. The guy who bought it from me, we became friends and it hasnât fallen off yet!

Ducati has always shown that they're willing to let go of "tradition" , for the sake of evolution/performance.
2 valves, bevel head, V twin, etc.
Mic quality sucks
It donât look good period.
