I tend to agree. Music of that era was awesome in my opinion. There have been some amazing artists since then, but I keep going back to the originals of the 60s and 70s.
"More Than A Feeling" is one of the most perfectly written songs, ever recorded. It is beautiful, complex, uplifting, and unique. This will lead to another rabbit hole!
Foreigner has to be done as well. It feels like the first time & Jukebox hero, too! Throw in some Loverboy and April Wine! Oh yeah! Old school baby!😍〽️
Yes it was one of best album in rock. I still think it's funny that when they exploded onto the scene and they were all over the radio and we were all rocking to it, There still wasn't really a band put together yet. This album was mostly Tom and Brad goofing around in Toms basement on Homemade equipment Tom built himself.. But again. A fantastic album where every single song was a home run.
MollyBoy, as a 61-year-old man who grew up with this music, it thrills me to see younger generations react it. I'm glad you liked it. The 70's had the best music ever. Pure talent and pure voice. No auto-tune. No A.I. Great reaction video. 👍👍

Boston was one of the best bands of the 1970's. their sound was so unique. Loved it when they came out and love it today. It has stood the test of time.Great reaction. Billy Boy
Yes, if you could not actually _sing_ back in the day you did not get a recording contract. Today is a joke in comparison with auto-tune and pitch correction. 🙄🤷
This was actually recorded by 2 people . Tom Stoltz recorded all instreuments and Brad Delp did all vocals . The other 3 were brought in so they would have a touring band
Buddy, the ENTIRE ALBUM is AWESOME, there is not a bad song on the album. This is the perfect summer cruising song. Has one of the best voices of all time. You need to get the whole album or do a whole show on this one LP.
MollyBoy, It's so fun to see you discover this great music many of us grew up with. It makes me feel super lucky that this is where the "bar" was set for my generation. I also think you were wearing bell bottoms and bangin with us in the '70s and were reincarnated in 2000 to rediscover it all again.
Brad Delp is like the most underrated singer of like ever. The whole record is a rabbit hole in itself. Written in produced by the guitarist Tom Scholz and recorded in his bloody basement. Getting this quality out of someone's basement in the 70. Pure masterpiece
This album is a masterpiece from beginning to end, it really deserves a full listen! Don't worry, the views will be there since it's beloved by so many people ;)
No auto tuning. Just pure talent and gifted. Brad Delp's voice is like no others. Even the marketing. The cover is a guitar. Most people don't realize that. Done brilliantly. This is the time that set up for the 80s.
The most diverse music in history was in the 1970’s. The talent was mind boggling. You are listening to the best male vocalist in rock Brad Delp. RIP Brad
There are NO bad songs from Boston. His voice was incredible. God I am so glad I lived during this era. It will never be beat! The whole album deserves a play dude... you wont regret it!
Backstory is incredible. Tom Scholtz was a MIT trained engineer at Polaroid, a camera company. He moonlit playing in rock bands around Boston. He had trouble getting the sounds he wanted out of existing performance and recording equipment. He used his engineering skills to design, build and invent his own. He built a studio in his basement and played and recorded most of what you heard here himself. He brought in Brad Delp to do that incredible stratospheric vocal and Sib Hashian to play drums. Next from Boston, react to “Foreplay/Long Time.”
As every new generation comes along, they think "their" music is the shit. Until they are introduced to the MUSIC from the '70s & '80s. Everyone from GenX is grateful for being alive during that time. I still have my 40ish year old Boston CD, right alongside Back In Black and Moving Pictures.
Gen Jones grew up on this stuff. I can remember my brother playing guitar to all these songs on the radio. He still plays and I still listen to this music
Not in the same League I agree but we also did Sully today and I absolutely LOVE Godsmack. Different era and different sound I know but they are still fucking fabulous too 💕
A “classic rock” song but Brad Delp was honestly a guy who could sing any genre and sound great. He’s one of very, very few higher pitched/clean voices that I truly enjoy
I've heard this song thousands of times and it still gives me goosebumps. That high note, then higher, then higher, and then peaks out!! Nothing Like It!!!
Considered by an unbelievable majority of listeners to be the best debut album ever done. There are 8 songs on this album. All will catch your likes and respect. Thank you for another great job. 🤟😁
Boston is an amazing band. The singer is Brad Delp and yes he had an incredible voice. It was amazing to grow up in the 70s and hear this music on the radio every day. ❤❤❤
I was 14 when this album came out. My hot older neighbor woke me up on my birthday and handed me the record. I did not leave my room that day...too bad she did. Forever grateful to her.
Song like this were made in an era that the ENTIRE album was great. Just start it and let it play, no fillers or out of place single just for the radio!!
it was a great album.....Chicago Transit Authority would give it a run though......first album of Chicago. Beginnings, Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?, I'm a Man, Questions 67 and 68,
I enjoy your reactions to the music of my generation. I'm 70 and still only listen to what we call classic Rock. I'm seeing the younger generations are really starting to react and enjoy the older music and appreciate that it was authentic and raw talent unlike today's music.❤
Need to hear Amanda. I can tell you exactly where I heard it the first time! Not everyone is so fortunate to have a song with their name in it! Ahhhh the memories!
Yeah. Boston was never a band I paid attention to or cared about, but playing pool in bars the vast majority of my life, it's hard not to come to the eventual realization that they're one of the most talented bands ever.
Most of the studio stuff, except vocals, was done by one guy... Tom Scholz. I believe he did hire a drummer to re-cut the drum tracks for the album, but he has played those as well originally. Guitars and organ on the album are all Tom.
This was the first song on their first album. It exploded onto the scene overnight, and was on the radio constantly. We were like, "Who ARE these people??" One of the top selling debut albums of all time.
Many critics and fellow pro musicians all agree this album is one of Rocks all time greatest debut albums ever! The ENTIRE ALBUM is INSANELY LIT!!!! Enjoy this one bro, your in for a helluva ride.
I can tell you exactly what I was doing when I first heard this song. It was 1976, I was 17 years old, smoking a lot of pot, in a 68 Camero spinning donuts in a dirt field with my friends standing on the side around a bonfire at 11 pm. I don't know how we survived with all the crazy things we did in our youth. I'm so grateful for the songs and memories.
As I just said on the "Kansas" reaction video...The mid-60s through the 80's had talent, creativity, uniqueness, skill and vision...that is unmatched by any other era. Yeah, said it twice...as it is totally applicable. 😁
There are certain albums that should probably be in any vinyl collection. Boston's first album is one of them. Both a musical and engineering masterpiece.
For many of us who grew up with this music, listening to it now is extra special because it comes attached with the memories of a special time in our lives.
I caught Boston from my older brother who had a 69 Road Runner convertible. Fast forward to the mid-80s & I was the one crusin the strip on the weekends, just jammin to this entire album…in my 72 Challenger! 😎
This album was written and recorded by Tom Scholz (The guitarist in the silver jump suit) in his apartment building BASEMENT in 1974/75. That was unheard of back then, he built all of his own recording equipment (He was an engineer at Polaroid) and was an electronics genius as well as an amazing songwriter. Imagine getting these kinds of sounds on home-made analog recording equipment in a basement in the mid 70s, absolutely amazing.
"Boston" the whole first album was KILLER !! It was the biggest selling "Debut" album EVER !! Most of the instruments were played by one man. Tom Scholtz, the lead guitar player and it was all recorded and mixed in his basement in Weymouth, Mass. He even shopped the demo to all the record companies. He was an electrical Engineer and made the guitar effects too. The man is a G-E-N-I-U-S !! He has a few YT interviews you must hear.
I my humble opinion the 70's had the best music, perhaps it's because it was the music of my youth but there was such a variety of music from bands like Aerosmith, Boston, ELO, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Rush, Foghat and on and on and on. Keep it up, you'll discover a world of great music.
More BOSTON: "Foreplay / Long Time", "Smokin'", and "Hitch a Ride". FYI - this video is not a live performance; the audio is a radio edit of the studio recording. The lead singer, Brad Delp (R.I.P.), sings all of the harmonies (the rest of the band is lip-syncing for the video to appear to be live). This song is the first track on their 1976 debut album, which remained the best selling debut album in history for the next 8 years.
The studio version is over a minute longer (i think it has an extra verse). That was common practice at the time, they would have a shorter AM radio version so they could cram more songs into each hour.
This is actually the studio version of the song, the entire band (even Brad) is lip-syncing to this, it was to make a promotional video - because they were an unknown band at the time. There's not even an audience in the video. They're playing to an empty room.
Every single song on this debut album is a banger. You can't go wrong. You have to listen to every one of them and then go on to the second album which is just as good. You're going to be blown away
This song is on Boston’s debut album. When it came out it was the biggest selling debut album of all time. And like, say, Fleetwood Mac “Rumors” every track is gold
1976 was one of the best years for music. You had Boston Boston, Hotel California The Eagles, Songs in the Key of Life Stevie Wonder, Agents of Fortune BOC, A New World Record ELO, Fly Like an Egale Steve Miller, Night Moves Bob Seger, Frampton Comes Alive Peter Frampton, Rocks Aerosmith, Jailbreak Thin Lizzy, Destroyer Kiss, 2112 Rush, and on and on… I feel so fortunate to have lived through that year.
If you haven't listened to the isolated vocals for this song, do yourself a favor. And remember there was no autotune. If it doesn't make you cry, nothing will.
I am from Boston Brad Delp ( vocals) peformed regularly with his Beatles tribute band " Beatlejuice" right down the street from me. I saw his last performance before tragically tsking his own life. He was the nicest most down to earth cat you could meet.
This was one of the biggest debut albums of the 70’s. Just burst on the scene and pretty much every song on the album became single hits. HUGE on rock radio.
I was 11 in 1976 when this came out. This was the first album I bought with my allowance. Never heard anything like this before, my jaw was dropped the second the needle hit, the acoustic fade in on More Than A Feeling, Peace Of Mind, Foreplay/Longtime, Rock And Roll Band, Smokin, Hitch A Ride, Something About You, and Let Me Take You Home Tonight! Not a filler in the bunch! Brad Delp (RIP) my absolute favorite rock singer and the founder Tom Scholz (MIT grad) ,guitars, keyboards recorded everything in his basement. The other guys on the back cover are Sib Hashian on drums, Barry Goudreau on guitars, and Fran Sheehan on bass. Great album! Don't Look Back, in my opinion, is phenomenal too, just not quite as good. Debut 5 stars, Don't Look Back 4.5 stars for me anyway! Enjoy!
Youll probably read somewhere that Brad's voice was considered one of the best in all areas of the facet, namely his ranges he could hit. Most excellent reaction!!!
This might be the most classic of classic rock songs. Amazing band with an actual genius at the helm, Tom went to M.I.T (I believe). He's one of those guitarists that has his own unique sound. This first album of theirs is arguably the greatest debut in rock history (although there are others I would consider). Other great songs to check out are "Peace of Mind", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Don't Look Back", and "Feelin Satisfied".
I was a teen in the 80’s which was pretty cool …but it would be awesome to somehow magically be a teen in the 50’s …the 60’s …and the 70’s …just to experience the music/culture of those three decades as a young person
Not only do i love this music, always have always will but, I also love watching you react to it simply because it seems to put You in a good mood and a good place. Which is exactly what this music should do to a person.
Foreplay/Long Time should be next...mind blowing! I was so lucky to be around when all this music was new. The 70's were the best and I ain't takin it back.
Boston is one of my favorite groups and many of their songs have a GOOD feeling vib. A band ahead of their time and a unique standout in the mid 70's. This song and "Foreplay / Long Time" are favorites from Boston.
Molly, "I like singers with higher pitched voices"
Brad Delp, "Hold my beer"

Boy that guy sucked all the wind out of his own sails didn't he?
Great pipes on Brad. Think you would like also lead singer for Kansas, Steve Walsh. Might start with "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas.
@@gregcable3250 I'm not sure which song, but he did indeed do a Kansas song today.
Lol, yes!

His suicide was very sad indeed.

I mourn for him still even after all these years.

Boston not a terrible rabbit hole but their lead singer on the other hand.... Maybe not the best rabbit hole to go down lol
ELO is a must dive!! Hell yeah! Experience it Molls!
And a perfectly written album!
It's one of the most perfectly recorded songs ever recorded or produced .

It’s the fact that not only could he hit high notes, he could also hold those high notes!

I just love how the lead vocals go high, then higher, then somehow merge into the instrumentals so you can't tell where one ends and the next starts.
That is excellent production and engineering. Just as important as any part of any great song or band.

This is actually the studio version of the song, the entire band (even Brad) is lip-syncing to this, it was to make a promotional video - because they were an unknown band at the time. There's not even an audience in the video. They're playing to an empty room.
@@Dixey3Very common practice at the time.
@@whome1299 yes, I know, pointing it out for those who think any of this was live.
Every single song on this debut album is a banger. You can't go wrong. You have to listen to every one of them and then go on to the second album which is just as good. You're going to be blown away
"I put on some music to start my day" and this music will stay in your head all day! Uplifting, great music!
So nice to see you young pups appreciate the best of the 70's
I am from Boston
Brad Delp ( vocals) peformed regularly with his Beatles tribute band " Beatlejuice" right down the street from me.
Enjoy!
“That vibe” is TALENT
There are songs where you just kind of think they fell from heaven. They're just elevated, and never fail to soar.
Boston has a vast catalog of amazing music
This song has got to be in the top 5 of the best songs ever to react to. Unbelievable lead vocals and outrageous guitar playing.
AMAZING song
The entire debut album is FIRE FIRE FIRE. I've listened to it a million times (it feels) start to finish and it's just as wonderful.
One of the greatest debut albums ever! This whole album is A THING!
I was a teen in the 80’s which was pretty cool …but it would be awesome to somehow magically be a teen in the 50’s …the 60’s …and the 70’s …just to experience the music/culture of those three decades as a young person
This entire album is perfection.
